There are always nicer ways to say something vs saying it meanly to help someone learn and grow. @@kiiturii heres the difference, it was obvious that op had feelings for this "friend" they constantly put this friend before their own gf so ofc she would feel that way when once again after doing it time and time again she is put second. If it was just ONE incident then yes I would agree with you, but it was obvious that op did this regularly and some people just have a breaking point where they can't take it anymore. the problem here was why didnt op invite her to dalies with them? like why is op constantly putting a random friend over their own gf and not even thinking twice to invite her to do things. she already stated that was her problem and op continued to disrespect her feelings. if the friends breakup is so serious she shouldn't be doing dailies anyways and should be focusing on her mental health, she did not require only op to join her dalies, op and his gf could have both joined her with no problem. op constantly was not including his gf in anything, that is also a real world problem, their relationship was also being strained and close to breakup, do the gf feelings not matter as much as the "friend"? a very real world problem of the gf's feelings was being hurt and op did nothing about it other than dismiss her over and over and call her immature, that is toxic. I sincerely hope OP learns something from this. If you get too connected to people that you don't know IRL and on a game, you can easily be tricked. OP also needs to learn priorities. If you commit to a relationship or partner, you need to always put them first. I was Mickey once, and I learned fast when someone doesn't consider you a priority that they aren't worth the commitment. Its a 2 person job. Please learn boundaries, priorities and how to commit. Its fun drama to read, but its not fun to go through.

I listened to the story thrice to get to the last part but every time, I could only get until the end of Mickey’s story because I zone out after feeling very sorry for Mickey and not completely hear the rest of the story. OP probably knows what they’re doing is wrong. They’ve admitted that they were suppressing feelings. They also suspected Lola liked them at the beginning. However, they’ve convinced themselves (with the help of Lola and Serena) that it’s Mickey’s fault for Mickey feeling that way because Mickey’s allegedly “immature” and what Mickey is feeling or done is not caused by anything OP has contributed or done. OP also kept defending Lola for flirting with her because it doesn’t hurt OP. It will stroke anybody’s ego when they feel they’re “wanted” by other people. However, it clearly hurt their girlfriend who they were in a relationship with. Regardless of whether Lola liked OP that way or not, it’s responsibility of the one in the relationship to put boundaries. They’re the one in a relationship with Mickey, who is clearly not okay with it and communicated so but instead, they defended Lola instead of telling Lola to stop because Mickey’s not okay with it. Nobody should have to endure their partner completely disregard their feelings. Even if OP wanted to believe there’s nothing wrong unless they act on it, they were already playing with fire or spark? and Mickey clearly saw that and it was breaking her heart. However, OP just “bla bla” her communicating her feelings just shows Mickey wasn’t as important as Mickey held OP and I think it was best for Mickey indeed to move on and find a partner who will treasure her as much as she treasures her partner. If OP wants several non committal relationships, it’s fine as well but they have to find partners who are okay with that kind of setup. I think in the end, they just didn’t match in what they were looking for in a relationship so I do agree that it was best they broke up. However, it wasn’t Mickey’s fault when Mickey probably thought the relationship setup was monogamous and committed (I apologize if wrong), so it isn’t surprising she had expectations. If OP wanted to make the relationship work, they could’ve accepted Mickey’s feelings and thought of a compromise with Mickey because that’s what you do in a relationship, not just make Mickey “endure” for “maturity” and call her a child for being hurt by someone’s actions. It wasn’t like Mickey was barring OP from having friends and was super accommodating to OP’s friends so far as to become best friends with Dylan. Mickey just wanted attention from their girlfriend and if OP couldn’t give that to her, or even set minimum boundaries, then I personally think it’s best OP not be in a committed relationship and stick to having friends or be in non committed relationships. If OP communicated that their relationship was non committal from the start then I could still understand OP’s actions just a little even if I don’t agree with how they went about things but from the story, I don’t think that was the case. If OP wants to be in committed relationships then I think they have to learn to set boundaries where their partner doesn’t feel comfortable.

