These are rebadged corroless paints - look up arc rite on eBay or their website to get the same stuff for a really good price. It is good stuff though..

Wrong. CIO, FCP, 2k chassis armour, zero prep all unique to Buzzweld.
@trailerfitter28 жыл бұрын
The products do however have an uncanny resemblance to each other arc rite paint and Buzzweld. . Corroless is well known and does the same job as RCP.

www.buzzweld.com Are the chemical formulations unique or are the trade names? Thanks for the clarification.

Yes you are quite correct Fred.

Just done the same radius arms on my P38 and used the buzzweld rust encapsulator and the cio and can say i was impressed. I found using a polycarbide abrasive disc cut through the rust much better than the wire disks, the only downside is they wear down quicker.

Grinder and wire wheels are a messing and skin tearing hassle. Tank of water molasses mix and two weeks will have all those parts clean and shiny. Other option is remove all loose rust and treat with phosphoric acid. Converts the rust to a black oxide and when painted helps prevent further rust.

Vinegar is very useful. I have a pot with the smaller bits in for removing the rust. Works well. The smell however is not very nice in the workshop.

I removed the RCP and the CIO using a wire brush, as you can see the RCP turned the rust black but the CIO removed the rust and turned it shiny.....hahahahaha...I think it was the wire brush that turned it shiny not the CIO as the brush would also have removed the rust.. Good video, very informative and I know where I will be buying my protection from when I come to do my chassis soon. Keep up the good work Guys.

Nah, wire brush is not that good.

@Land Rover Toolbox Videos Hi,I enjoyed the video on rust prevention. What are your views or experience if any on Cold Galvanising Paint?,otherwise known as ZG90 or Zinga. It's basically galvanising in a tin,and apparently it's better rust protection that Hot Galvanising. Just wondered if you have ever tried it and how effective it is. I am doing an experiment with it at the moment in my back yard,4 months ago I painted by hand some ZG90 zinc primer on my rusty Barbeque lid,i sanded it down to bare steel then painted the ZG90 on, so far not a speck of rust and it's been like that for months in the rain etc. It has no top coat protection either,just that primer, any thoughts or ideas for the ultimate rust prevention

why is hammerite rubbish? I used it on few parts of my chassis
@trailerfitter28 жыл бұрын
It is brittle and does't really fight against rust as it should.
@PyleHD8 жыл бұрын
I thought of paining the naked chassis with Hammerite and then stone chip protector all over it. What do you think about that?
@trailerfitter28 жыл бұрын
Stone chip needs a coat of paint over the top of it. It is very pourous. I really don't know if stone chip would be effective that close to the road but I see where you are thinking. Waxoyl would be better as that what it is designed for. Stone chip is bodywork orientated. I'm doing our chassis in Corroless primer from Arc Rite paints then painting chassis black over the top of it and then a layer of schultz on it. ( waxoyl equivalent) .

Thanks for help, my project is coming along slowley so I have enough time to do some research and think about it

Of course. I will be covering a few different paint alternatives if you are not in a hurry.
