Guys, listen up. Do NOT despair. This fellow speaks from knowledge. Don't slip and make possibly unrepairable mistakes. Be strong, be Alpha, and most of all be patient. It's SO hard, but it works. And, not to be a bummer, but if it doesn't work out in the long run there's a million, jillion other chicks out there. And you WILL be stronger in the long run. Good luck!

I don't know if this will work for everyone and I hope I don't sound corny because this is over the net. But gym F#cken works! I spent 5 months suffering from anxiety after a break up. After one month of gym I just felt way calmer. I made new friends at the gym. I started watching a lot of style videos, bought some new clothes, altered some of the ones I have and threw out the rest. I look way better then I ever did. The women at work are even looking at me differently now lol Now we haven't spoken in months. I might not be where I want to be yet but it feels good knowing I'm well on my way to being my best self again. I won't lie I still love here and do want her back (hence I'm watching this video lol). But I also know I will be fine if she doesn't come back. Work on yourself guys. Now if only I could quit smoking 😂

Kudos brother! I read your post and I am in the exact same situation. I was always a gym rat and had a ton of muscle. But since my break up I have gotten ripped like Sly in Rocky 3, and now I got women at my job also taking notice. I was always a great dresser but even improved that part. I have read a bunch of self improvement books, and also watched these amazing videos by Coach Craig and Coach Margaret which continue to get me through a very dark period of my life but I know it will be brighter days ahead. I also am still in love with my ex and think of her often. The hardest thing about a break up is walking away from someone you're still in love with so I can totally relate. The gym helps out a lot with depression. Keep up the great work brother, and as long as your heart still beats when you rise in the morning(?), you have a chance!

Well said. I figured out through my break up that the person that I were with had a narcissistic complex with passive agressive behavior. The more time goes on I've learned that you really need not get an ex back but love, respect, and know YOU are worth it! If the one who dumped you out of the blue with no explaination whatsoever wanted a "Break" or needed "Space" is all bs. They didn't want you and don't deserve to have YOU back! Have that ex live with the decision they've made by being a person who evolves and become successful in life, growing as a human being! Where I am now in my thought process.... and it was very hard to get here. I really don't want her back. At the end of the day it's about self respect.

Can you please cover a video on how to cope with Death of an ex? I had 2 ex,s tragically die on me the 1st one was my child's father and the 2nd one tragically passed away in a horrible car accident that crippled me for life. I was the passenger. I still remember trying to wake him up but he wasn't responding. I Spent a week in critical condition fighting for my life. I tried to get back into dating maybe way too soon as friends and family thought it might help me heal to give new love a chance. Met someone new and that too failed. Left me after almost a year for some young girl who is super air headed and easy for him to control and after a month they already signed a lease to a house together. He played me and cheated on her with me at the end of that situation. It's clear to me and many others looking at her pattern she has a reputation for not making any good decisions. He turned bout to be a lier and player and shes a 18 year old selfish homewrecker as she condones him to backslide into regressing from getting and doing better from his traumas and unhealthy crutches. When he was with me he was so much better and healing. By him choosing this girl 11 years younger then him also showed not just me but his family and good friends that he Doesn't want to heal or grow up and overcome his addictive codependency issues. He left out for an enabler for a unhealthy lifestyle. I made the mistake of blowing up on him yelling at him and cussing him out. Plus he threw it in my face how he hated that he Sense that the trauma and PTSD from both ex,s before him dying was still haunting me as he used that for his excuse out to jump ship. Even worse he owes me money and a very expensive and sentimental possecion of mine as well as left a lot of his belongings at my place and 2 months after he's not even reading my messages at all. I'm the one who really was hurt but he's acting bitter and indifferent towards me swearing he's so happy when I hear through the grapevine they fight and are having Some serious issues with in the 1st week he left me to move in with her. At that point they only knew escother 2 weeks they met at work. Sooo after one traumatic experience right after another I feel stuck in a rut. Working in physical therapy still trying to fix issues from injuries I sustained. I feel like the trauma from the accident could be what's holding me back. I feel like I'm grieving all of them now at the same time. It's hard letting go. Weather it was love, anger, failure, grudge, or changes all together. I feel like I'm deffinatly not the same person after 2 tragic death's and recovering from multiple broken bones. Also fighting for disability. I worry now it makes me undateble. I pretty much lost everything and don't know what to do now. Always missing when there where good times knowing we can't touch the same water twice and each loss seems like another hole in my heart in the shape of that person that can never be filled. But trying to meet new people build new friendships and make new memories is all I can do. Sorry for my long rant... But Coach Craig you are awesome and listening to you and Margaret is super helpful and comforting.

