Real shit I had a guy persistently hit on me at a gay bar. Trying to "neg" me and I was so offended that I kept walking away and HE KEPT TRYING. SIR I AM AT A GAY BAR TO AVOID THIS. I was having fun until that point. The night ended with me having to beat him with my car bat because he grabbed me while I was getting in my vehicle. I had a hand print bruise on my left arm for 2 months. He had a concussion. I am not brave. I for once was lucky. Many people who experience sexual assault and harassment are not. This is the one time I was able to get away. I was not going to comment on this video, but I must. Defundsimping’s logic on “smashing” women within three dates (or before that) is poor thinking. Not everyone wants to give out their bodies to just anyone. Some people like to take things slow or wait until marriage. Then, some of his viewers are young male teenagers/men and they will think this logic is “okay.” Sure, he thinks most of his viewers are older, but you have to use your word choices wisely online. I know, it’s not his job, but at least give a disclaimer... On top of that, his logic gives me sexual harassment/assault/rape vibes... This is not okay and I hope he changes his approach on TikTok or the account gets deleted... Profiting money while corrupting society, especially the youth is sick... We have enough predators out there, we do not need more.

Exactly, and something I find so concerning about the "three dates" rule is that it empowers his followers to then pressure or push the people they're talking to into doing something they might not actually be comfortable with. :( this type of rhetoric is so harmful for younger men who might not know any better
@angygremlin44233 жыл бұрын
I'm also confused by the "three dates" rule because a lot of these kind of guys (maybe a little less with PUAs when compared to incels/neckbeards, although some PUAs definitely seem to hold incel beliefs) only value women who they feel aren't "sluts/whores". Yet they expect unrestricted sexual access to a woman within a very short period after their first date/social interaction. If this kind of sexual contact occured with any other man, they'd dismiss the woman as immoral and unworthy of their "affections". How does that make sense? It seems like they can't see the blatant hypocrisy.

This just shows that people need to be taught emotional maturity (especially straight men). Like if people were just straightforward about their feelings and intenions, dating would be so much more simple and all these games wouldn't be needed. 7:00 this bit stuck out to me so I googled it and... Y'all. The way these guys on disturbing blogs talk about foreign women is so gross. I'm Brazilian myself and it's not a shock to learn that some American men fetishize us (long story short, it's a national & international media problem) but these dudes specifically talk about Latinas, Asian women, Eastern Europeans etc like they're sexy, guillible playthings. The objectification is unparalleled. Maybe that's why some of the pick up artists have travel bans... Anyways. Great video! Very informative. And thank God those websites seemed niche. edit: I just watched itsjinakim's video "why is this tiktoker cancelled by asian women"... Apparently the blog dudes are on tiktok too.
@AdaOnDemand3 жыл бұрын
First of all thank you so much for looking into this further, I'd love some articles and further reading if you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd like to learn more!! The fetishization of "foreign" women is so harmful and has such damaging consequences, and it was brought to the forefront with the horrendous shooting incident in Georgia a few weeks ago 😭 and it's still excused and rationalized away. I'll also check out the TikTok you mentioned!
@anaribeiro9753 жыл бұрын
Regarding the fetishization of "foreign" women, I only really feel equipped to talk about Brazil, so... I think it can be largely blamed on media because of its portrayal of Brazilian women. I couldn't find a source in English for this but there's an infamous Infraero (a state owned Brazilian airport management company) ad, from the '70s, that portrays our women as a drawing point for tourism. A similar controversy actually happened recently tinyurl.com/h2zsytyh . Besides our own country having a history of sex tourism tinyurl.com/37w55nfy , as do other developing countries, international media doesn't help. They sell the narrative of Brazilian women being sex pots, and of our culture being promiscuous in general. It is born both out of misunderstanding it, and this whole fetishization thing being something that western hemisphere countries do... No idea why. I'm no expert, I'm just a curious college student. But this article was enlightening tinyurl.com/3jpm3cbs . There's also this opinion piece by a Brazilian woman talking about all this, but it's behind a paywall so I couldn't read it tinyurl.com/4krxyj93 .
@anaribeiro9753 жыл бұрын
I have to admit, I feel ambiguous about broaching this topic... I fear I'm making my country look like the backwards sh*it hole some Americans (Trump?) seem to think it is, when to me at least it's pretty clear every nation has its problems, both economic and cultural, and its own "brand" of misoginy, racism, homophobia, transphobia... Besides, there is work being done to stop sex tourism ( tinyurl.com/4us93jna I fear this one's behind a paywall too, but I was able to read it), and it is decreasing. The feminist movement here has picked up a lot of strenght since the early 2010s, but it's existed for a lot longer. Anyways. I can really only speak for myself and what I've seen, and there's no sex tourism on my region. There were some actual academic articles about this stuff on google scholar, and Cheyenne Lin is an American expat living in Brazil and she has a few videos on Brazilian culture (some about objectification and media). Take all of this with a grain of salt, it's a huge country, lots of cultural differences. Anyways. Sorry for the lengthy comment, I'm passionate about this and had some free time. I hope this is helpful, or at least informative. (I had to shorten the links, the original comment was too long)

In some blog post they even complain when foreign women know English fluently. This guy who went to Colombia (I think it was Colombia, this was a while ago, I don’t remember) was disappointed that the woman he was trying to get with understood everything he said. He was also complaining that many girls in Latin America were learning English, because according to him, that means “we’ve been Westernized”. I think that bothers them because they know we won’t put up with their bullshit.

