I think it is overlooked because it seems like such a little thing Dr. Peterson does, but the thanking for your time and attention at the end of his videos/lectures/seminars. It is so humble and attentive to the fact that your time is valuable, and that you are spending it with him thinking and processing life’s problems and intricacies. It’s worth every second and we appreciate you taking your time to bring us these insights as well. Keep up the good work, and I mean that in every sense of the word.

I enjoyed it too, but it's easy to speak with passion about something that mirrors your own values almost exactly, if not exactly. I didn't find this song very deep, while I still liked most of it. Fall down the rabbit hole and listen to some of Tom's other work and discuss that, honestly. It's far more conflicting, stronger opinions, more to discuss regarding a women's ability to abortion, how Liberalism and Democrats are Communists and some...interesting thoughts on Trump. Tom makes good points throughout except you're occasionally taken aback by something when you were in agreement the line before. Personally, I think a discussion of his body of work as a whole would yield a more thoughtful, interesting discussion. Just an idea as I listened to some of his other songs and can see why some would take umbrage, lol. He's the real thing, I'll give him that.

Whew... So first things first - this was like an intense training session for the brain, from a trainer who is half compassionate father and half merciless drill instructor. As always, intense to the point of pain if you try to think along. Many thanks for that. And another thing I noticed, not for the first time - in those moments when you can see and even feel the pain and suffering Dr. Peterson feels for the victims he speaks of, I want to hug him and say: we hear you, you are not alone. Those you have helped will sing your praises for eternity and even those who are just barely getting by will stand with you. You are not alone.

00:00 🎤 Ben Shapiro and Tom MacDonald's rap song "Facts" prompts analysis by Dr. Peterson, revealing psychological insights into the lyrics. 00:40 📝 Using "genders" instead of "sexes" in the lyrics illustrates a linguistic trap and the left's control over language, highlighting the importance of linguistic precision in ideological discourse. 01:51 🧠 Critique of generalizations in the lyrics regarding race, religion, and politics reveals flaws in woke ideology and its appeal to certain demographics. 03:14 🚺 Woke ideology's extension of compassion beyond its domain leads to the erosion of individual innocence and the perpetuation of victim-victimizer narratives, resembling a totalitarian state. 05:08 💔 Viewing oneself as a victim or victimizer, as depicted in the lyrics, can lead to a lack of personal agency, directionlessness, and economic struggles, reinforcing a cycle of victimhood. 06:46 🤝 Societies require a balance between agreeableness and assertiveness, as overly compassionate communities can be exploited by nefarious elements, leading to chaos and lawlessness. 09:47 🏳‍🌈 Symbolism of flags, such as the rainbow flag, reveals deeper ideological divides and societal shifts, emphasizing the importance of unity and the dangers of embracing chaos. 11:52 🍾 Lyrics criticizing hedonistic behaviors reflect psychological associations with dark personality traits like narcissism, psychopathy, and sadism, warning against their destructive consequences. 17:03 🐲 Analysis of biblical imagery from Revelation illustrates the dangers of hedonism and power worship, cautioning against blind adherence to such ideologies. 19:24 💡 Critical thought necessitates discomfort and the willingness to challenge one's own ideas, highlighting the importance of constructive criticism in intellectual growth and societal progress. 20:33 💡 Critical thinking involves evaluating answers with critical thinking, which may cause emotional distress and offense. 21:13 🧠 Feelings can orient individuals in the world, but refining emotional commitments with facts is crucial to avoid being misled by instinct. 22:40 💔 Distress cries can be exploited by narcissistic psychopaths, diverting attention from genuine needs. 24:57 🚼 Maternal instinct may be perverted when not directed towards genuine care, potentially contributing to politically correct authoritarianism. 25:25 🎭 Collaboration between individuals with contrasting personalities, like Ben Shapiro and Tom MacDonald, can lead to creative synergy. 30:35 🔥 Creativity involves experimentation, but critical feedback, like that from someone with high verbal intelligence, helps refine ideas. 34:43 ⚔ Critical thinking involves subjecting ideas to stress tests, akin to a burning and cutting process to eliminate the unworthy. 37:32 💼 Short-term hedonistic pursuits, like those glamorized in rap, may lead to negative outcomes compared to long-term orientation and sacrifice. 40:31 🧠 Differentiating genuine compassion from false displays is crucial in relationships, as seen in Tom MacDonald's lyrics, reflecting a broader societal challenge. 42:17 🔍 Standing up against societal pressure and remaining true to one's values is attractive, particularly to discerning individuals. 43:27 🎯 Recognizing and prioritizing genuine needs over false cries of victimization is essential for societal and personal well-being. 44:48 🤯 Playing the victim can lead to a downward spiral of bitterness, resentment, and madness, with severe consequences for individuals and society. 48:10 💬 Rejecting the postmodern notion that meaning is solely constructed through language and embracing multiple layers of reality is crucial for a deeper understanding of societal issues.