Hi Craig, What if your ex has already moved on after I spent three months trying to patch things up? When we broke up officially, she was on tinder and talking to guys the same/next day? Why would no contact work on someone that doesn't want you?
@raysun8560
@raysun8560 3 жыл бұрын
Instead of trying to patch things up you should accept the break up, don't chase or pour your heart out with everything you done wrong etc work on yourself and what wasnt working for you while in no contact. Her moving on that quickly is most likely to fill the void instead of looking at herself. Just make sure boundaries are in place and don't let her back in the minute she reaches out. If you were to take her back she would need to show change in what you weren't happy with before getting back together

Please help me. My ex broke up with me 3 months ago, we lived together, so we had to meet and talk after the breakup, but the last time we talked was 1,5 months ago. It was my first relationship and we loved each other very much, but my insecurities always caused fights between us. He supported me and tried to fix the relationship but a week before we broke up we had a big fight, which I feel so guilty about ever since. I know it wasnt the full reason why we broke up, but it pushed him to break up with me. I wont explain the whole situation, but I know he doesnt want me back. I didnt do anything very wrong in the relationship, I was a very supportive, loving, caring girlfriend but I couldnt communicate properly. I tried to move on but the guilt wont let me move on. I just feel depressed, because he was the type of guy I always wanted and I ruined it all. I wanted to expain it all to him several times but I always stopped myself because I dont want to be the type of ex who cant accept its over. I really want to explain to him why I was behaving irrational during the last fight and I really want to apologize. I feel like it would help me move on, because my guilt is consuming me. I know it wouldnt change anything but I just cant let it go like this. Should I try to talk to him? I dont know if he has moved on yet, but 3 months is a long time so I guess he's doing a lot better than me. I've been trying to hold my apology back since months and I'm afraid that months later I will still feel this guilt. I feel like it would be easier to move on if I apologize, but I still want him back so maybe it would be worse. :( what should I do?
@annadubi

He will move out in august and he'll give me the money we payed for the apartment (I dont know the english world for that but the point is that he will reach out to me in august) Should I wait until he reaches out then, or should I reach out to him now, apologize and give him my card number so he wont have to talk to me again in august if he doesnt want to. I really dont know how to cope with this guilt for another month and waiting is just giving him more time to move on and I'm afraid he wont even remember what happened in the last fight and bringing it up will cause more drama. I'm so helpless :(
@LittleMissMadLib
@LittleMissMadLib 6 жыл бұрын
If that's how you really feel then I would go ahead and apologize for everything you feel guilty for. I would suggest writing a letter or email for this purpose so he can read it over again. I would leave it as short, sweet, and to the point as you can. And leave it open-ended. Say something real simple along the lines of "if you ever need me, just give me a call and I'll answer." Then don't contact him any further unless it's strictly business or he reaches out. The timing is up to your discretion, when it feels right. You can go ahead and send the message on to him before he reaches out to you. Or you can hand deliver it to him when he gives you the money without saying anything other than it's a final word and apology letter from you, and send him off with good-wishes and don't contact him again until he reaches out to you. What you're looking for is closure, so I'm sure this will definitely help you to move on from your breakup. Hope this helps!

I dont think I will reach out, I was thinking about it, and I know that after the fight I wanted to explain him my point of view and wanted to apologize and he told me he doesnt want to talk about it. He used to bottle up all his negative feelings inside and we never really had a full on conversation about our issues. I really wanted to explain him my behaviour while we were together, but since he said he doesnt want to talk about it I didnt force it. He probably doesnt wanna hear it now either, and I dont want to cause any more drama or force things, even though I feel guilty and full of regrets. I guess the guilt will also pass with time :(

@LittleMissMadLib
@LittleMissMadLib 6 жыл бұрын
Miguel Ulloa not Craig, but I would seriously consider getting your own phone plan if at all possible, not just paying your half of the bill. She should understand it perfectly. It shouldn't come off petty at all when you tell her about it. You're broken up now, regardless if you want her back or not. You need to establish that you need to lead your own separate lives. It makes sense to start living on separate plans! Of course don't be mean about it, be civil and assertive to her about what it means for you two to not be together anymore. This includes any other bills and responsibilities that you two may be sharing. Then after you get it all settled and done, when you have no other obligations to talk to her about. Go no contact. Hope this helps!

Coach... It's now officially 3 months since our email coaching, and you gave the assessment that she'll reach out in about 3-4 months... I've remained strong, and have stayed on NC since... I've also started dating in early June like you suggested, and have been hinting that I am on social media... I feel like I've succeeded in many ways, but I'll keep you posted if I have a success story in the form of an indirect/direct reach out from the ex!

