Hal Jordan Hal, I can't argue, because I've never actually been able to watch the show -- terrible, personal circumstances. All I know is what I've been able to infer from the clips. But once upon a time (and still, I think), I had a broad knowledge of film, and if you like Michael Pitt (whom I agree is terrific), he has the lead in a great movie which I believe is his first -- Bernardo Bertolucci's 'The Dreamers', based on Bertolucci's own experience coming of age as an obsessed cinephile in the movie-mad Paris of the '68 Leftist student uprisings. It's the only other thing I've seen Michael Pitt in (he plays an American college student in Paris), and it's a terrific film. Have a good day.

What this scene shows from me is the parallels between both these characters both similar and indifferent. Nucky Thompson learned some hard lessons from the last two seasons prior about keeping his business all business. Yet he didn't see the enemy within his Gates later on till the end. As much as it pains me to say this, chalky white still a black man in the 1920s, with little to no power, with the only leverage he has that he's a means to in end. Nucky gives him only respect because he makes money for him. Chucky fails to realize that he thinks he has his loyalty because he saved him once. Nucky gives him a slight nod of understanding because he has something that he doesn't have, solid family unit that he throws away due to desire and lust.

Nucky should've seen what's what, taken Chalky's side and gotten rid of Narcisse. He was swayed too much by the power of money and all hell break loose. There are no honest men and this is why this system needs to burn to the ground. Don't be a gangster: be a revolutionary.

Nucky got a lot of nerve lecturing Chalky about letting a woman get in the way of "business". Billie Kent ring a bell?

Maybe he is wanting Chalky to learn from his mistakes.

Nucky was in the same situation as Chalky in season 3. Head over heels for the showgirl, Billie Kent. Yet he lectures Chalky about minding his business. 🤣😅 Nucky is right but he's also a hypocrite.
