The #1 productivity 'hack' for me is focusing on high-leverage activities in high-energy periods. Track in which hours you have most energy for a week. Then identify the high-leverage activities. Do those activities in those high-energy periods. This is the only way of 'working smarter' that actually worked for me. It has drastically improved how much meaningful work I get done.

Damn that is genius, there are times when I can do 12 hour programming sessions like it's nothing, but they are random lmao, when I'm further down the path I can use those moments for marketing and shit

Hey Dan, Man, I've been deep-diving into your content lately. Spent a good 3+ hours on your tweets alone and countless more on your KZbin channel. It's been a wild ride, and I've got to say, you've been like a guiding star for me. I am so grateful for finding you out! I've been wrestling with this whole "niche" thing for ages, almost burnt myself out over it. But your content? It's like you were speaking directly to me. It hit me - I've been the niche I've been searching for all along. You just made it so clear to me. Big thanks for all the value you're putting out there. You have motivated me to put out my first pieces on Twitter.

Wow! listening to your story of pushing yourself is like telling someone about my life. People don’t understand and always ask me why I force myself to change and get out of my comfort zone. I have changed career paths, I have moved country, I have changed my eating habits, I have isolated myself to do what feels right for me. People think I’m weird, I couldn’t imagine living a life considered average or normal. Learning and growing does not fit the ‘usual’ routine.

I agree, I did that when I was young: from Montreal, moved to Athens, then London, then Paris, then Rome , then Berlin...The moving gets you motivated and you learn really fast. I think it's good when you're a younger person. Before marriage. Now I live in Greece by the sea and am very comfortable and no longer want to move around. I love waking up and swimming in the sea and swim again around sunset. I run my coaching business online however.

I am not your normal audience being almost 60 and on my 8th year living off grid. It is a completely different lifestyle but it challenges me everyday. I see people driving to a off grid location and parking a RV and they never build anything because they have a roof over their head. I came here and lived in a tent until my place was built. Sleeping under an open tent where rattlesnakes and the weather have access is a huge motivation.

Guess it's an insane boost of freedom to get off grid. Only thing is - I guess it's where you have to say goodbye to many human connections that won't be able to communicate with the new you. It's solitude I guess. Yet, in today's ZOOM meeting society...maybe it's already solitude within the grid and just an imaginary togetherness...

Just realized I’ve put myself in “tactical stress” (there’s a name for it!) the last few days. I’m technically a “senior” but coming out of a long period of intense caretaking where I had to back burner my biz goals to the point of near collapse (financially and physically). So it’s definitely do or die and I’m reinventing myself and my approach to creating a biz as the niche (that was a huge relief-the “find your niche “ convo was keeping me stuck and frustrated for years!). And yes, the best, catapulting decisions of my life were scary and made me look reckless and crazy! Thank you for your refreshing “straight talk” approach. Your razor-sharp revelations put context to vague impressions I’ve gained and confirm I’m on the right track (which is the road less traveled by most)! Thanks for sharing your unique genius-a great inspiration!

This hit me at a perfect time. I quit my job knowing I would feel scared and Shitty in order to motivate me to start my online business. I cried and I want the job back, I called myself stupid so many times. And on all levels it was stupid I could’ve started the business and kept my job. But the one thing that doesn’t make it stupid was my reason for it. So it leaves me no other option other than to WORK.

I think this knowing everything around you after 6 months and feeling like you want to move really comes from a consumer mindset. If you'd have the same producer mindset in physical world as you have in digital you would start looking into how you can take part in society by for example volunteering and becoming a part of a community. OR if you bought a house you can start scape a garden and grow vegetables. you dont need change of location to push yourself out of your comfort zone and explore new terriroty

I'm getting bored of my job and these ideas really resonate with me. But with the 2nd kid on the way, don't really have the courage to take a leap of faith. I'm kind of slowly building up to it, and these videos help. My take on a couple of points: 4 - material things - I usually like to avoid buying unnecessary things but I was on a 2 month craze into watches and I bought a relatively expensive watch. One of the reasons was that I like the craftsmanship and wanted to experience something luxurious. The other thing ties to self image - being able to afford nice things and proving to yourself that you can earn that, but also being able to present yourself with higher value. It might seem shallow but it's a confidence booster. 5 - degeneracy - I would say there are some mind altering substances like LSD and psilocybin mushrooms which can boost creativity and open the mind, even change the course of a life. Many in silicon valley consumed psychedelics. Also going out helps you to reset, get out of a rut and get a "surge of energy".

tactical stress tactics: 1-launching a product before building it. -- accept preorders, set a launch date, promoting, force your business to grow 2-location hopping (move when feel comfortable) -- throw yourself to unknown, job hop, walk the new paths, 3-invest in education --monetize what we enjoy learning, spend money on education, so you will end up starting 4-material items (spend money on good shape, education, dress, location) 5-degeneracy (maybe you need to let loose, go sleep) 6- emotional transmutation (allowing yourself to feeling bad, regret -> ''I am gonna change''), 7- pain of where you are must overweight the pain of what other people say about you -- thinking holistically in individual situations -- digital economics, two hour writer
