Maybe a bit off topic: When it comes to flying at night or in IMC, it’s not easy to keep an airport within gliding distance, at all times. Any tips for single-engine pilots flying when farm fields aren’t visible?

You have to be very careful flying single engine airplanes at night. Just remember altitude is your friend!
