@@EthanfromEngland- Jenna's content made many of her fans feel like they were hanging out in their friend's living room every Wednesday/Thursday. Having her leave can really feel like losing a friend. I get that is odd to someone who wasn't impacted by her content. She has every right to live her life as she pleases. Ideally Jenna could have been more open about her struggles and could have felt comfortable changing her schedule or content to fit the life changes she felt she needed. I think Jenna genuinely had fun making the videos she made. You cannot fake the joy she displayed in so much of her content. In a perfect world Jenna would make videos when she wanted to, we could all catch up with her and the dogs from time to time and she could still find the peace she was seeking. I still hope she comes back eventually but I'm not holding my breath and i wish her and Julien the best.

It’s extra aggravating bc I feel like the best way to normalize it IS for him to bring her up in conversation, like you would if you were catching up with friends weekly or so but without all the hoopla because obviously that’s not how your friends would react to you bringing up your long term partner in normal conversation. The more rare it is, the more of a reaction people are gonna have unfortunately. But he also shouldn’t be expected to talk about her all the time or on demand because that’s not what we’re here for in the first place and it would disrespect her wishes. I'm glad he spoke up for himself. I don't watch twitch often but I like to catch some of his stream when I do. Julien raided a smaller streamer and the chat used it as an opportunity to talk about how they miss Jenna and want her back online. It felt awful to be around, like it was behind his back and put the streamer in an awkward position. Julien and Jenna are people, and should be respected face to face or behind curtains. Also, Julien is super talented and if part of his following doesn't see that than its a real loss for them.

And Jennas videos were a big part of a lot of peoples lives. Change this big is never easy in any situation. And yes all the people who stop listening to what he's saying and are just freaking out about Jannas name being mentioned are being a little dramatic. But there are those of us who do listen to him. Personally, my heart jumps every time he says her name now. That isn't something you can control or change. It is something that happens psychologically and subconsciously. It's the same as a close friend moving away and you have no contact with them. Or a break up (relationship or friendship). It's losing a person you saw once a week for years in a matter of minutes. Of course I'm being a little dramatic but it's very similar. People, myself included, feel a connection to her and her content. We grew up with her. Fanatics become so emotionally involved with the people they admire they become entitled and self-centered to the point of delusion. sadly, this happens within the dink fam as well. i've seen comments on Julien's videos begging him to please get Jenna on camera without her noticing so they can have their "Jenna Marbles dose", as if she was some character and her boundaries shouldn't be respected. even on this video you can see someone saying I MISS HER SORRY NOT SORRY when he's being vulnerable and opening up about a sensitive issue for him. people suck.

Since "normalizing Jenna's absence from the internet" also comes in hand with people being respectful of Julien's and Jenna's boundaries, and NOT flooding Julien's videos with comments about Jenna everytime there is the tiniest sign of her presence in his videos. They live together, Jenna is doing great and enjoying her new way of living, people should come to terms with that, and respect that. I think the more Julien brings her up in a casual light, the more he says her name and then goes back to playing a video game the more people will get used to it. The chat would be inundated with mentions of her, which I get that dinks would be excited. Right now mentioning Jenna or hearing about her is kind of like hearing about an illusive family member that you got along with as a kid and you vibe with them and they were your fav ever but they moved away, and every time your uncles or your mom mentions that side of the family you get excited because “Oh! I hope they’re doing okay!!” When all your mom said was “[cousins mom] said they saw snow for the first time.” Shout out to Julien, tho. He’s gotta deal with that on a large scale, I literally can’t imagine how frustrating that is. Patience of a literal saint. I'd like to normalise it too, but i do sense a lack of closure. She's a person, she *should* make decisions that better her life. Let's be honest though, the concern for Jenna's well being is pretty valid. I'm not trying to defend being creepy, but Jenna gave up, in the blink of an eye, a hugely public facing and well paying career with an audience of literal millions for an issue that most people didn't even see or believe was that big of a deal, especially compared to other legitimately awful people still raking in money in this platform. And then essentially isolates herself from literally everything. Like, that is a MASSIVE, hugely impactful life change that very few people will ever make, and also has a lot of signs of things like severe depression and anxiety. People are correct to be concerned for Jenna's mental health and well being, especially when we get basically no news of her at all for months and months. Again, Julien is his own person and should be able to talk about his life with Jenna without things getting creepy and uncomfortable, but the situation with Jenna is pretty extreme in a lot of ways.

I think there continues to be a lot of sadness around it because of the way being a KZbinr ended for her. She is such a positive light for her viewers, so having it end on a negative and abrupt note was devastating, and makes many of us really concerned for her. Also being 100% honest, I haven’t watched a ton of videos so I’m not an expert, but you seem a lot more serious, almost somber in your more recent content whereas in her videos you were always laughing and goofy. I think that plus her never being seen anymore makes it harder to believe all is well for you guys. And so as fans, we were just waiting for any sort of update since she abruptly left the online space 6 months ago. I feel like the nature of her sign-off fuels this fire really. Especially with them not giving any sort of clear answer to what was going on/the future when everything first happened. I am not saying they should give us a clear answer btw. I think Julien gave Jenna well-deserved space from the public eye by not answering those kind of questions, but to us as viewers it came across as all things Jenna is forbidden now. Like, I am not the only one that got that vibe, right? It's definitely understandable why the public has such a reaction whenever Julien mentions her. She was a massive youtuber and she had a large following and background and for her to become absent online was quite devestating for individuals who followed her and looked forward to her videos. However, Julien is not Jenna. If Julien didn't have a twitch channel or youtube channel or an online following in general, this wouldn't be happening and everyone would just continue on respecting Jenna and her privacy. It's evident that Julien is the closest thing to Jenna that we will get right now and maybe for a while, but Julien is not a tunnel that connects us as fans to Jenna and her life. She is a person and she left for a reason and we all need to respect her and Julien who has been struggling with creating content during her absence. Julien has 2 youtube channels, streams on twitch every day, has 2 twitters and is pumping out content left and right. He is his OWN youtuber and his OWN person. He is not a Jenna fill in. He is her partner but he isn't responsible to appease Jenna's following just because he is close to her. We all need to respect them as a family and give Jenna her privacy and Julien support. This is my feeling too. Jenna was one of the only reasons I watched KZbin. I followed her since the beginning and I would log on religiously every week to watch her. So while I understand she wanted this, it is hard when someone/something that was a part of your routine for 10 years is gone. I know we weren’t her friends but it feels like I lost a friend.
