@@Linhdoesstuff If I'm not mistaken the original episodes script for season 1 were deemed 'too dense' in story and they diluted it a bit so they could make a second season with them if the first one got good reception, which it did, and I remember hearing a rumour that it's been set to release somewhere in 2021!

This is a good show and Netflix didn’t want to lend them money to make another season. That does tell you being a multi billion dollar company and with plenty of money in stocks could literally help other shows stay on the air. SPOILERS for anyone who hasn't seen the complete season 1: This might get meta, but I think the Mystics being 'wrong' about these two is part of the storytelling, The Dark Crystal film and series seem to comment on ideas about an absolute Good versus/and Evil. The original UrSkek aliens were incredibly powerful beings, but not truly godlike. The reason behind their split is explained differently in the film and the series so I'll leave that up to interpretation - but the original happy ending is achieved by the agents of Good and Evil re-integrating into singular beings that master both 'sides of the coin'. It's easy to then say "Aha, so The Dark Crystal storytelling seems to imply a sort of neutral dualism!" BUT the UrSkeks are at first and in the end good beings - it seems that the inner Good has an upper hand on the inner Evil. So maybe the Mystics were overly confident in their chances. You could also see it like this: the Skeksis are the aggressive, act-before-they-think ones of the two groups. They send the Hunter in who attacks the hideout in the video above - but then the Archer (iirc) shows up because he follows the Hunter. The Mystics are more of the passive response, realising stuff in hindsight (like the old master regretting not teaching Jen things earlier in his life). But these are just theories...
