As someone who absolutely loves Dying Light and this expansion in particular, this is absolutely understandable 😅 I guess I had played these during a time where this game was fitting my every niche. I personally LOVED the ending revealing to us that volatiles can be sentient and manipulative, as it opens up future writing styles and avenues I genuinely like! I never experience these struggles you guys had when I play this game with my friends, but I wholeheartedly sympathize with the whole thing! Can get really annoying if the gameplay isn't sticking for ya, definitely Also want to say I love the format of this vid, editing and jokes were spot on. Lost it at the intro, Cortana's Oscar-worthy quote and the jumping off a cliff bit were gold🤣

This is my all time favorite dlc for a game and the driving is one of the best parts.

Even after getting duped tier 5 car parts and infinite gas, driving is still boring as hell and i just speed slide across the map because it is more fun. I lost count how many times i had replayed the dlc with my friends but the best part is their reaction to The Button and the absurdity of cloaking potions in volatile hives. Still fun to play.

For context, I was the spawn hoe 😂 I sat at the mansion so we could teleport back to the researcher guy and skip the awful driving, so I just sat my ass in the bathtub, looking at the cat pictures on the wall. It was like 1:00 AM, I had work at 6:00 AM that day, and needless to say, I was just so tired.

I just love how you can hear everyone becoming increasingly fed up with the bullshit as the video goes on. It's a shame, too. I bought the base game + the following with my boyfriend and another friend of ours to run through because I really enjoyed the base game. I wasn't feeling it in the hour and a half or so we played, and we haven't gotten back to it since. I'm kinda glad now watching the whole DLC through.

I had an absolute blast with The Following. But when I finished the base game I really wanted more world to explore, so when I got that with the following I was stoked right off the bat. I enjoyed the ‘side missions’ because they allowed me to explore more of the world as well as find out more about this weird community right outside Harran. Basically if you enjoyed the base game, I think you’ll love the following

I once fell through the map at one point when playing this with a friend. I had to climb my way up and walked through a cliff face aka phase through a wall to get back. Ah bugs. But the worse thing that happened was due to me being tired where I fell asleep when we were driving (our own buggy’s) at night time and crashed into explosive barrels. I woke up respawned and they wondered what the hell happened as they heard an explosion in the distance.

Very flawed with an unsatisfactory story and conclusion but honestly impressive how the dlc adds so many new features, enemies and world building. Even adds a map that’s bigger than the first games (though a lot of it is just mountain and forest with not much to interact with.) it also works quite well with the first game since when you get tired of the slums or city you can go to the country side and vice versa. Honestly a really cool dlc and I don’t mind how insanely broken and convoluted it is as much as others which I can’t blame those people at all. It’s almost like a sequel but if it was a sequel and stood alone as it’s own game it would be much harder to forgive. And I stand by the driving to be clunky and annoying but also at times fun as hell

Overall, this DLC is about a 6/10. I liked some of the gameplay moments, but the much lesser emphasis on parkour, emphasis on CARS, on this map filled with bombers to alert those cursed virals make driving a complete slog. This is coming from a guy who LOVED dying light btw. This map is the complete opposite of Old Town which is my favorite locarion in DL. Little to no buildings, big and empty, and is a complete slog to get through.
