The son was always scared. Especially in the first movie. This movie shows how scared he actually was. The baseball scene where he flinched every time. When he was scared in the first movie. He overcame his fear to protect his mother and his baby sister. Funny how Jeremy didn't mention the little brother's actor at all. He did extremely well in showing how he was willing to protect his family like Lee, his father would. The mother's character (Emily playing Evelyn Abbott) saw that her son had what her husband had, just like the how Emmett saw Lee in Regan.

I had a pretty good time with this movie, the best part is hands down the opening scene, oh my god, it’s amazing, it gives you a great feeling of tension because it starts off like a completely normal day and then suddenly hits you with the big shit that’s happening, it’s like in those alien invasion movies where they’ll have a scene of kids playing sports and it seems totally normal and then all of a sudden they stop and quietly look into the distance as the ships approach, it’s like that and it’s masterfully done, Emily Blunt also gives a great performance once again, in fact she gets to show off her acting a lot more this time around since this movie has more talking than the first one, it’s not just pure silence anymore, and this movie also has some pretty brutal scenes, there’s one that happens after the opening scene that I thought was pretty hardcore, this movie definitely upped the blood compared to the first one, the movie isn’t perfect though, I think my biggest issue is that once they meet up with Cillian Murphy’s character the movie kinda slows down, there’s a lot of sitting around talking for quite a while and even though it was never to the point where I was like “Oh my god I’m bored out of my mind” it was a little dull in parts, mainly because it mostly exposition, the approach they take is having the cast divided into 2 groups that do 2 different things throughout the movie, and the stuff that goes on with the daughter is definitely more interesting than the stuff with Emily Blunt, that and this movie unfortunately decided to throw quite a few jumpscares into the mix, which was disappointing because the first movie never really sunk to that low, it was a lot more sophisticated with its scares, I also thought the ending was really abrupt, I know the first one kinda had one too but to that movie’s credit when it happened it at least felt like a legit cliffhanger, here it felt like it just suddenly stopped, in the end though this movie was still pretty good, the acting is really strong, it has good tension, good suspense, you get to see more carnage this time, and even though it felt more disjointed than the first one and isn’t as good it was still a decent follow up so I’ll give it a 6/10

The movie was great from start till the last 2 minutes of the film. I dont blame Krasinski for not knowing how to end a movie since it ended abruptly like the first film but again he is new at directing and writing. The film is pretty solid, you have the occasional trolls saying its a bore fest and that they're gonna wait for blu ray cause somehow it's their fault for delaying it cause of covid? 😂 8/10 I would've given it a 9 if the film was longer or had a more grounded ending than a lazy cliffhanger

Lots of Gemini energy with duality throughout the whole film. Something that made no sense to me is that I remember news papers clipping in the first movie, where they discovered that "noise" was important. I remember asking if it was even worth making noise with printers, to print those papers, in a time like that. The second movies flashback show everything moving along pretty quickly so there was no time to print papers and the noise factor was established within 2 minutes of learning about the creatures.

I live in Minnesota. Movie theaters are ALWAYS dead silent. I wish they DID react more passionately. The only audience that ever seemed engaged in my auditorium was for Possessor: Uncut, still shocked they essentially played a UR movie in theaters and they never carded anyone because it was labeled NR since it wasn't the already explicit R-rated cut, it was the gorier director's cut. That movie was amazing, as a Cronenberg fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best films of 2020.

I'm writing from 2024 and about 4 weeks from the Release of "Day One" and Jeremy, you called it! The only difference being that instead of a sequel front-loaded with 10 mins of backstory, we're getting a full-on prequel that talked place in an entirely different environment, New York City. As a man in his forties, raised on 80s thrillers and horror movies that generally took place in rural America or the suburbs, my group of friends would always muse aloud, at the pub or on the walk home, how even a great horror movie would be different if it took place in a place like Chicago or San Francisco. Would Jason, Leatherface or Michael have to duck the police? Not because they couldn't take out a cop or two but just that there are so many cops and FBI and veterans and EMTs and athletes and burly construction workers and mechanics and just millions of people almost everywhere all the time, and up at all hours! Would they have to flip the genre a bit so that those solo psychos become our protagonists? We don't want them to win but in order to kill, they'd have to figure out how to blend in rather than hide. Or maybe hide for much longer, stretching out the tension! There are bright lights, almost always an escape route and (I'm a former EMT myself) emergency vehicles are usually no more than 5-7 mins away. We used to get to scenes especially fast on weekday nights when there was little traffic! My curiosity about that particular lone wolf scenario won't be answered on the 27th but it will be interesting to see how people used to living around a lot of noise adjust to having to learn how to be extremely quiet. All the hiding places around can't save you if one of those creatures with their acute hearing is anywhere nearby, the word, "near" having been redefined to account for their completely unfair advantage. I loved AQP2 and can't wait to see how Krasinsky & Co. treat my hometown specifically but the concept of city horror generally.

