I caught a few back when I fished the sac river. Not straight braid a flouro leader. Also my hook was a light wire mosquito designed more for the suckers so I wanted to make sure it didn’t bend out. It was actually slightly bent after I landed the fish

That's a lovely carp even if Doggums looked less than impressed. Nice socks too :-) Might give a hint to why in the UK and Europe, carp fishing is the equivalent of bass fishing here. I have been to dedicated carp fishing shops in the UK. Trust me, those guys are as big a bunch of gadgeteers as the most dedicated bass fisherman you will meet.

The species of sucker called the Sonora suckerfish in only in Az. Other states have different species of sucker but not the Sonora

Carp are native here and don’t really pose a threat to any wild life. They actually stock them in parts of the state to manage the grass
