Think about this: if they get with someone else soon after a breakup, I know it may hurt, but really think about it logically. Why would you want someone back who can just flip from you to someone else like you’re nothing? Regardless of the brain chemistry going on or whatever, there is a total lack of respect from them. So respect yourself. If they come crawling back in the future, respect yourself, and don’t let them back into your life. You will find someone who wouldn’t split your heart into two like that. That ex doesn’t deserve you.

Great advice . If someone finds someone else during no contact they are a rebound because some people I have known have to have someone in their lives no matter who they are. After personal growth I realised when that person came back I no longer wanted him as I had changed the person I was and no longer liked them. The reason you go no contact is usually for a good reason.

This happened to me. I went no contact.. I thought everthing was perfect with her new boyfriend. It looked like it on social media. 3 Months later she broke up with her new boyfriend and called me. She said she missed me and wanted to have sex with me. She said she felt more relaxed around me. And that she'd never forget me. I still want her back. But thing was really difficult for us for special reasons. Our age difference etc. I'm 27, she just turned 19. We were together for 2 years. Because of our age difference our relationship has always been a secret. She also said she loved her new boyfriend, but she loved me more and was really uncertain about the new guy. Though she wouldn't go "no contact" with him to get me back. I told her she need to find out what she feels for the new guy and it's for the best that we wait for the time to be more right for us. I don't know if I should move on with someone new, or wait. I then told her to go back to him so she can find out what she really feels. So she did. I just went "no contact again" and hope that she will come back in maybe 6 months. Though I am afraid she might be over me by then...

Now, she's from one of the "banned countries" and she can't go to the US and he can't go to her country for some reasons. They have to meet in another place, they are having a distance marriage! Yeah! Six months after he broke up with me. They are both from the same country, but he left more than 5 years ago, they were acquaintances, he lived in two different countries after he left his hometown, we had this explosive/Romeo and Juliet, 5 year relationship, after he broke up with me, he reconnected with her online, they met, got married in 6 months and now she can't go to America (banned by Trump's immigration law) and he can't go to their country because of political reasons as well. They got married in a third country and are now running a long distance marriage. One may say, maybe they were talking during these years, I know they were not because she never liked any of his pictures or anything on fb, he had blocked her bc he didn't like her and she liked him. After we broke up, I started seeing her likes on his and his mom's pics. How messed up is that? I swear, I'm not trying to get back with him, I just wanted answers, I just think he made a wrong move. Ok, if it didn't work with me, fine, but what's it about this rush marriage with someone who lives in another continent?? I mean it, I'm just trying to understand! Thanks for writing!

Got my heart broken for the 1st time at 26 year old, after a 6 year relationship. Seen a lot of things since i was a kid but never felt as hurt as now. I took things as granted, and was shocked and confused when the reality hit me in the face like a cold slap, as i got dumped. Learned that loyalty is not the only thing that keeps a good relationship afloat, i was not emotionally present for myself so how could i be for one another. Oh my goodness! I love being able to listen to you now after the trauma and be able to laugh at things that made me sob months ago. Like the idea that “Two weeks ago he said he loved me and wanted to marry me and now he is so cruel.” When Margret mantienes that it made me laugh so hard and it felt so good. Because it’s so true. But for me now it’s silli and funny when months back it was like the end of the world. I needed up going to intensive treatment after the break up. Love the videos! Can you do a video on long distance relationships? My 10 year relationship just ended because i needed to start a new life in another state looking for my purpose on this earth. And she had too much anxiety to live in a different state. So we broke up because i realized my needs were never gonna be met with 650 miles between us. I wasnt done with her, and shes not done with me. But it dosen't make sense to be together. Thanks coach!

Is it common that the ex does revisit the relationship and while we are working things out they start having doubts and run away again? There’s obviously a lot more going on, but is getting back together usually a process with setbacks?

WombatNinja4 you shouldn’t come off too strong or rush things. It should be simple in the beginning of reconciliation. Casual meet ups, talk about everything but a relationship, it should come off as if they meet the better you and regret their decision. Like they shouldn’t be able to sense you wanting them back, let them do the work and take the decision of wanting you so they think it was their idea, lol it sounds bad but I think this is the only way it’ll work.