8:15 I had a very rough childhood, very poor, very abusive. I still have scars on my face, arms, my back has always had problems from injuries sustained. But that doesn't define me. I'm 30 years old now, put myself through college, got a degree, taught myself computers, and am in a good job with a good company. But I refused to be a victim - you know why? When you are poor and have no prospects you take any opportunity that presents itself. If you don't, you starve. If you don't, you do not have any chance at making things better for yourself. If you stay a victim, you choose death. If you overcome adversity, you choose life. I chose life.

I don’t have the time nor band width to see if someone in the previous near-11k posts already said this, but in this video, JP gave a masterful analysis of…a rap song. One the one hand, it’s crazy that we live in such a world where conservatives could top the charts with such a song, and on the other, we could get such a detailed breakdown of the depth of meaning behind the lyrics by such a brilliant mind as has JP. Sir, I truly appreciate that there are people like you who are on our planet at this moment. You are a voice of simple reason who can use proper definitions for words. I understand that you have been undermined by those who think that they are smarter than you, know more than you. Sir, I do not think that when you were asked when listening to Tom Macdonald, was for the reasons you would ever believe in. You are a smart man, but to have a comment on a person, when you have never commented on anything simply mainstream, puts you at a total disadvantage, and makes you look like a tool for those who want to bring others down. If you ever believed in what your words that you have ever said to be true. Look at society and listen to the words again to all his sons. Thank you again Sir, and I hope you will not let the world drag you down to the low levels where your voice becomes irrelevant.

Interesting take. I thought perhaps JP was attempting to branch out a little by appealing to a more mainstream audience, but I'm probably incorrect. The perversion of spirit occurs when the corruption of identity is accepted as the form in our society. Love your comment... 'Opposite of clickbait;' Growing up without internet was wonderful and it's worthwhile to observe the damage it can do and also these great creative masterpieces of work which are appreciated by those who are strong enough to think instead of misuse the gateway to the sacred which is truly the gates of hell. I am speaking of a certain hib which should be strictly avoided.

I love Jordan Peterson! Huge respect to this man! I'm so happy that the culture today has created an environment where there is a need for a voice like his, because thanks to this he has risen so much in popularity and we all get to hear his speeches. If all this hadn't occurred he would have continued to be just another professor at his university in Canada and only his students would have ever had the chance to hear him speak.

Hi, I'm a young female with a female temperament and I am definitely not verbally intelligent and I was indoctrinated in university about gender ideology. Yet I am a proud conservative. It's all thanks to my mother and partially you, Mr Peterson. Still I am proud I did one thing right in my life by resisting all this nonsense even though I was apparently extra susceptible.

Verbal intelligence is the ability to understand and reason concepts through words. I am willing to postulate your verbal intelligence is much higher than you are aware. Some would call it having a BS meter.

There are always outliers. Whatever it is that led you down this path is likely inside and instilled by your childhood. I was a major cynic as a child and grew up to be even more of one. Tho I also beat the odds and do not treat my children like my parents did. Sometimes we just learn from the mistakes of others.

At 1 point, Doctor Peterson mentions the culture war in his analysis. Yuri Bezmenov was a Russian spy who defected to the West and told the Americans about the USSR psychological operation to subvert American society over a long period of time. The Russians did not have the money or the strength to do it militarily. Rather their answer was to war psychologically over time. That was 60 years ago, and here we have the complete subversion of the society from what it used to be to what it is now. But the Soviet Union has gone. So, who are we at war with? One thought is that the WEF wants a 1 world government. The WEF is a division of the private Central Bank. Connecting the dots. Could it be the private Central Bank wants total control of the world and is using a psychological operation over a long period of time in order to take over? The COVID hopes the carbon taxes and exporting necessary business to other countries has weakened the economy's forcing us close to bankruptcy. So who would gain from a bankruptcy of our countries? The private Central Bank. Proof of this is that most Western countries, all of which have central banks in them, are all suffering the same thing at the same time. The common denominator is the private Central Bank. Who has enough money to take over all of these countries over a long period of time. The private Central Bank. Who is Klaus Schwab's mother's maiden name? Rothschild. The name of the owners of the private Central Bank. The US military calls the war of subversion 5th Generation unlimited warfare. It is not a frontal attack. It is demoralizing the country and make it get bankrupt. And again, who would benefit from bankrupting the United States and destroying the Constitution most importantly, the second amendment. The private Central Bank.

No. He does not 'give' anything his chosen meaning. He illustrates the deeper structures beneath what is already there. He is looking at why it is and what it is representing. We don't tell stories about nothing. It is the most fundamental way that we share foundational meanings and principals. If it strikes a chord with many it is because it resonates core values.

Oh my lovely Jordan. I understand your point of view. I only hope you can see the value of this message; that the message or at least part of this message, might reach the ears, minds and hearts of people who may otherwise hear this point of view. I’m not a fan of rap for various reasons but for many people it’s their music genre of choice. Maybe, just maybe, this song will reach those hearts and show that just because a point of view is different it can still have value. Anyway, I really just bake you some comfort food and give you a shoulder massage. As always, amazing!!
