My aunt got food poisoning once and it took her stomach literal years to recover. Essential she could barely keep any food down. Over the years she lost so much weight she didn't look like the same person. They finally found a doctor who was able to help her figure out a diet that would allow her to get enough calories without puking half of them up, so that her body would actually have time to heal itself. She's recovered now but she's still extremely careful about what she eats. It's not as bad as... You know... This video. But yeah. Don't eat raw meat kiddos

: Anocris : hey how about you look up a wet market, they came about during the famine caused by Mao Zedong’s “Great Leap Forward”. People in China had nothing to eat due to mao ordering the extermination of sparrows, which lead to pests getting out of control, meaning that their agricultural sector was completely devastated. The only thing that could be eaten, were animals, and the first to be eaten were the live stock (cows, pigs, chickens) followed by pets (dogs and cats) and finally, when all else was in such short supply that it was necessary, wild animals and vermin (monkeys, rats, frogs, bats). There are even some reports of cannibalism happening in more remote areas, however their validity’s questionable. The wet markets came about as a way for people with thing to trade to get food from those who had (ironically, capitalism saved the great socialist state of chine from even greater starvation), these markets still continue as a sort of cultural relic, while still being a very cheap source of food for the downtrodden of Chinese society albeit a very dubiously safe one. So in summer, yes by comparison to a lot of place in the world, even a lot of places in Asia, the Chinese will eat just about anything and it is you who should educate yourself. It is the ignorant who love to accuse others of ignorance.

Just got out of the hospital. Here in the US got a worm my brain 🧠. I had 1 seizure then I went to the hospital and got another in the middle of explaining it to the doctors. MRI confirmed I had a pork parasite 🦠 in my brain. They gave me medicine and watched me for a few days and I just got discharged today after 4 days in the hospital. I felt fine after they gave me steroids I only felt loopy with the anti anxiety medicine that doubles as anti seizure medicine. Thank god I’m home with my wife and kids. Don’t eat raw pork kiddos. Probably got it when I went to Mexico. Doctor said it could of been in me for years, like 7-10 years. I just realized while watching this video how rare it is. Something that I keep thinking about how little warning I had. No headache, only 2 seizures 1 hour apart.

So, in Germany there is a dish called "Mettbrötchen". It's raw pork meat on a bun and usually has onions on it. The only reason you can consume it without any negative health effects is because the german food regulations are incredibly strict and "Mett" is a always prepared fresh. Also you should consume on the same day you bought it (or cook it). For foreigner it often sounds disturbing and they are scared, but I definitely recommend to try it once, if you come to Germany, because you'll most likely never taste anything like that in any other country.

It should be easier to access, or at the very least when necessary or a choice between life and death, not free. Doctors need to get paid somehow, cause if not, no one would want to be a doctor because they wouldn't get paid. Maybe we'd have volunteers left and there, but I doubt a surgeon would sit there for 9 hours straight performing a stressful operation just to get compensated with a few grateful smiles. Yes, it's a great feeling, but it won't pay the bills or feed his or her family.

There are relatively few surnames in China, so most Chinese share their surname widely with MANY others. It's very common in Chinese media and literature to identify someone by their surname alone as this is usually enough to preserve anonymity. Therefore, it's possible that the Chinese patient really was named Zhu (朱). There are over 18 Million of them in mainland China alone! That said, it's also possible that this alias was chosen deliberately, as it sounds exactly the same in mandarin (even the tone) as the word for "pig."

My aunt passed away from Prion, which is a disease you can get from eating meat with the infected nervous system. (like mad cow disease) It slowly "eats" away all the protein you have in your body. It's not common, but in underdeveloped parts of the world could have higher chances with less guidelines. I thought this video was going to cover that but nonetheless still very informative
@dr.altoclef92552 жыл бұрын
I don’t know if there was one discovered purely in pork(and if there was, cooking it wouldn’t have helped). I know that cows, sheep and species like deer and elk have these prion diseases, and we can catch ‘variant CJD’ by eating infected beef, but I don’t know if there’s one for pigs and I don’t know if scrapie or CWD can pass into humans.
