Same thing happened to my sister. We're putting a lawsuit together right now against Tesla. She had no idea there were emergency-releases for the doors. We even have witnesses that say she was alive and screaming for help before the fire engulfed the Tesla Model Y. If anyone has a similar story plz reach-out, maybe we can start a class-action lawsuit against Tesla together. These car-fires wont end here

There is a video of a guy talking about having had to kick out his Model Y window due to a fire presumably because he didn't know there were emergency door releases. *Reference: "Tesla Owner Breaks Window to Escape Before Vehicle Catches Fire in Vancouver"* Having electronic door handles with a separate emergency/manual release in a different location is just poor design from a safety stand point. Sorry about your sister, hopefully that video will help you with the lawsuit.

If your gas car crashed at 100 mph, it would likely catch fire as well. In fact, gas car fires are 60 times more common than EV fires. An emergency latch in front of the window controls should be pretty obvious. Let’s not blame Tesla for the recklessness of three college kids. If any car crashes at 100 mph, there’s a good chance that the structural damage would jam the doors in place.

One of the first things i did on my tesla was look where the manual release is, show my family & extend a strap for the rear to get out if we had an issue. People are just lazy and dont want to invest time into their own safety

10X more water than a "normal" car fire. Most fire-departments cant even put the fire out, they have to throw sand on it or just wait 8-10 hours till it burns out. They transport the car in special trucks because of risk of re-igniting. Trust me, I know from experience.

just to look different (rather cool) on the roads, people buy this Cybertruck, otherwise this doesn't take you any faster beyond speed limits of the road, this body design has not "evolved" to the best fit of the roads and drivers. This also does not save any money overall (saves on gas) because if you add up the money+interest you have to spent to buy it, it's a lot. Biggest of all it amazes me how without a drop of gasoline in these cars, these cars catch fire really fast and really massive to put out, accidents always happen, but chance to survive in these are far lesser than normal cars.

The door handle design issue has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it was an electric vehicle. This vehicle had at least 600 horsepower. Yes, very wise to give THAT to a teenager. This vehicle seems to have caught fire because a very large lithium ion battery was slammed between two relatively immovable objects, a cement wall and a tree.