Good morning Coach Craig and Margaret. I've come across your KZbin channel a couple of months ago and bought your book "The Knowledge" I have been working on myself and trying to get over this breakup with my ex. I want her back in my life, but I know I have to become the best version of myself first. I don't know if she's dating anyone at this moment. I feel like she is, but I don't have physical evidence. My question is would it be considered a rebound if my ex got with another person if we've been broken up for over a year? We start seeing each other again from Feb to May and one argument caused her to go cold again on me. I went into no contact after we stopped talking and I just broke no contact yesterday. I came off all social media 5 years ago because my life is mine and I don't care what other people are doing. I split from my wife of 23 years 4 months ago and lockdown came in. I still refuse to use social media. I do miss her and not been available at home for my kid's.i am still in love with her but it is fading. So I don't have the problem of stalking her lol. Ban all social media we would all be better off without it

I heard through the grapevine that my ex wants to eventually maybe reach out to me. Idk when but it was said when this semester is over and she gets her emotions an thoughts together She broke up with me after 3 months of dating. I got clingy, needy and sometimes she thought I was upset at her because she was sick (She has been taking seizure meds for the past 5 years and they really take a toll on her mentally and physically.) I never meant to lash out or give her that impression but thats what she picked up She said she doesnt want to date me again and also is worried that If she reaches out I'll just make it about getting back together and not fully understanding what I did wrong and why she broke up the relationship in the first place. She is on tinder again and she also blocked me on social media during the breakup. How can I keep my cool if she reaches out and why exactly would she want to talk to me after saying that she never wants to date me again?

Hey I was on ur boat 3 weeks ago the day after I got broken up with I started a new job and wanted to cry in my bosses face I couldn’t pay any attention and couldn’t wait for lunch breaks to cry, what changed? I’m glad you asked, I thought crying is not going to help me move forward with life and even get her back, but by first of all staying calm and knowing as long as she’s in this new relationship she’s not growing but me spending time with myself I can grow and become better while she stays stagnant and rebound relationships do not work even though I see her get in his car I play is cool because I’m a better person by working on myself not jumping into another relationship :)

Yeah. I was wishing loved ones Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 & I scrolled past his messenger icon accidentally as I was finding people. He changed his first name & his profile picture. When I knew him he stubbornly refused to touch that picture & I was attached to it. For 5 minutes I was so upset. Then I flipped it around. Maybe he's growing & changing. Good for him! The dating someone else is a whole nother can of worms when you're poly. It just comes with the territory. It may cost me him. I just have to accept it and mind my own business, like Coach says, it's the only mature thing to do.

Hi , my situation is a bit complicated. I live in the U.S and decided a few months ago I wanted a change and felt I wanted to try to move to Spain. During this time I got on a dating site from this place and met an amazing guy. He was the sweetest soul I’ve ever met. Well I planned a trip there and spent two weeks over there. After I came back we still kept talking everyday and he came to see me 4 months later. During all this time I’ve been confused about the relationship which caused me to act cold around him. Now he has been back to his town for a week and has been acting cold. I asked if I did anything wrong and he says no. I apologized for being cold and explained why I was being cold. But still he has been distant. Yesterday he posted a Instagram story showing they were at a concert with God knows who. I didn’t react. I’ve let it be. I don’t know what I should do. I’m so hurt.

Hi craige, i went on no contact, and i am still on block from my ex hwoever it has been afew month, but i found out he has found someone else and he is happy with her, they seems to be together in any social event i attend, they are there too, and sometimes suddenly we make eye contact , but i see him with her most of time, he doesnt look sad at all. It was the best decision ever i made and god showed me and carried me in his hands to be able to breakthrough that difficult time❤️ when people don't want us then the best lesson to learn out of it is to make a better version of ourselves , identify the faults in that broken relationship and try to move on while you building yourself to be a better version of yourself for your future relationship and not doing the same mistakes again. It takes time , no one said howmany months it takes but when you build up yourself in positive ways and getting that confident and self steam again then you realise how worth you are and you deserve so much better.

About to enter month 4 of no contact, have been using this time to work on myself as i should be. Nov is going to be a tough month, her birthday is this friday and it is going to suck to not reach out, our anniversary is 2 weeks after, and then thanksgiving where we have spent the past many years with family and having fun.