i don't think your romantic partner should be prioritized over your friends. if your partner is communicating their feelings absolutely. you owe them care and attention - but not to be put OVER friends on any normal day. especially if a friend has pointedly said they went through something miserable like a breakup. if my friend needs me then i will be there. mickey should have communicated early on that she was feeling pushed aside so that the problem could be addressed. some people need that clarity. /i'm/ the type of person who needs that clarity. and it's never - EVER because i don't care. it's because i don't read tone as well as others and subtext is completely lost on me. i've had WONDERFUL partners and currently have friends who will tell me point blank what it is they need. it's healthy and i'm glad we can understand one anothers needs HOWEVER: - OP emotionally cheated. she's scum - OP should NOT have ripped into her ex like that. completely unacceptable and belittling language - once it was unmistakable that mickey was uncomfortable, a conversation should have happened. mickey should have said something from the jump, yes. but at a certain point OP /KNEW/ mickey was uncomfortable. her behavior following that was awful - lola is nuts

hate to say but, ya you put your relationship first. No one is perfect and not everyone has perfect communication. Emotions can drive impulses. We all come from differing backgrounds, so some have an easier time then other expressing themselves. Some try not to rock the boat and simply suffer i silence. As a partner you need to pick up o things and be aware of sudden changes in behavior. if your partner ness a voice call suddenly w/o a word you check in with them and ask, whats up. Sometimes friends can be overly needy and not respect your relationship.

Normally don’t post ever on KZbin but after watching this video I had to say something. OP, the story is not written well. The beginning and end don’t tie into the middle at all. First, you mention Lola. Then we go into drama between you, your girl and other girls you’ve met along the way. Then we end with Lola which quite frankly I forgot about after hearing the sad story of Mickey. I think the story should have been about one or other story to be truthful. To OP, Mickey had every right to be upset. Placing others you just met above someone you chose to be romantic with and share a piece of yourself with is wrong. You belittling her about her feelings isn’t called for. Try to be kind to others feelings in the future as you wish others would be to you.

11:35 --- I have/had a friend in FF14 like that, too: he would just collect people into his CWL just from running dungeons with them and striking a conversation... Not to do anything with it but he would just put people there, especially Sprouts, so they had a network to start with. Sadly he stopped playing a year ago. He seems a bit clingy but regardless, I still write him eyvery odd week or month, just to check if he's still alive ^^° 14:20 --- I think, Mickey has been adding to the issue. After all, she flirted with at least Lola that we know of, mayby other girls, too?, so OP doesnt see the issue... neither do I, and yes, I'm female... Also, this is all happening ingame, we dont know how OP treats Mickey when they are alone together, maybe shopping or somesuch, go for dinner or having a date. I actually think its good that OP doesnt automatically focusses her girlfriend, but also appreciates and has contact with other people. We just had the story with the guy who scammed the OP and who was only focussing her and had no interests in other players. It's really strange to me seeing everyone here say that partners take priority over friends. In my experiences my partners have always understood that friends in need take priority over partners. If my partner's friend had a break-up, if they're crying and hurt, I would support my partner in taking care of those in need. I *have* . Sprouts, people going through a break up, I would never consider myself more important than those in need. At the end of the day your partner will always be there. It's definitely true that things can *appear* different to one's partner, but you should be able to talk about it. It's impossible to see which way the communication blame leads but on the surface level, Mickey also holds some responsibility to give the benefit of the doubt and communicate before things become an issue. I can say from experience... if you give your partner everything what will you do when that world comes tumbling down? Good friends need lots of attention too, and as a partner you should be understanding that they need those safety nets. Even if you trust your own actions and want them to trust yours, you can't trust your own mortality. Mickey's way of just bitterly insulting her partner because of pent up resentment was horrible to hear. You need to talk about things before you end up subconsciously purposefully hurting your partner like that. Specifically would like to call out the part where OP said that Mickey and Lola flirted all the time. OP thinking she's a victim isn't right either though. That's how relationship are, sometimes you just kinda hurt each other.

(If you read plz read all of it, it is an in-depth breakdown of the story) In the beginning I feel bad for OP, and I feel like they’re miss judged with the intent to finding partners but it sounds like they just really like to make friends. And I’m not the biggest fan of mickey with her current passive entitlement, yes you put your gf first but it shouldn’t be used against you especially if you’re trying to help others and you communicated that. And even when other people want to to interact with OP its seen as something negative and flirty and it believe they just want to keep up with friends as much as their gf instead of ditching them (the common scenario). However against op it seems like they didn’t care as much about mickys emotions about the game and being left in game hurts as much IRL and I would say it also seemed like a lot very bad communication on both ends. After OPs breakup I don’t know the in-depth of but I can actually see Nicky not being a good GF as it seems she was very entitled and clingy. it’s reasonable that they still liked Serena , but it was good on OP to set boundaries while Serena had a bf. Sometimes you find out that a relation ship doesn’t workout sooner and sometimes it’s for the best, not being friends after that is all too common, sorry op. In the end of the story I don’t have much to say I’m neutral, and that op was right for leaving Lola and confronting her that’s pretty insane what she did. however revisiting the being I’ll have to say the I’m doubling down on my opinion about micky and infact is mostly acting out of jealousy the part of the aether currents was silly bc they’re arnt a necessity either, I understand being jealous of the flirting but instantly leaving a VC is a bit much especially if micky does the same thing but flirts back. Nicky’s comment about Dylan was supper of putting and seemed like it was some way to joke and cope with her jealousy. As for her meeting for Serena I understand a simple friendship bonding over music it happens in faerie all the time, love thoes gays. Also checking up on a friend after the breakup I would say is normal and ide also be excited for some juicy drama. As for their fight about queues , micky can wait but it’s obvious that they want the attention instead and are also jealous of the amount of attention Op gets in the friend group. With that and some entitlement issues I would believe OP when she said she was tired of emotional abuse outside of game, Mickey kinda felt like a hypocrite.

