"two negatives make a positive" That comment was hilarious by the Muslim. Everyone should be more like that with the small things in the world.

This. This is what arguments about religion should look like. Hold firm to whichever beliefs you can, if that is important to you, but acknowledge that others can hold different or no belief just as firmly, and just as you know they are absolutely wrong, you must accept they too know YOU are absolutely wrong. That way, no matter what, you are able to sit and drink and laugh as brothers and sisters, as humans, and not become monsters to one another.

@@anyohoww Everything we KNOW is just thinking something with a great deal of conviction. I KNOW you are a human being. (But you might not be). I use the word KNOW because many, many people know things that just isn't so. I've met too many people who reject the idea that they 'think' something. They will respond with 'no, I KNOW it!'. Rather than but heads with that entrenched point, better to embrace it. Ok. You know it. I know different. Rather than fortified retreat of a position, you now get to talk about how you each know what you know. But yeah... I'm on the same page as you.

Kacper Bigos it’s hypocritical because these men, as representatives of their respective religions, spend their lives preaching to others to live their best, most moral and ethical lives and show respect for their fellow men - to live lives that set an example to all others. Yet here they all sit declaring support for a man they clearly know to espouse none of those principles. Suddenly, in that one innocent question (“do you think he’s a good man?”) they are confronted with that realisation.

You don't appreciate how much work he puts into his pieces. It may sound off the cuff, but his best one-hour shows are meticulously planned. He talks about it in some interviews. Even in this discussion, I think he came with a couple of prepared lines and laid out traps. I think the real difference is between stuff Jim does on his own, and stuff he delivers but a whole team worked on.

The year was 2004. In a small sleepy college town called Moscow, Idaho. We all learned about Ramadan. Because we had the munchies and the only thing that could sate us was a Shawarma. Every establishment we knew we could get one of the said delicacy was closed for Ramadan. A cultural punch to the solar plexus.

Rather an arrogant assumption don'cha think? People are driven by any number of things such as self preservation, greed, hunger, lust, curiosity, boredom, etc. What first brought people together was a desire to survive. Ancient predators were very hungry and primitive humans were very tasty, I assume. Faith is largely wishful thinking and self deception, don't just assume everyone is like that.
