(regular children who die after their parents dont count) humans sympathize with a lot of things, Inanimate objects, animals (showed by animal shelters and so on) humans can be so complex and complicated, some are very sensitive with empathy and some don't care although that much. Animals although not that complicated as humans, have empathy (or sense) when humans are sad or if somebody is suffering. Like how dogs can be trained to sense cancer. It is why some are used as service animals. You may not have discovered an animal that you love and adore yet, and that's perfectly okay. You may never find it, but thats okay too. Water is different than a vacuum. I assume it's probably that water seeps through the chinks in their armor and completely fills them up and has some bad effect on some part of them (vinegar and baking soda type reaction), not that they need oxygen to live

The alien went into water in the basement, in the first movie, just fine. So there are continuity issues for sure. They cant see, but they can swing from rebar and other things.

They're armor plates would be so heavy that they wouldn't be able to swim. Kind of like the old mafia cement shoes. Any object with a large enough mass can have a gravitational pull, no clue how large their asteroid would have to be to hold oxygen in an atmosphere but they may have been sealed inside "caves" in the asteroid when it split from its main planet or wherever they came from.

From what I remember the director actually did give us some insight, the meteors they come in on in the previous movie is what they are stuck on, and from what I remember they are described as a parasite so it’s inferred that exactly what you said happened, they were on a planet that ended up being destroyed (probably due to them themselves) and chunks came to us from its destruction and they latched on on purpose

I noticed the meteors were not impacting on a high velocity of speed that usually fell from space, like the meteors just impacted just enough for the creatures to survive the kinetic energy of the impact??? My bet world leaders knew about the incoming meteors, my guess they were detected half way through the solar system and more disturbing they knew it was not a bunch of dead space rocks when they noticed the path it was making toward earth.

@3:50 Not really defending the timeline, because I don't really know just like you, however when I was young I have lived in both the south and north and played Little League/Rec Ball. There was Rec Ball all year long in each season except winter. Only in the south have I ever played winter ball. I don't know If times have changed, that was a long long time ago but they could be playing fall ball. And there could be spring ball with some cold days. I remember when played ball in high school, there were three games in the spring where we had these cold snaps out of nowhere.

So I don't know if that was a joint operation with Russian Air Force because those are Russian airplanes we don't use the su-27 or su-30 so I don't know if that was like a cutscene to like Russia doing the same thing trying to contain but we use f-16s f-15s I don't know exactly what year this is in the movie but we would also use the F-22 Raptor maybe it's a world joint operation like you were saying to contain it cuz I don't remember anything in the other two movies about the whole world being gone and I never really asked a question it was it the whole world destroyed and only so many people left or was it just the United States because the meteors were going straight over the United States?