@@alexvicari3241 no one should be submissive in a relationship unless that is specifically what they want and negotiated for... being the financial provider doesnt give you any extra rights or entitlements in the relationship. Housework and child rearing are extremely tasking jobs that stay at home parents do for free and they are never off the clock. "submission" and "dominance" are kinks, nobody us entitled to their partner being submissive or dominant for any reason whatsoever. @Flower Plant yes everything you said is true and that’s where choice comes in no one has to do anything. However in most cases when a man is going to work everyday to provide for his family and is the sole provider then naturally he wants a submissive woman because he wants that role to have final say. The woman’s opinion and input is still valued and considered but he will still make the final decision and does not want to be going back and forth with her. This is why it’s important to pick the right partner you can trust to make decisions so that taking care of the home which as you mentioned is hard work in itself it actually takes one less responsibility from from that person to focus on their duties.

Amazing video! I loved the juxtaposition of 1970's dating with today's dating -- it's fascinating how these tips changed. I grew up watching a lot of 1960's and 1970's sitcoms like The Dick Van Dyke Show and I Dream of Jeannie, and even the shows back then made fun of guys with misogynistic views on "hooking up" and how it's actually sexual harassment. It's sad that even by 1960s standards, when mainstream society was purportedly closer-minded, modern-day PUAs would be considered absolute scum. Very influential in the forming of modern toxic PU-artistry were Neil Strauss's "The Game", Roosh V, and The Red Pill. "The Game" sold /a lot/, even to men already in a relationship but who wanted to cheat on their spouses or dominate them. It was written by Strauss and "Mystery", two PUAs who have since denounced the PUA sub-culture as toxic and misogynistic. Strauss has openly apologized for his book. Roosh V popularized the "manosphere" and introduced racism into the Game, by publishing books on which cultures to prey on for sex. He has also done a 180 since then: he's a Born-Again Christian who now advocates for chastity and monogamy. Virtually all male PUAs who were neck-deep in "The Game" and the "manosphere" have recanted their ideology as they approached middle age and realized that they had been young, sex-addicted assholes this whole time. A number of them became anti-misogyny and anti-PUA. The only exception to this are the Red-Pillers, who are alt-right and hell-bent on hurting women. There are two female counterparts to male PUAs. One was what you included in your video. The other one is a little more hidden, and it's called "The Female Dating Strategy", or FDS for short. FDS is closer to the toxicity of PUAs, in so far that they teach tactics involving manipulation and exploitation, and rely on a bigoted world view. They are also TERFs. While PUAs use emotional manipulation to coerce sex from women without emotional or financial investment, FDSers use emotional manipulation to coerce money from men without emotional or sexual investment. Both feature tightly-knit, cult-like communities that prey on people who've been scarred by a negative interaction with the opposite sex OR are struggling with sexual frustration. I've seen FDSers a few times trying to discretely recruit women on female-centric subreddits where said women posted about having "man trouble", and I always try to warn these women away from them (FDSers are very persistent, and will call you a lying shill, pick-me or a man in disguise if you foil their recruitment). If PUAs say things like "cut off a woman if she won't kiss you on the first date or wants you to buy her an expensive dinner", FDSers say things like "cut off a man who asks you out for coffee or plays video games or wants to be a stay-at-home dad."

Idk if this is just because I am a queer woman, but I never understood how being a rude person was ever going to be seen as attractive. We can see this in film, books and music, there's so often this idea that women owe their bodies and relationships to men, who can very often not be right for them. There definitely a rise in just hook-up culture, rather than trying to really get to know someone and like them for who they are, rather than what they can provide for you: sexual favours, etc. I don't know who these tactics are helping, because it doesn't seem to lead to anything healthy actually progressing. There's definitely some fears of a real committed relationship that a lot of young people experience. Honestly, the whole pick up culture seems pretty toxic and I never really understood how you can want to expect a random stranger to be interested in you, without knowing anything about you.

