A Powerful Shepsky Bounces a Mastador 7 Feet

Today a Shepsky (German Shepherd/Husky mix) chest bumped a Mastador (Mastiff/Labrador mix) 7 feet across the grass. Winston came in and made sure everything was okay and then the Shepsky dominated another couple dogs.
This channel exists in order to educate people about dog behavior at dog parks.

A dog like the Shepsky has no place in a dog park. All other dogs have been happy and nice to each other. This dog was only concerned with dominating others and if another male is fully opposed, such a situation can quickly turn into a bloody bite. So nice to see Winston and Neveah doing so well.

My shepsky isnt like that, i think the dog in this video is just poorly socialized. It also helps that my shepsky grew up with our senior small dog who gave him regular corrections, so he has manners.

You are of course right that the dog is not properly socialized. My comment only referred to this one dog, of which I don't know the name, and not to all Shepskys.

Right? That dog was very jerky, seemed like he could use being checked by a dog his own size. He also kept being jerky to other dogs at the park. Seemed to want the physicality even though the mastiff mix was giving all the "I don't want to fight" signs.

That dog seemed to have perfect control. It didn’t hurt anybody and it was just displaying dominance.

The Shepsky will one day pick on a dog that will retaliate and that wont end well. The difference between the Shepsky throwing his weight around, and Winstons authority, is that Winnie is always fair, has brains and diplomacy. Loved seeing Winston's wiggle butt play, and the dynamic duo playing at the end with Neveah's big smile as she runs away. If we could all be so endlessly happy.👍

I dont understand how people can take their hyperdominant dog to a park and not do anything while it tries to pick fights with other dogs. If my dog EVER acted like that id be giving him hell

Winston is one of a kind. Recently, I have encountered a young man walking a young dog that looks so much like Winston that I am filled with happiness. I see them 5 days a week during my morning bus route. I am grateful that you share. Makes my day

I so glad you posted been missing them. That little dog looked scared to death laying there, owners are taking a big risk letting him/her wander around . my great dane is prey driven and she would have torn that poor pup up, thats why I have to watch Winston at the dog park i cant go to one myself

Both the Shepsky and the white Husky seem to have dominance issues that could lead to trouble. Also there seems to be a lot of un-neutered dogs in that park, hence some of the attitude problems. Dogs really need neutering to stop unwanted puppies and also cancer problems later. In Australia, we’ve been told that desexed dogs are much less likely to get testicular or mammary cancers. My family has seen and also adopted many rescue dogs over the years from puppy farm rescues and abusive situations. Some of them never fully recovered from their trauma. It’s a terrible thing to see, so being a responsible doggie parent is vital. Love your program. Warmest regards to you and your doggie family. 🎉❤😊

If that was my Shepsky I'd never allow that kind of bullying behaviour. At 1:04 I'd have seen what he was thinking and by 1:05 when he looks back and to the side is exactly when I'd have given him a strong verbal warning to let him know I'm on to him and having none of it. 1:14 he'd have gotten another reminder and by 1:18 the tennis ball would be flying at him with bad intentions followed swiftly by me.

The Shepsky acts like a total jerk after skillfully rolling the Mastador- he does the "play bow down". As if anyone would take him up on that! I think they are very pretty and easy to get, but would not own a Shepsky, all the ones I have known have been jerks. I love to watch the love between Winston and Nevaeh

Many don't know Winston has known Shiloh (the Shepsky) since Shiloh was a puppy. Shiloh and Winston exist in the same pack. Winston is the wise man. Shiloh is planning on taking over.

I love how Neveah and Winston have eachothers backs, Chief and his bro were also such good boys, even being in tact, they were respectful... the Shepski... super dominant, that poor lab went right into submission mode... one day, that dog will meet his match, and he will learn, and learn fast, he aint the boss of nobody, i dont blame him tho, owners need to learn how to train their dogs and understand the body language.

Looks like the shepsky had a problem with the intact dogs. Was he missing something that the vet took? I couldn't tell. Dogs who got neutered sometimes feel threatened if they meet a male dog with their nuts.

Man that Shepherd/Husky had a bad attitude. Very disrespectful and trying to dominate everything. Hackles up the whole time.. I'm glad his owner stayed near. What a combination of breeds. And the white shepherd had his hackles up to but he was a little bit more chill I guess you could say. Winston let him know that Nevaeh was his "Back off buddy"... Kind of a hectic day at the dog park...

Anyone know how to help an anxious dog? I have a 1 year old labrador and he gets anxious around other dogs, he barks at other dogs and is always defensive, we never get the chance to walk him since the stray dogs in my neighborhood chase him down

Find a local positive behavioural reinforcement trainer! They should be able to help your pooch learn social skills at a distance (even getting to meet other dogs through their scent can be a huge part in helping them adapt). IN the short term, mark and reward and calm behaviours and ignore anything you don't want to see repeated (barking/lunging etc). Good luck!
