You guys are, by far, the most professional game review video channel today. Outstanding production! Your interaction is just right, and you work together to keep the pace of information flowing smoothly in your conversation. Super work! This game looks great, too. I am glad to see that it is not just another version of Agricola/Caverna. The mechanisms are different and interesting. Now I want to try it. Thanks for a great overview.

so far this is unquestionably the best game I've bought in 2016. just amazing. I'd sell any 3 games out of my top 10 to fund it happily if I'd needed to now I've played it.

I was going to pass on this one because of the sheer number of components but you have it so well organized on the table that now I'm thinking it doesn't look so bad after all. Uh oh...

There are those that don't find Uwe Rosenberg's "sandbox" games (like Caverna or Fields of Arle) as appealing as his tighter, less forgiving games like Agricola or At the Gates of Loyang. Wondered what your thoughts were on how "open" this felt - i.e., did it seem more or less restrictive than those others. Was also curious about if there is any variability in the setup from game to game, or does everything start out exactly the same for each game? Thanks for a really good overview - you guys do a really nice job.

Jeremy, I'm buying Manhattan Project: Energy Empire because of your comment about it being an early contender for game of the year for you and now you mention A Feast For Odin as a top 10 game too. I'm interested in knowing your top 10 list because it appears we have similar game preferences. Thanks for the informative game reviews that are done in a different format compared to other broadcasters.

Only negative I have for it is that it has a potential for a lot of analysis paralysis due to the sheer number of worker placement spots and puzzle aspects, otherwise, I am hooked on this thing. Great video.

This is a game that needs to be bought used and punched. I think it might even be worth paying more for an opened copy, just to save a day of your life. I read Uwe's next game will be really small and cute, a puzzle laying game involving cow droppings. I predict huge sales. This will be followed by an even more massive game called 'A feast for Arnold' that comes with its own bench press. If you do ten reps, you win.

As a proud member of the Temple of Uwe I just can't not be salivating at the thought of this! Must have it! Just need to decide how to balance my budget and then find actual time to play it (anyone know a good babysitter in Hässleholm, Sweden??)

Big investment. Big box. Expensive, shelf consuming. Chit punch time also needs to be considered. Uwe is a strange bipolar case. Makes small, incredibly weak shells of a game like patchwork, that shouldn't even be published, then flips out with behemoths like Odin that tip the other extreme. He needs more middle ground, like glass road.
@clumsydad7158
@clumsydad7158 8 жыл бұрын
uh, apparently people think he's on to something, because he's probably in the top 3 of designers for average gamer. but i will consider 'chit punch time' on my list of game criteria, that's a good one! (-:

@Man vs Meeple... I have seen a game in the background of several of your videos so far..."Amun-Re"...is this game getting a new facelift and is it going to be published again?? I can't find that particular copy anywhere. What gives?! Thanks!!

Caught my attention, too. At BGG there is a 2016 edition listed, but as "not yet published". It's great news; this game is a timeless classic and should always be available.

I only played Agricola once... Was turned off... Not sure why... Maybe all the card choices making me feel as if I didn't have any real control...or being too many options and no matter wat I chose, it maybe didn't matter... I sooooo want to like Ewe's games.... I have but have not yet played Arle... For those that have, how does this compare? I like Tzolkin, R. Crusoe, Dead of W, TWilight S, Eclipse, Puerto R, Goa, Polis, Galaxy T, Keyflower, Roll f t Galaxy. Thanks!

Ugh. I think you guys sold me on it. I haven't been interested to this point because I'm not as much of a fan of the open gaming and sandbox. But this looks like the perfect mix of openness and directed strategy. Can you guys comment about the feel of this one compared to the older tighter Uwe games?
@TheGunslinger019
@TheGunslinger019 8 жыл бұрын
Jon Weber I am also a fan of the older Uwe designs (i like Agricola more than Caverna and so on) but this one even if the options seem overwhelming after reading the rules and watching this video i have to say got my attention. I was very sad to find every year that Uwe's designs got more sandbox-y than the previous one (one of the reasons i stopped playing video games is that the open world/sandbox games are trending more and more) but now i think he found the golden symmetry. I have to play it though to see for myself.
