Nice job! I need a new tape measure and the Craftsmen 12 looks sweet. I would love to know what you did in your past life. Must be automotive based with all those toolboxes and automotive signs and banners. Love your videos.

I think you are the only woodworker that gives dimension in thousands of inches

Fine woodworking is to that level weather it is expressed that way or not. To me if you think in .000, your work will come to a higher standard.

Great video as usual. In fine woodworking 1/32" is commonly considered precision Then you come in talking and working in thousandths ! Someday it may make a nice project to make a little wooden box to put your OCD medicine :-)

For "ease of use" best tape I ever used had a lock on the bottom. As soon as you squeezed measuring tape with your finger tips it let the tape out nice and smooth. Less pressure and it would lock the tape in place. Durable, NOPE, but easy and convenient to use... and that why I don't use tapes that seem easier to use in a professional setting any more; damn thing fell apart in no time. Just a plain ole Stanley for decent cost and durability.
@BurtonsAttic5 жыл бұрын
I did wonder about the durability of it but it seems well made and for the price I can't complain.
@ianide24805 жыл бұрын
@@BurtonsAttic Keep in mind I am talking about durability in extreme cases, though certainly not unheard of. "On the job" is hard on every tool I've ever owned. Doing home renovations, remodeling, and just general contracting work. In a shop making the odd item or two, I'm sure all my tapes would have lasted quite a bit longer, even if used daily.

Do you have two table saws bolted side by side? Or am I seeing things? Also, you bringing a machinists level of accuracy to woodworking is a prescription for increased levels of Jack Daniels intake! 🥴Nice job tho, you are truly a Renaissance man!

No your seeing double.........Yes, the other side is a router table and the fence can be used for it also!

i am a finishing carpenter and it's a pain to watch you work wood like a machinist not a carpenter , nice work still look good
@BurtonsAttic5 жыл бұрын
Why is that Alain? I thought finish carpenters are very precise? What should I be doing different?
@flyingmaniac38275 жыл бұрын
@@BurtonsAttic yha we are hahaha but we use more the mesuring tape then the machinist caliper , but like I said great job , don't change anything ,as a amateur wood worker you did a fine Job , I guess it's just me being used to be faster with a good old mesuring tape .