This comment is gonna piss off a lot of people… A Quiet Place Part 2 was my second most anticipated movie of 2021 (right behind Halloween Kills) and I didn’t like this movie. There are things in it that I liked, in fact the first 10 minutes is my favorite scene out of both movies, but the bad out ways the good for me. I can see why people would like it, but I honestly struggle to see how people say it’s better than the first. But that’s just my own personal opinion
@barbaraw12453 жыл бұрын
I definitely wouldn't say it's better than the first but why do you dislike it so strongly?
@herosam13903 жыл бұрын
@@barbaraw1245 A few reasons. 1. They completely disregarded the ending of the first movie where all the monsters were running towards the house 2. The fact that they could just hide in the bunker that Emmet (Cillian Murphy) had. In the first movie, they had something similar, but they still had to be quiet and the most they could do was whisper. In this movie’s bunker, someone screams at the top of their lungs (not saying who or why because of spoilers) and then it does that thing where it cuts to the outside of the bunker with no sound to show how soundproof the bunker is. With this, it feels like they’re in less danger, hence not as scary 3. When Emmet told Regan “I’m taking you home”, she had no idea what he was saying because he wasn’t signing or enunciating. But then a couple minutes later, he says “I found a boat” without signing or enunciating and she perfectly understands him. Maybe I missed something with that, but I doubt I did 4. By the end of the movie, almost nothing was resolved. It felt like they ended the movie when there was still about 45 minutes left. So overall, I didn’t hate this movie. There are stuff in it that I really liked, in fact the opening 10 minutes is my favorite scene out of both movies, but to me, the bad outweighs the good.

They filmed part of this movie in my small fishing town. Production trailers were parked in our church’s parking lot and my best friend’s yard backs up to the church. We were out by a bonfire smoking bowls and hanging out while John Krasinski & Emily Blunt were about 15 feet away. Besides my friends grandma loudly proclaiming “I saw a quiet place 1 and I thought it sucked!” within earshot, it was one of the most fun and magical weekends in my town to watch the filming process take place. They paid families $500 each to vacate their homes for two days to film. Much more money than many take in on a weekend around here.

The movie overall was OK. On “Day 1” they seemed to know too much along the along the lines of being quiet in the store. I mean you gotta imagine your town is getting attacked by an alien and people pile into a store people would be saying “what the fuck is that thing” or “did you see that?!” Not knowing it had supersonic hearing. They would still be quiet but not “a quiet place” quiet. 2nd the Family walks around barefoot. Their feet are shown a lot to illustrate this. Regen even walked so much barefoot her feet were bleeding. However, Emmett is wearing boots.... just strange since I’m led to believe shoes are too loud..... 1 last thing.... the monster can’t swim. Great. I was ok with that. But then your gonna say the 1 monster took a boat ride to that island? Like what are the odds? Did it randomly float there? Did it use an oar? WTF?!
@a.r.jackson45903 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The beginning threw me off as well. They knew too much abt the aliens to really make it feel like it was Day 1

@@a.r.jackson4590 No it’s natural instinct to hide and be as quiet as possible. It just happens that they were blind too.

I feel like this film opened a lot more plot holes that weren’t present in the first. Like, they can’t swim and they’re blind, so how did that monster know to stay on the boat the entire ride. Sure they probably hear water, but how can they tell the difference between waterfalls, rain, and sprinklers in order to avoid bodies of water.

Bad writing. The intro ends after the creature is chasing them and they don’t explain how they escape when they were surely gonna get taken out. Also did I miss something, did they also avoid explaining how they escaped all the creatures going for them at the end of the first film?
