I would like to transition to the motor unit as soon as my stint in patrol is up. The motor officers at my department also said the motor officer course was very challenging. I haven't ridden in almost 20 years, back when I had a baby 250cc bike. I definitely need to retake the MSF Basic Riders course again as a refresher. But I'm wondering what aspects of the motor officer course makes it particularly challenging? The acting sergeant of our motor unit said that they have had 5 officers whom they sent to motor course that didn't make it.

@sdlock83 The course is 90% mental. I took complete focus on the instructors. They were great. My Motor Academy offered pre-training which I highly recommend! Pre-training consisted of going to their Motor training at least once a week for a few weeks. They will work with you one to one to prepare you for the course. Taking an updated Motorcycle riding course is highly recommended because they will teach you proper habits and riding techniques. If you get past the first two days, you should make it. I work in parking at a concert venue and there's two motorcycle cops on Haleys that come out for every show. Watching them ride is mesmerizing. Those dudes are the real deal.

Good on em but one question? Why arent ANY of the students wearing safety gear? For gods sake a few of em are wearing their uni shirts with bare arms and zero leg protection...lol Have a proper wreck on a public road like that, lemme know how that works out for you...
