I have mine in Gold and i love it.I did not have to remove any of the bottom plates.part of the reason why your bridge is not holding tune is you removing parts required for fine tuning,the nylon ball you won’t need if you want to be able to do “Flutters” techniques using the whammy but if you don’t care for flutters screw the nylons ball in,Also FYI keep an eye on the stop tail screw and your bridge height when screwing the nylon ball because it can break and indent your finish if your not paying attention.Also,you should be screwing the stop tail screws all the way down where you should have a 45 degree angle and leveling the bridge.Finally,to all of you dealing with tuning issues:Please note you need to set up your guitars tension on the neck and need to check for back bows and forward bow as well as checking the bushings on the guitar making sure they are not slipping out of the body which will cause tuning issues.if you are not experienced setting up necks take it to a luthier it’s not just slapping the thing on either if your going to be doing tuning changes and all that good shit,Keep that in mind before modifying any guitar physics is behind all the mechanical operation of a guitar so If your not sure don’t blame the product but your lack of skill for proper installation.

@@menschlicheswesen84 I hear you brother,I promise you once you got the little things of each individual guitar (As each one has its own issues challenges) figured out,the guitar always will return back to “0” cent in tuning,so long your neck tension in relation to string gauge tension and the FRX properly set on the stoptail is also properly screwed down.And I do agree the instructions do a fair job to it it in but not much regarding trouble shooting especially the Nylon Ball and it’s purpose.Took a lot of trial and error to figure out the system physics in operation.Keep rockin’ and I’m glad you put the video out as there isn’t too much out there and the comments is always like searching for a gem in the ocean so much love my friend! #BUFALO #NEWYORK

I have one on my Iceman. The big system fits the guitar well. I had problems getting it to return to zero until i carfully polished the pivot posts. I you look at them closely, they are coarse and the knife edges catch on the texture. Now its perfect.

Thank's for the tip... I'm gonna make a few adjustment's at the next string change... Sure it look's bad ass on an Iceman, some people hate the look of the FRX, i think it fit's such a big guitar much better then a les paul...

So you show us the Ugly Trem but dont Demo how good or bad it works really ?????
@menschlicheswesen848 ай бұрын
Yep, that's exactly what i did...😅 Truth is, i'm not the best person to show tuning stability on any guitar... I always think the guitar is out of tune, it's pretty anoying... Tuner's don't help cause in my ears nearly every guitar sounds off, when the tuner say's it's in tune... An open string chord sounds always out of tune compared to a chord high up the frettboard... So if i show how it work's, i don't know if you people hear what i hear, or if you hear what the tuners say... Hope what i write makes sense to you...😄

i've owned one and installed it on a Gibson Les Paul Studio and then moved it to an Epiphone Les Paul Classic. Truth is, it's nothing like an original floyd. It doesn't hold tune very well. The biggest flaw is that it depends on a single fat coil, and because it's a single coil, it doesn't help with balance compared to having 2 or 3 or 4 coils to distribute the tension. It also changes your guitar tone to be very ... muddy. Imho, it renders the guitar unplayable. And before you believe that your knowledge of standard floyds will help you, mark my words that it wont: you cannot fix the issues by blocking it from floating (it has a built in screw to do this) because even if it's blocked from floating, you still have the balancing issue from the single coil. You can adjust the tension of the coil, but that doesn't fix anything. It doesn't flutter well. And, it has a tendency to dent your guitar top, even if you use the polymer mounts that come with the kit. The dent isn't from "improperly installing it too low", as many people think. The dent is from the design itself: there are two studs that simply sit on top of the guitar and you need to add the little plastic mount/platforms underneath them to prevent them from stabbing into the guitar, but they'll still dent over time.

Your'e right... It has some major design flaw's and i knew that the possibility that it wont work proper on my guitar was def there... The tone get's muddy🤔...? Hmm, only thing i noticed was that pinch harmonics are easier to catch then before... I have it on my guitar for only 3 day's now and don't wanted to rip it out and sell it on day one, if it doesn't work...I just had hopes, u know...? But it seem's i have to realize the awfull truth, not now but in near future i guess...😄
@menschlicheswesen848 ай бұрын
Oh, and to prevent damage from the stud's on the guitar's surface i used thick rubber feet i had from a pedal... Hope it work's...
@pgman54168 ай бұрын
@@menschlicheswesen84The tone might’ve been something else because i did change the string gauge at the same time. It’s still a cool bridge to tinker with and noodle. But i just wouldn’t recommend it for primary guitars. The pedal feet are definitely better than the provided pads. After i dented my Gibson, i used command strips with coins on my epiphone lolol Had no issues with dents.

Update: it was to much hassle to deal with the FRX and change tuning's... So i took it of... Also i ended up with a grounding issue, but that's my fault... Pickup screw's are dead so i can't look under the bridge pickup till i find a way to destroy the screw inside the body...😮

I had one of these Floyd Rose FRX trem systems, but it was a chrome silver one, no matter how much I adjusted it, I could not get the damn thing to work like it was supposed to, it did not hold tune at all, full stop, I even carefully went through each and every step in the installation instructions several times in a row, making sure I was doing everything absolutely right, made no difference at all.

I have only minor issue's with the bridge so far, nothing that would stop me from playing it... With that much distortion and my effects it doesn't hurt me so much...😅 But seriously, i thought about doing a video about tuning issues anyway but i need a friend to film the tuner while i'm playing... On any guitar, exept evertune i have the problem that it sounds out of tune to me when the tuner say's it's in tune... It effects only the E and A string, i have to tune them down to be satisfied... A guy said to me that this is possible on wierd body shapes but i have this problem on all guitars...🙄

Schecter is my favorite brand. Have a Evil twin with sustainiac, and a Demon 6. The Demon 6 is a great thing for the price.

@@menschlicheswesen84 You absolutely can have a sustainiac installed. It’s just very costly. You have to pay someone to route out some of the wood. And buy the unit. And pay someone to install it. It’s much more cost effective, to just buy a guitar with one.

@@menschlicheswesen84 They are really fun. But actually hard to use. You really have to mute all the other strings. Or you get obnoxious feedback. I actually use my right hand a lot, to mute the other strings. It’s a learning curve for sure.
