A Closer Look At A 2021 Saleen Black Label Mustang ( IT RIPS!)

In today's video I go over our 2021 Saleen Black Label Mustang!
This crazy pony is equipped with a Saleen supercharger that allows it to pump out 800 horsepower and 660 pound feet of torque!
There is a lot that goes into giving the Mustang the Saleen name and this car has it all. Carbon fiber aerodynamic parts, bigger wheels and brakes, oil coolers and larger radiator and the list goes on!

Only thing bad about Saleens and Roush mustangs... is that you don't get any of your money back. The dealers charge 80k plus for them but when you trade them in, they see them as "regular GT" mustangs based off the vin. So, if you get one... you better keep it because you literally lose 50% in value as soon as you drive off the lot.

Wrong. The same is true for my Shelby Super Snake Sport. However when trying to trade in every dealer is giving me what it’s worth. Not one has said it’s only worth a regular f150. That’s not an issue at all.The only issue with the VIN showing as a reg mustang is getting insurance(maybe).

@pat klimko Hence the name "Shelby". I said Roush and Saleen. Ford recognizes Shelbys(vin) but not the others. Trust me there's a difference, especially in certain areas of the country when it comes to trade in value, etc.

Dude, maybe you didn’t read the statement. I own a ‘21 Shelby Super Snake Sport. The dealers nor the insurance companies know it’s a Shelby from the VIN. It simply comes back as an Ford F150 XLT. But when it comes to trading in, which I have dabbled with before and am looking to do currently, dealers are giving me what a Shelby commands, not my VIN that shows a basic f150. So NO, you do not lose 50% driving off the lot simply because the VIN doesn’t reflect the upfitted vehicle. I know from first hand experiences with several different dealers throughout the country. Your statement is wrong. Absolutely no absurd depreciation just driving off the lot because of the VIN snafu.

@pat klimko that's your experience. How are you going to tell me what I've encountered with owning two Roush mustangs?!? The damn car was sold for 80k... when I wanted to trade it dealerships, etc were offering 50k max. Once again Shelby and Roush aren't the same when it comes to resale.

@@urboyAK you just went to some crappy dealers or looked like a guy they could lowball. What you do is leave those dealers and find a new one. You shouldn’t even be at a dealer until you have a deal worked out over the phone, through emails and pics. My experience has been nothing like that and I do all my wheeling and dealing before I even go. If you can’t work out a deal you like, then they don’t get you on their property. That’s 101. Oh well….

The stock front brakes on a pp are 15 inch 6 piston Brembos since 2015. Why 13 inch? Saleen supercharger? Can any Ford dealer repair it?

Their 13 inch because I read the brochure incorrectly 🤧. Please forgive me! Typically super chargers are serviced by third part companies (such as Eaton, for example). Saleen sells a supercharger rebuild kit that includes: Quantity 1 SKF Viton front seal. Quantity 1 SKF front bearing. Quantity 1 SKF rear bearing. Quantity 1 8 ounce bottle of supercharger oil. Quantity 1 Permatex Anaerobic gasket maker. Quantity 2 Performance carbon fiber coupler. Quantity 2 front rotor bearings. Quantity 2 PTFE front rotor seals. Quantity 2 INA rear needle bearings- pre-greased. Quantity 4 intercooler rings. It depends on the dealer if they choose to send it out or repair in house. Hope this helps!

Hard to get that much torque out of a coyote with just 800 horse. They're typically over 100 down on torque from hp even with a tvs which is known for being torqey. Opening up the exhaust more really adds torque and you could always pulley down on better fuel and that will really bring up torque.

Why do we need saline and Shelby aftermarket modifying mustangs for sale at a Ford dealership? Why can't Ford just do it themselves? Like dodge? Many tests have been done with modified mustangs and they often limp home. Ford can barely make it reliable on their own let alone aftermarket tuning..

Ford's have been known to be reliable the last 10 or 20 years. You must live under a rock. People push these things to 800 wheel and 1000 wheel on turbo setups and beat the shit out of them and they live more often than not. Yes some have issues all vehicles have some issues here and there. These are pretty reliable overall if taken care of even with big power.