I apologised but that is not good enough for him. I am drained. Want him to collect his stuff and move on for good. This is toxic...

Almost 10 months ago my ex broke up with me, I did all wrong after he broke up with me, after a few months we started being friends but he was already in a new relationship, “they met and got along” that’s what he said, they didn’t meet by change, he looked for her, I know, anyway we were talking as friends but after having a talk with him on the phone where he told me she’s moving in with him and how wonderful is everything between them we didn’t talk for 2 weeks but he texted me so I ignored him and he said: you’re not talking to me? I answered after 3 hours and I told him: you know what I feel for you so I think it’s better if we are not friends for now, I’m sorry. We haven’t talked for 2 weeks, did I do the right thing? Well he’s in a new relationship and here I am trying to get him back, it doesn’t make any sense, I think it’s better to let him go and end any kind of relationship with him, a friendship would have been fake and hurtful for me, he’s posting pics with her on fb, 😢

Dear Craig, Can you please let me know how to reconcile with a borderline woman? She broke up for the 5th time because of the behavious of my ex-wife (they fought using my FB, emails, texts etc) and she had enough. Although the reason is as stated above, the manner she behaves is crazy, because I always stood by her and two kids, lived with then, so the abandonment issues are not true. She split me black in 2 minutes, when she heard me speaking to my ex-wife on the phone. Happened after we had a fabolous 10 days in the far east. She is not diagnosed, but she has all the traits, I pais no attention to the red flags in the beginning ( spending, saying she was territorial, engulfing me in love very quickly). I am a nice guy type and gave in a lot effort tomake our relationship work. She is very high sometimes, then very low nad did not get on well with my son (saying she is jealous of him and sees my ex-wife in him). That was the only point I did not budge, so I kept my house for us - so the two us can spend there time away). She broke up with me 3 times in a two eek span of time on 10 pages of text very angry and anxious.First I tried to defend myself, as I had not been aware of her illness, but then went no contact seeing that my reasoning found deaf ears.This happened in the beginning of March. In April she initiated the indirect approach, but did not say sorry so I just answered politely (she said she need information on her car's highway sticker and told me to meet up). However since then I met her twice accidentally and I feel depressed. I am in therapytaking anti-depressants, because I cannot fathom how she could be so cold and forget our pleasant memories, travels. I am told that the relationship could be mended if I went made up to her, but it would only start a new narcissitic cycle. I miss her very much, no closure, just before of the above mentioned phone call we were in deeply love. Everything went down on the drain in 5 five minutes!!! Is there any hope for reconciliation? I watched your videos and I am keeping no contact, even when we metwe just said "hi". But is breaks me to see the hatred in her eyes, when I know I had done nothing wrong. Thanks

Zsolt dr. Zimányi im sorry. Why do good people suffer. My relationship was good and fell apart in 5 minutes too. I found out by mistake he talked to his ex, asking her to meet. I did not get angry. I asked him why does he want to be with her. He became angry nasty and broke up with me. It was Dec. Its now 6 months hes still mad angry with me. I did make mistakes in the relationship but it was because i used to be upset when he disrespected me and call me names for no reason. Hes a bit narcissistic

You can't get her back like this. Look at why u need her back after the way she has behaved with you. Ur attachment style. Her feelings about your son, a child, is unacceptable. She must grow. Leave her alone. Point out to her in a mature way her behaviors that were unreasonable and how it ruined ur relationship. Then leave her to think abt it . However long it takes. Its hard being borderline. She's scared of abandonement but she sounds narcisttic too. Because she won't apologise.

@lossennedlorwen 6 жыл бұрын
Zsolt dr. Zimányi As someone with BPD who caused the breakup, I can tell you the abandonment fears are *very* real in her mind. They were in mine, and they became a self-fulfilling prophecy. I freaked out on my ex and ruined the relationship in only a few hours, and earlier that day, we were happy and in love. Of course, everyone is different, but if she doesn't get help, like DBT therapy, the next best thing would be to educate yourself about BPD and the various ways it can form (there's research done since at least 2011 that suggests it, too, may have a biological aspect to it, like other mental illnesses). For example, not *everyone* with BPD has an abuse history, but many people do. There's also books written as first hand accounts of what it's like to have BPD, which can give you more insight into what it's like in your ex's mind. Learning leads to understanding leads to empathy, and that may help you (& her) in the long run.

lossennedlorwen so true. I only discovered some traits in my ex and myself after my breakup. We were happy he was in love then one anxious episode ftom me. Not sure what came over me. Anxiety. Abandonement. He saw it as contol. I went into deep meditation this week and saw the patterns of pain n separation in my life. Abandonement and death is the ultimate abandonement my dad died. So when i dont hear from someone i think they gone. I am working very very very hard. I want to be well.

