I don't have any events involving romance in ffxiv, but boy, I have one with WoW. I met a guy when I enter a new guild, since my last one was ending in a complete chaos, and I though 'Oh, this gus is cool, he's nice, kind, caring...' Made new friends, our group were really close to each other. It had a couple and another guy, so we decided to do Mythic Dungeons and raids, and boy... I was not interested, but endend doing anyway. I don't know when me and this first guy, I'll call him Jack (I don't even remember his name lmao), start to liking each other, but we did and started to date. At first, everything okay, everything good! But then, one day Jack started to arguing with me, saying I was doing my rotation wrong and stuff like that, even yelling to me shut up, everything in front of our three friends. I'll resume, we did broke up, he was really toxic and our friends endend to move away from him too, staying with me. Several years later, I droped WoW and one day, one friend of this group came to me saying "I can't believe, Jack was a fake." In other words, I dated a fake lol (Looking back now, idk I never doubuting him, he said he had a owl. living in a apartament. IN A BIG CITY.) Also, sorry for my english, isn't my first language!

Honestly, I cannot judge OP cuz I have been there before. It really is true, seeds planted can sow the worst plants. I don't know how she presented the situation to her mans when Catherine sowed that seed, but maybe if she explained from the beginning who Catherine was and how she was, maybe he would have not listened to her. I also have the motto that if you believed some total stranger over me who'm you have known longer, than I don't have anything to say to you. Just means you never believed or trusted my character from the beginning. He has to remember he allowed that seed to grow in his mind and grow into an ugly flower before deciding to try and tackle it. OP isn't telling us how he was with her and I can only imagine as someone who has experienced all different types of relationships. If her mans didn't give her a space for her to be vulnerable, then how can she confide in him how she feels? Sure, she could have told him and let it fall on deaf ears, but whose to say she didn't? Whose to say he would have listened? I honestly think she should have stayed and not move. But, at least she can say she tried everything before giving it ALL up. Honestly, OP says she's not innocent, but if things really went as she claimed, she was set up by Catherine, Craig pushed OP away because he bought into Catherine's doubt-sewing, OP considered cheating, and certainly crossed that line emotionally, but she did everything she could to be loyal to Craig as he was pushing her away, and even then did not violate trust by going around behind his back. OP was clear with Deryk that she was taken, he focused on his own relationship in turn, and in the end nothing even happened. Sounds like OP was just wronged through and through, though this story reeks of omitted details imo, I get the feeling there's a lot more to this.

Nah, OP's right, she's definitely not innocent. Doesn't matter if someone's trying to sabotage your relationship by sowing doubt, if you considered cheating, and you lean into those thoughts, those are _your_ actions, not just the saboteur's. @rugalbernstein5913 I think some really frank and open conversations were needed once she acknowledged her desire for Deryk, but I personally blame Craig more than anyone else. He didn't trust his partner's word, got suspicious based on a stranger's transparent pot-stirring, he pushed OP away, and then when she got tired of feeling alone while with him he suddenly wanted OP back. To me it's mostly just a case of a lack of real trust and then regret on Craig's part when distancing himself from OP met its logical conclusion. If you don't pay attention to your partner there's always someone else out there who would love to show them a better time.
