I think nct u can be a bit difficult to understand. Like it's not even a set unit, it's just whoever. And if someone is trying to learn members, that'll be confusing when they see an nct u video and it's members from all different units.

Yeah if you learn the members by unit it honestly doesn’t take that long. Not meaning it’s gonna take a day or two but with watching guides and some fanmade videos I’d guess a month to be able to point them out no matter hair color and voice.

To sum it up: As of 2021, there are currently 23 members in NCT 📍NCT U - rotational unit -anyone from NCT can join this unit -members change often because they picked members from different different units who fits the concept of the song 📍NCT 127 -fixed unit -active promoting in US & Japan 📍NCT Dream -youngest team -fixed unit 📍WayV -NCT's first unit outside Korea -promoting in China -does Chinese & Korean songs Also the 2 new members who debuted last year is in NCT U right now, SM will going to debut a new unit this year (with 5 new members) that is going ti promote in Japan (and that's will be the 2 new members fixed unit soon).

This is so exciting! Honestly, it's really not hard to learn NCT I promise, it's often exaggerated because of how big they are, but if you take your time and seriously dive into them, you'll have them down in no time! The good thing about NCT and their different units is how varied their music is. You'll be sure to find something you like from them and even if you don't like a song immediately, NCT songs tend to grow on you lol To answer some questions, yes this guide was before the 2 new members were added so it is 23 members now. Also, the 2018 project was before WayV debuted, but some of the WayV members were already in NCT then so they were apart of it. In NCT, members can double up between units!

For NCT 2018 "Black on Black" at the time WayV is not debuted yet but we also has 4 members of WayV (Ten, Winwin, Lucas and Kun) before they debuted with WayV in 2019 with 3 new nembers (Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang)

Everytime they add a new member/s they released a full length album featuring all members and songs from different units. NCT 2018 (18 members at that time) - Black on Black NCT 2020 (23 members) - Resonance

I would suggest doing the individual guides on the NCT Units by Softjun, I love this guide don’t get me wrong! it’s just easier together into them by unit, and you can get specifics for each group instead of general knowledge on the whole group! *edit: I am aware that some of softjun guides are a little outdated, I (as well as some of my friends) just found it easier to learn about each individual unit, than all together! like I said this guide is one I really enjoyed (I have seen both parts). I was just suggesting that sometimes individual guides are easier to digest! :D I really meant no harm! 💕🥰🙃

Alright, i'm gonna answer your questions as best as i can💚🌱 13:20 - depends on SM on which unit they decide. But, since the graduation system is thrown away NCT DREAM will function like NCT U but within dream members. 14:00 Fun Fact, the adding members & graduation system is first implemented by their senior, " SUPER JUNIOR " back in 2005. They are a team excelled to be all rounder, name it, they have it. Now, after a period of time, you will graduate & only sm knows what will happen to the them. SM didn't expect the support of the fans so they also trash the graduation system. Debuting from 12+1+2 =15 members. The fans didn't like system back then so they stop adding members 15:04 no, the 2018 empathy era, since jaemin was back, their music matured too 17:32 1st time ever Sm debut almost full chinese member with Wayv. Unlike SJ-M & EXO-M with few chinese members 18:40 FUN FACT, all EMPATHY album tracks have mv's 😃 18:40 not yet, WayV debut on Jan. 17 2019 21:58 it's called ISAC it's like olympic where all idols play on diff. Categories such as bowling, archery, rhytmic gymnastics, etc. 22:34 yes, PUBG with all other idols to compete, esports team under ISAC. Well hello, fine gentlemen. I see you’ve finally decided to react to my babies. It’s gonna be a long ass ride, but it’s gonna be good. 1. Don’t let their number of members intimidate you. I almost didn’t check them out at first because they seem “too much” but wow if it isn’t the best decision of my entire life. 2. One thing you have to know about SM is that they’re the pioneer in the industry. They always try new things and concepts and get laughed at by the kpop stans and watch the rest of the industry trying to copy them. Fun fact, the positions system that the kpop industry use (main/lead/sub vocal/dancer/rapper visual/center) was created by SM then followed by the rest of the kpop industry. 3. their sound is incredibly unique. I find that their producers just love to experiment and go as crazy as they could and I LOVE that. NCT sound wasn’t exactly welcomed by the general public at first because their music was considered “too rough” and called “noise music” as an insult (long before Stray Kids debuted, I’m a Stay too, you can tell I love these noise music). If you’re an average hip-hop/r&b music fan, like I am, NCT songs is actually the sound that you will be most familiar with, but they’re different and experimental at the same time. I say this as a multi, I love a lot of kpop groups and their music. NCT sound is THAT guy, they break boundaries and bring something that kpop just didn’t have before. I love how SM sticks to their sound and not try to fit in to what the general public would love and let the public learn to appreciate them instead. 4. they get underestimated because people only see them as EXO’s little brothers and get called a “flop” for many years before people could see how great they are. These poor kids were the punching bag of toxic kpop stans for a long time (still are actually). 5. most of these kids are introverts. I stan many groups and I can’t believe how hard it is for NCT to have friends outside of their own group. I guess it has a lot to do with how they literally grew up together and how the industry treat them in general. But they’re the most hilariously socially awkward bunch of kids I’ve ever seen in the industry. They’re sooo funny, not because they try hard to be funny but they just...are. They’re shy, quiet, awkward, but chaotic at the same time. When they’re comfortable, they’re the biggest crackheads you’ll ever meet. You’ll see once you dive deeper to their moments videos. I adore these boys so much. 6. Some of my fave youtube channels that make NCT crack videos are Banana Milk, cherryverse, and haechanzone. They’re legendary. 7. These are my babies. I have loved so many groups before them, but these boys are the ones I’m most protective of. I guess it has a lot to do with how young they were when they trained/debuted especially the Dreamies. They’re a 3rd gen group and has been in the game for 5 whole years but they’re the same age as all these 4th gen artists. They lost so much of their childhood and I’m just sad anytime a random toxic kpop stan try to invalidate their success. Being from a big 3 company and living under their seniors’ shadow actually kept them under scrutiny and insulted because they don’t succeed as fast as EXO did. It took NCT many years, but I feel like 2020 was finally the year they became a contender for all these other big names. I feel like a proud older sister everytime I see them achieve something *sniffs* 8. I’m gonna repeat what everybody already said and tell you that Mark actually didn’t start in Dream then graduate into 127. Him and Haechan were in 127 since the debut, they were in Dream and 127 at the same time. Mark was actually one of the 5 members chosen for the original debut line in NCT U with the song The 7th Sense! He was everywhere lmao. Good luck on your journey! the units pretty much for the most part function as their own groups that overlaps & occasionally combine together or rotate members (nct u) ~because on charts and ranking and music show promotions/albums-they are separated as an individual groups as opposed to being looked at as actual units like other groups’ kinds

