Still my favorite Spidey game ever. Phenomenal job by Neversoft. It's sequel, Enter Electro, is vastly underrated IMHO. Loved how it picked up directly after the 1st part and you had to contend with an all new set of villains in Shocker, Sandman, Beetle, Hammerhead, Lizard & of course Electro. Very solid job by Vicarious Visions. Looking forward to you covering it also at some point.

Thank you so much for participating in the collab! Sounds like we had a very similar childhood! Spider-Man 2000 was such a game changer for comic based video games. It's wild how you can see it's influence even in games like Hulk 2003 and Batman Vengeance (I think it's Vengeance? The GameCube one)

It sure did! I still remember giving old games like Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Tomb Raider and Medieval a shot. But I was just to overwhelmed by the responsibility of controlling those characters. Ironically, I was all about Spidey’s great powers and great responsibilities.

For as great a game as Spiderman PS4 is, and I really enjoyed Ultimate as well, this is still and probably always will be my personal favorite Spiderman game.

When I started to play it 16 years ago,I thought the fog around NYC was water and I thought"why would they have buildings in the sea"(because I didn't see those cut scenes as they didn't appear in the game) Probably it has the best spiderman story.

Dude this game was my legit childhood. I remember playing the demo build of it on one of my old PS1 demo discs before getting the full game shortly after back in 2000/2001. I wish I would have come across this video sooner cause it was really amazing! The unreal amount of nostalgia I get from this game and from never forgetting the first time I heard 8:14, it makes me so happy I could honestly shed a tear. And being a Venom and Carnage fan all my life made this game that much better. These are my favorite versions of them both in any Spidey video game. And when you combine that with the game already feeling like one huge MARVEL get together all culminating in the final runaway style showdown with the epic as hell Monster Ock, just pure perfection Neversoft created with this game!

This setting is so nice, there are no stupid missing characters, just the MARVEL UNIVERSE, the genuine comic world in videogame form, a true Spider-Man Game!!!! I loved it and I only played it randomly at a friend's place on his old computer!!!

You really put why this game shines into words quite well! I think it really acted like a gateway for a lot of people by just throwing you into Spidey's corner of the Marvel U, the devs really loved the comics and you definitely could tell- the passion was infectious!

The game that started a generation of fans. Insomniac is awesome what they did with the web swinger but this game is still special to a lot of fans. Including myself as this was the first game of Spider man transitioning from 2d to 3d. It was revolutionary at the time considering it was one of the best superhero games of the era.

And it didn’t & doesn’t suck. Because there were a few 3D comic book games at that time and they were garbage. The other good super hero game was Spawn for Sega dreamcast So I am thsnkful that Neversoft wanted to create a good comic book video game

This game was big part of my childhood👌 i have played many other spidey games with different consoles like ps2,ps3 and ps4 but after all these years like 23years later this 2000 Spiderman is timeless and best spiderman game👍 also Enter Electro is good spidey game but this first is better. PS1 spiderman games are the best ones.

I still haven't actually played Spider-Man 2000. It was before my time. But I played the first movie tie in, which as I understand was mechanically very similar. So it presumably wouldn't be too jarring of a switch to make?

It wouldn't, not at all. This game, its sequel (Enter Electro), the first movie tie-in and the second movie's psp game are all quite similar in gameplay (3D beat 'em up platformers)

@@pinkstinger The PSP Spider-Man 2 is basically just a slight reskin if Spider-Man 1 on PS2. I remember going to that after the console version and being really disappointed, lol.

@@kidanarchy2105 indeed, it's very samey with environments looking a lot like the original ps2 game (sans the Mysterio levels, they were in an expo of sorts, if I remember correctly, and the Doc Ock fight on the rig), only thing that was really better IMO was the music, me likes rock :)
