For clarification sake, this case was originally a new case for the DS version of the game. The developpers, wanting to make the most of the new system, added the option to rotate the evidences (which would become a staple for games following the original trilogy) and to take fingerprints by blowing onto the mic. This is also the reason why the quality of the animations have been highly improved.

In order to completely get rid of a fingerprint, you would need to get rid of every layer of skin up to at least one millimetre deep. Anything less could permanently scar the fingerprint, but not erase it from the finger. So the regrown skin wouldn't have the fingerprint on it.

The prosecutors job is to try and prove the defendant committed the crime, if they were allowed to go picking on whoever they want then the jury wouldn’t get a thorough enough understanding of the case. A thing I really like about Dan’s joke voices, especially in this playthrough in particular, is that after making the joke voice he slowly begins to solidify it, unconsciously. Take the Goofy judge for example, it lost a small brunt of the goofy voice, merging with his normal voice to become the judge character’s voice. Sure, there are certain moments where he specifically exaggerates it, but just that little bit of normalcy in the voice makes it so much more authentic.

7:18 usually when you're securing a crime scene, the tape goes out way further than that. Even if they don't know for sure if it needs to be as large as it is, they'd rather have the tape go out too much than too little because of the possibility of evidence being disturbed. The perimeter of that crime scene would probably go across most of the floor of that parking garage, because a suspect could've dropped weapons or anything. Idk how it works if they've already apprehended a suspect, but that's what I was taught in forensic science class in high school so it HAS to be true

Tbf they confirm that the defendant was standing still the whole time, the bias detective lunch person confirmed it at the start so yeah, also I don’t think gumshoe was the lead detective in this case so obviously they screwed up

Wait, you got to do a forensic science class in high school?! My school didn't have anything nearly that cool. But I think he was referring to the outline of the body. These days chalk (or tape) outlines are very rare, if not totally obsolete. If I remember correctly, the body was outlined before being taken away, to help investigators remember where the body was and what position it was in. But in this case, it's kind of hilarious that they have the tape outline of the body literally hanging out of the trunk.

Yeah this case is really long (definitely the longest feeling of the first two games), has a lot of loose ends in the beginning but at the end makes a lot of sense and is a really interesting story. It’s crazy that RT was able to fit the case into a 2 1/2hrs video with the original vods being about 7 and 9 hours respectively with the case still making sense, big props
