I have been enjoying A Song of Ice & Fire TMG so much lately. At the time this came out I just wasn't ready for it but now, damn, this game hit me hard. Once you see these models in person the feel and detail will surprise you. The game itself has just so much nuance to it as well. Anyways, thanks again guys for the battle report. Cheers!

Awesome report again. Just for future the Stormcrow Lt doesn’t give the unit they are in the key name ‘Stormcrows’. But the Bastard Girls died off the card anyways and made no difference 😂

Hey Ash, I always figured that the A Song of Ice and Fire Minis would have made great skirmish game (use the trays when playing normally and not when playing skirmish) but what rules set would you use? I am almost tempted to say Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game rules.

Should have been a point for Tormund's unit as they lost 'Insignificant' due to Walder. Edit: Also, Flayed Men have lost Critical Blow completely and only get Vicious on the Charge. They're not very good for 9 points anymore!

@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames I remember those halcyon days when the Flayed Men (and Greataxes) were still good! The extra point didn't matter in the end. It was a quite a comprehensive victory for Owen. He must be enjoying using a competitive faction instead of the Baratheons.

can you place other kind of terrain? like houses, rivers and hills? and still use the rules for terrain from the core rules?

Yes, the ones provided are just examples, the rulebook gives you all of the terrain keywords as a framework to use other terrain and agree on keywords for each terrain piece with your opponent before the game. I very rarely see people using other terrain though, I guess because it's such a 'straight out of the box' wargame. It's a shame, because I think big impassable pieces of terrain like buildings would really make the game more dynamic.

When the Bastard’s Girls disorderly charged in and killed themselves with Reckless Strikes, you shouldn’t have been able to play the card in the first place since the charge was disorderly.

Check what edition of the rules you have. In 1.5.1 you roll a D3+1 to see what the damage is to the unit when it makes a test, along with the D6s. Any can be re-rolled with a panic counter.

When we played this line up my free folk got battered. An I came away feeling like the neural cards were very strong.

as usual ash bends the rules to his liking. if you are using new giants rules than its 1.5.1 so flayed men dont have crit blow anymore. also vicious is only on the charge.

The game is based on the books, not the tv show, as far as I know, there are currently no plans for an "undead" army.

The Freefolks Have killed the fun. Far too powerfull... It's Boring. Map control. Not so weak while attacking, Can come back, 3 ncu easy, moves fast, only need to take the horse, giants... And this was not the Best general choice... 😅