I don't know WHY SM think that idea of graduation was a good one. Super Junior (in 2005) should be a temporary group and actually the fans didn't like that sh*t. Why they tried that again? I feel so happy when they changed their minds.

Super excited to watch you learn more aboot the members and the units! It's probably going to take you a while to memorize all the manes but the unit concept itself is actually not that difficult! I'm sure that you'll get the hang of it quickly :) Since you haven't checked out any of their music (almost) yet, I strongly suggest to react to the MVs in release order. At least for the NCT Dream releases bc you can literally see them grow from kids to adults throughout their comebacks! For the other units any order is fine tbh:) But with NCT Dream it's a huge "shock" at first when they change their cute/young concept for the first time during NCT 2018 era with the song "Go". That's kind of the main reason why I'm reccomending watching their MVs in order :) Anyways I'm suuuuuuper excited to go on this journey with you :)

If you decide to go from latest to old Their recent album is NCT 2020 Resonance which is a combined project including all 21members of NCT+2new members. The album is devided into two parts. All the songs in this album comes under NCT-U .

Most of nctzens hate the graduation system cuz it separated the boys and they basically grew up together, you can see in their interaction how close they are and some even said that outside of Nct Dream they don’t really have friends (plus the emotional distress, bc they didn’t know what would happen after the graduation and if they would be able to perform together again). Mark was part of 127 and Dream since the beginning

You have to watch NCT life on patreon. Theres loads of seasons, most of which only have 7 or 8 members at a time so i think it would help to get to know the members that get outshined in the guides and complilations. it's thier varierty show; each season has a theme and its so funny

Basically with WayV up until the resonance album in 2020, SM tried to distance them from the "NCT" as much as possible to the point where the members weren't allowed to mention each other

The beginning where they named the units is the order that they debuted in : NCT U debuted in April of 2016; NCT 127 debuted in July of 2016 (who originally were 7 members: Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Mark, and Haechan, and then added Doyoung and Johnny in 2017, and then Jungwoo was added in 2018. In 2019, Winwin, an original member since 2016 stopped promoting with them, but has not officially left the group); NCT DREAM debuted in August of 2016 (who originally had a concept that members would leave when they turned 20 in korean age, 19 internationally, so Mark left at the end of 2018. But then in 2020 it was announced that Mark was rejoining, and the concept was getting replaced so that they work like NCT U where they would be rotational but only with the 7 members of Dream. And now all 7 members are participating in the NCT DREAM full album coming up) Jaemin was absent from two comebacks due to a back injury. and WayV who debuted in January of 2019
