Only recently I figured out how important nutrition really is for athletes, especially soccer players. I never had any kind of influence like what you’re doing growing up regarding nutrition so it’s great that you provide that platform for others 🙏🏼

My son plays soccer and loves your videos. I'm a sports RD, your meals look amazing and really well balanced. I like that you also include "favorite fun" foods too. For what it's worth, my 2 cents would be to shift carbs up closer to 60% and shift protein down a bit to 20% & 30% fats. Might help with maintaining weight during pre/in-season and keep glycogen stores full for more energy to perform. Best wishes this season!

Why? Have you never seen an ad before on KZbin or podcast? Joe Rogan has like 10straight minutes of ads before the free show he gives because that pays the bills. I'm just thrilled that Matt got a Google and PES sponsorship. Whether he uses a product or not is secondary, it's about what his fans demographic is that this is about. Besides, the ad is nowhere as cringey as those ones your hear in podcasts about shaving your ba***.

I appreciate you showing your meal plans so often, and try and provide some advice while also being aware that everyone's body is different and responses will vary. I have a questoon... why do you have such high protein meals? I read somewhere that over 30 grams per meal or after a workout would not have much effect at all on your body, and may be over doing it. I was curious if you've varied protein intake mainly after workouts, to come to your 40-50 gram values. Thanks in advance!

Hey Matt, What are your thoughts on intermittent fasting for athletes? Have you ever considered diets like vegan, vegetarian, keto, etc? Thanks!
@Balbonisboys4 жыл бұрын
sam swem I know I’m know Matt and you probably don’t care😂 but I intermittent fast and I really enjoy doing it while staying very active. I train once or twice a day and I usually try to train on an empty stomach and it really feels amazing because you don’t have any food in your stomach. Right after training I have a lot of protein and vegetables probably around 90g of protein in one meal (including protein shake). You should try it!

I'm a nutritionist, biochemist, and Olympic weightlifter and played high level soccer for 20 years before injuries and the switch to weightlifting. IM can be a very useful tool for your training. But, there are different variations of it. It comes down to how you feel while you're doing any type nutrition plan. Try things for at least a week consistently and pay attention to how you feel and your performance. Find what works for you.

Hi matt, about 3 weeks ago in my high school soccer game i slide tackle and my right ankle went a awkward way and i sprained it pretty bad, i couldn’t walk on it for a week and a half and i was on crutches during that time. It was pretty swollen and hurt it, but i never went to the hospital. i’ve been starting to run and pass the ball but i still can’t hit a long ball far and hard with the top of the foot. so right now i’m stuck between pushing through it or do i wait to my ankle is completely healed. also are there any stretches to strengthen my ankle that you recommend. ps: i love your videos so much!!!!!
@ThePhantomElite4 жыл бұрын
Amanda Nila Let it heal! And consult a doctor or physio just to make sure. Sprains are pretty common and it is different from every individual how long they take to heal. Try some easy balance exercises on one leg, make sure you are fully warmed up and feel confident when/if you are going to play. One injury can lead to another if you are not careful, just give it some time and you will heal! ( there are videos on yt as well on how deal with sprains etc. Check them out). Good luck

BrendanCFC sure, He mentioned that eating to many eggs increases your cholesterol level , we (in Germany )tend to believe that thats the main cause for heart diseases, however there‘s a great book (besides that lots of interesting documentaries ) which proves that that‘s not the case because the body naturally produces cholesterol , if it‘s being supplemented by nutrition (via eggs e.g. ) than the body shuts it‘s own production of cholesterol . I was like : but consuming 5 eggs per day is surely not good for your overall health . Reading an article I realized , that around 10-15 eggs per week are fine (if you‘re having a healthy diet (where you usually don’t eat a lot of meet )combined with lots of physical activity , then even more eggs per week are fine