Dear OP, I hope you are reading this and understand that emotional cheating IS a thing and it can hurt your partner. They may not show it openly and may say some sly stuff so they don't come off as a jealous "clingy" partner. But understand that love and relationships have conditions for some people. Don't let anyone tell you differently love in a relationship is unconditional, it's not. It would be best if you discussed those conditions with your partner so that the two of you can come to an understanding. Neglecting your partner to prioritize your friends can hurt your partner. XD This is why parents need to parent, and kids need to stay off the internet unless they have parental supervision (until they become a legal adult), because there's literally no logical reason for kids to be online and there's some dangerous ped0s and manipulative people out there who will try to take advantage of minors. I do understand that you can't read minds but sometimes people just would like you to put the extra effort in to help them without needing to be asked. for example, i live with my bf, sometimes he randomly does some of my chores the same as I do his sometimes, we don't need to ask because we want to help each other. I feel for the gf to be honest but she should of expressed how she was feeling tho, but I know I would be upset if my partner was spending all their time helping someone and ignoring me too. It was not even half done. Even with the lack of communication regarding her issues, she was still the most reasonable person in the story. I disgree with the majority here. Partners don't come over friends, nor vice versa. The people you love, whether romantically or platonically, should all be tended to equally by you and entirely depends on the help they communicate to you (which the GF only does after getting passive aggressive and gaslighting OP and making a whole mess out of something that could've been handled maturely). I think OP has every right to make friends and socialize and not isolate herself with only her GF, especially that they were IRL girlfriends and also hangout outside of the game, while OP can only hangout with her FF friends in-game. Besides, it wasnt like she was ignoring or ditching her GF, she literally included her in everything and introduced her to everyone, she shouldn't have to coddle and baby an adult who refuses to speak up when they need help and instead lets the resentment build up. The GF's jealousy is out of place here as well, since OP was just being friendly, but i think its because she wasnt being given all the attention (which is a really unhealthy way of thinking). The double standard thing made me sad, it seems like OP was being treated unfairly just because she was a masculine lesbian (masc=men=bad?), while the GF didn't even think twice to jokingly flirt with Lola (while OP never did). Partners aren't your personal butlers or servants that tend to your every need and want, its a partnership not an ownership, and you should be rooting for each other and making sure that non-romantic needs are also tended to, otherwise it wont last and plenty of issues will rise down the line. You also don't want your entire world to fall apart when you break up with someone because you focused your entire day-to-day energy and attention on them. That's just the reality of anything long-term. I hope OP is okay now, and I'm glad she set her boundaries and prioritised herself here because it seems like the people that were around her only wanted to use her to fulfil their own emotional needs.

The problem is with ditching her partner to hang out with someone else is they had made plans to run content with each other. When she ditched Mickey to go with the other girl after she had split up with her boyfriend she was literally in the middle of doing something with her. I would be pissed with my boyfriend as well if he did something like that. She has all the time in the world to contact her ask how she was doing before that point, yet chose that point to see if she was OK. Why do you need to wait till she is in game to ask her if she was such a good friend. Yes me and my partner would drop everything for our friends but if we had something prearranged with each other then I'm sorry friends can wait. The only time I would say we wouldn't mind dropping everything is if it was something super serious, but something trivial you shouldn't have to give that person all the attention.

Personally, I was like this once. Completely oblivious to the fact that my friend took everything I was doing as not wanting to hang out with them and or hanging around about potential partners. When I thought I was just helping out friends and stuff, but in fact I was neglecting my now friend (of whom I really liked and still do) and treating them as "just a friend". In their time of need I wasn't there and hanging out with my other friends, and I couldn't get it through that I wanted to be there for them. However, I realized that not all people communicate through words alone, actions such keeping space between you two really shows what is needed. I know it's not exactly like the story, but I get the perspective OP has lol.