Kinda off topic from this video but is is absolutely necessary for the ex to reach out first, I get a lot of mixed advice on this saying it doesn't matter who reaches our first, you have to reach out first, or they have to reach out first. I know you are in the camp of waiting in radio silence till they reach out but I would like to know more in depth on why you believe that, I don't doubt you the advice you have given so far has been a huge help but sometimes I feel NC is pushing my ex more away from me than leading her back. Thank You!

Dr Guthrie in coach Craig's words himself: When someone breaks up with you they are also telling you that they need space. So going no contact is in turn you respecting their wishes and having them see that you respect them enough to not cling to them, and force them to stay with you. This is to also allow time for the both of you to cool off and ponder about your relationship. About whether you two were a good match or not and thinking about if you would/should get back together based on that. It also allows the ex to experience separation anxiety from not seeing or hearing from you at all anymore. That anxiety is the #1 driving force that convinces them that if they doddle around any longer they'll lose you forever. And so they finally contact you because of it. The no contact rule isn't about getting your ex back, however. It's to help you move on and better yourself. Consequently, this doubles as also being the best strategy to use in "winning" your ex back, more than any other strategy. Which is why so many people misinterpret the no contact rule as just a way of getting your ex back instead of (also) bettering yourself and getting over a breakup. Trust me, my ex broke up with me 8 months ago and has never said another word to me since then. And I went very strict no contact since the day of the breakup. So I've never said anything to him since then, either. And sometimes I feel the exact same way as you. Thinking that no contact is driving my ex away rather than bringing him back to me. However, I see hints here and there that he still misses me and tries to keep tabs on what I'm doing. It's subtle, but it's there. And being a detail-oriented person I hardly miss a thing. Asking a good friend of mine about me, watching my Instagram stories often, etc. But, if he were to come back I have definitely set my standards higher, as I have done a lot of pondering on the relationship and working on myself. So whether or not we get back together by then depends on whether my ex will be able to meet those standards. If he cannot, too bad for him. I can't date much less marry someone who doesn't meet my standards. His behavior doesn't guarantee that my ex will come back. But, it is also not guaranteed that he won't come back, either. So it's a wildcard at the least. I'm certain your ex would be at the very least interested in how your life is going. And they have either just been real sneaky around you, or you have been too distracted by other things to notice the signs. No contact takes a lot of discipline. Even from someone as stubborn as I am who's set in my ways for the most part. It's hard not to reach out and try to get a dialogue, but resist all temptations. I also don't suggest you put your life on hold waiting for someone to come back. Keep up the no contact, and live your life as you see fit. You'll eventually see good results. Either you'll get your ex back and you'll resolve your issues and become a happy couple, or you'll realize you don't need them in your life to be happy, and move on to someone else who's worthy of your love. So to answer your question: Yes, it is absolutely necessary for your ex to reach out first. Especially if they were the one that broke up with you. My personal thoughts on it: If they break up with you, it's their job to initiate the reconciliation between the two of you. If it was you who broke up with them, it's your job, then. If it's mutual, assume the first situation unless you feel it's absolutely necessary to reach out first in order to get back together. I hope this helps a little! ❤

Little Miss Libby Thank you so much for taking the time to type this all out and include your own situation I can't express how much it means to me. I'm in a situation where my ex kinda gave me an opening to start contacting them further down the line of no contact by asking me to tell her what I thought about this one movie when I finally watch it but now I think she did that on purpose to try and make herself less anxious over the silence by offering me a door back into her life but as a friend and I was getting two different sides of advice saying to do it or don't do it. You have convinced me to avoid this trap that I'm sure I would have regretted if I took it, thank you. I also realize how little I need to worry I have been improving myself so much day by day and currently my ex is in a rebound (she jumped into it a week after the breakup with a sleazy guy who is the complete anti-me) and I think that says more to do with how much she misses by trying to fill the void she created by dumping me instead of whether or not she is over me. If I took that door however I think it probably would have relieved her seperation anxiety causing the rebound to last even longer and it would make me feel horrible for being rejected again but if I don't take it I can focus on myself more and she will start wondering why I didn't take that door and it would probably cause her anxiety to increase exponentially. I'm rambling now but for real thank you a ton.

Dr Guthrie You're welcome I'm glad I could help! Sounds like our exes could be twins! Mine jumped into an on/off rebound (still going) 2 weeks after the fact with someone of similar standing to your ex's rebound, who's nothing like me (and the fact our relationship was never on/off). I also thought the same of that situation. I can't really help but pity them at this point. Good luck!!! 💕