The fact that a man literally asked me, “you wouldn’t die for me” at, what i felt was, the peak of the beginning of covid… proves to me that these type of people really exist… it’s not just an internet anomaly. Lmaoo that legitimately scares me 🥴

I'm GenX, and the saddest part about this is that not only men were taught that women want aholes. Women were, too. So many of my friends are still single in their 40s trying to figure out why dating aholes and fboys leaves them with no one. And then they say "there are no good men", but they're wrong. My husband is short, bald, a little chubby, and shy. He is also kind, loving, passionate, smart, funny, and sexy. I wasted a lot of time with jerks, but I'm glad I came to my senses!

Well that's a point that a lot of these guys make. They see this kind of problematic behaviour works so they copy it. Guys see that some women are immature and pick the wrong guys so they think that they have to act like that too in order to be successful. It's a cycle that will probably continue to perpetuate itself for years to come

I was recently exposed to alpha male tiktok. Your video started with dudes telling dudes: if a woman isn't willing to meet up because pandemic, she's not worth your time bc she isn't willing to risk dying for you. I want to focus on this because it sparked something. Those men are making a really good point for women to remember. I think we'll be in a better place if women continue to assume men are going to, at the very least, give them a viral infection (usually it's something sexually transmitted). I read a statistic that "the number 1 cause of death for females ages 15-59 worldwide is men. More specifically, women ages 15-59 die in this world primarily as a result of being f*cked by men". Example: If a couple wants a family, a woman needs to put her life at risk with a man even in a healthy loving relationship. Pregnancy is her risk for the survival of humanity. This biological reason means a woman needs to be absolutely sure that her partner is worth the risk and will do everything in his power to ensure she has a safe supportive environment to survive pregnancy and that the child survives and is also safe and supported. Access to legal abortions is constantly under threat. It is absolutely essential for women (even with access to abortions) to guard who has access to their wombs. Having sex is a life risk on a sliding scale as with everything. But why on earth would we want to f*ck around and find out? "Guys be like: too misogynistic to like women, too homphobic to like men" - youtube commenter uhu. Exactly. These men's access to women should be blocked. This requires coordination by women living with enough privilege to safely guard ourselves to remove that access. By not doing so, we the privileged women, are culpable. Too harsh? What's the alternative? F*ck around and find out. I'm sensing a time of great change for women of privilege. I hope we're all taking the time to connect and help teach each other to avoid these awful men. We need to bring more women into our supportive circles. Expose women to this. Teach women ways to date as safely as possible if they have a desire for a monogamous relationship. (I don't, at this time, believe any relationship that's non-monogamous is a safe one for a woman even if she's desires it. Thanks patriarchy) Women need to come together in business, in school, in organizations, clubs hobbies etc. and work together to de-center men from our lives. The women who are in a position to do so, will need to work to de-program patriarchal conditioning that's helping to keep other less privileged women fall victim to these men. If you are a woman who has the ability to choose to have casual sex with men. Stop. Listen. Your safety depends on it. If you pay for a man's rent, gas, food, etc. Stop. Think. Unless you're in a committed relationship and y'all are a family unit with combined finances, avoid all costs associated with the all too common situationships. If you give free therapy, free labor, free coaching to a man. Stop. Go. Put that energy into lifting up women and children. Women with privilege need to be the slightly less oppressed group lifting up the more oppressed group. Not the oppressed lifting up the oppressors. If you think you won't ever be happy single. Stop. Relax. This is conditioning. Women can help you work on re-conditioning so that you can cultivate a fulfilling life regardless of relationship status. If you think your clock is ticking. Stop. Breathe. Biologically sure it may be. But the risks are far too great to have some random unproven man's offspring if your time is running. Be proactive and protective if you desire children. Is it freezing eggs? Fostering/adopting? A sperm donor? Raising children in a community with other supportive parents so you're not relying on a husband if you haven't been able to find a worthy one in time? Women will find better ways to raise the next generations. If you want to be a homemaker, sahm, trad wife etc. Stop. Choose. Vet, vet, vet the heck out of any man who shows interest. Never stop vetting. Women choose men. Women must only choose a man who chooses her. And he must keep choosing her every day for the rest of his life. Love is a choice. He must make that choice to provide for their family, love and respect her, help and support her, never ever let her question his loyalty to their family unit. She must also be just as committed. Good couples have healthy competition between who can dote on each other the most. Good couples constantly try to outdo each other in showing affection with what ever that means for them as individuals. She makes his favorite food, - he buys her favorite flowers. Sounds basic? It's supposed to be. These things come easy for people when they love each other. If you're a woman often overly explaining and communicating to men. Stop. Understand. If he wanted to, he would. He would put in the effort it takes to get to understand you as you have done for him. If you tell him something bothers you and he doesn't change it, leave. Non-verbal communication is always happening. Don't forget that. Healthy couples know this and work to meet the needs of each other without needing to be verbally told all the time. If you're just having fights with men in the comments section. Stop. just stop. Go and try to convert a fellow woman. Maybe you can help her out of society's conditioning. Or you can f*ck around and find out.
