Bishop Tissier was the main one of many who went to Archbishop Lefebvre for help, when the French Seminary in Rome was disciplining Seminarians for reciting the Rosary and wearing cassocks. Archbishop Lefebvre, preparing for retirement, hesitated at 1st. The Seminarians begged him again for help. So this is how the SSPX came about. Bishop Tissier was later ordained into the Priesthood and assisted in the day-to-day running of the house in Écône.

Thank you for your comments. I was blessed to have met and talked with Bishop Tissier on several occasions. He gave me a conditional confirmation when just coming into the traditional Catholic faith. The Holy Bishop and the SSPX have been a real help and blessing to me.

Bishop Tissuer confirmed my son last year. He's now legend. What happens now? We need more Bishops in the SSPX and the so called"Schism" accusations will come up. This could bring to light Francis' heresy and his legitimacy so it may be a blessing in disguise. Eternal rest.

We do not have the authority to make a legal declaration but we can recognize error when we see it and we know that such a one is anathematized.

Father Rostand, a favorite of Fellay turned out to be a sexual predator. I WAIT AND SEE if they dare to consecrate a bishop. Apostate Rome has refused to grant permission. The FSSP DO NOT HAVE A BISHOP.

Church Militant did a deep dive on the Écône consecrations. Abp. Lefebvre had (finally) gotten the green light to consecrate the four candidates, but he was supposed to wait for paperwork that would be REQUIRED to be present in the consecrating Mass. Abp. Lefebvre chose to proceed without that paperwork, thereby rendering the consecrations invalid. (CM obtained video footage of the Mass. It embedded the part where the paperwork was supposed to be presented - and it can be clearly seen that no paperwork was presented - in one of its SSPX exposé videos, which I saw.) Then, to worsen the situation, the SSPX powers-that-were during Pope Benedict XVI's pontificate rebuffed his overtures to bring the SSPX back to regular status EVEN THOUGH he lifted the various levied excommunications! 🤨 I applaud the SSPX's effort to preserve Catholic orthodoxy and traditional Catholicism, but it mustn't ignore valid procedures along the way. I can't support the SSPX until it's returned to regular status by a pope who at least appears to be an orthodox Catholic (meaning not Bergoglio or anyone like him). I don't know what to make of Bp. Tissier de Mallerais, but I do hope that God rests his soul in peace.

Much of that is not true. AB Lefebvre did not get a green light on 4 bishops nor was it simply a matter of filling out paperwork. AB Lefebvre wanted Rome's approval but the conditions could not be met. Indeed, there were negotiations but never an agreement and Rome continued to ask for delays. At some point this could not continue. The SPPX cannot just agree to regularization if they are also asked to agree to certain ideas that contradict the faith. That's the problem.

@@johnnyproctor You have your opinion, I have mine. Until it imploded, CM was the most thorough and (apparently) reliable Catholic news source that I could consult. I even led the CM Resistance chapter in my diocese for a while. I felt betrayed when CM imploded. It has been resurrected as Souls & Liberty Action Network, and has asked me to rejoin it, but I can't bring myself to do so. I'm open to suggestions. I generally don't have time for reading or long videos (which is one reason why I like The Catholic Esquire).
