My grandfather made me a doll house, when I was a child. We painted it together made the furniture and my grandmother helped me make the soft furnishings. I absolutely loved it my grandfather was the best. Fast forward 30 years or so and I wish I still had it. I had been thinking the last few years to purchase one for myself but have been having that internal dialogue of where would I put it ( I have the room) what would I do with it would it just sit there, am I too old etc. Well you know what frankly my darlings I no longer care what anyone else thinks. So I’m getting one. Nancy it will bring you so much joy there is something magical about it. This was the affirming sign I needed. ❤

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” 🪢 It was my Gran who had the special dollhouse, that all her grandchildren were enamoured with. There must have been a birds nest in her eaves, because on her doorstep we’d find piles of dragonfly wings, and we’d pick flowers and make petal skirts and make ‘flower fairies’ who drank the dewdrops off the leaves of her nastertiums planted complimentary to her pumpkin garden - you could lay down in that patch and disappear. The dollhouse inside had matchbox drawers, earring chandeliers, and buttons and tiny hand knitted blankets for our furnishing imagination. Her house smelled of lavender and it was cottagecore long before the aesthetic was coined 🪻 A beautiful and inspirational makeover 🌺

That mushroom basket is adorable!! I would put a soft light inside of it and turn it into a nightlight. My inner child would stare at it and imagine that a kind gnome family live in it and are sitting together, cozy around the fire. 😊

What a beautiful idea! Girls mature so fast, and we are taught to care for others from a very early age. We leave much of ourselves behind in the process, never to return. I bought a dollshouse from the tip shop for $7 and I find it very meditative to arrange things inside it and make fairy chandeliers to hang in the rooms. Its my blissfull private world ❤

You should definitely do one! I've seen some absolutely incredible renovations on Instagram, you can go all out, but on a tiny scale! There's little hooks for curtain rods in this one... they are so tiny! 🦔 xx

How simply adorable, I love it all!!! The bed linens, bunny, the doll house, cosmos are one of my favorite flowers and I think I recognize that sweet little fairy book. Once I've settled (currently getting my tiny house ready for sale) I'm going to move even further out to get a bigger house and garden.
