Today we’re going to talk about a unique way to cleanse a fatty liver. These tips may seem counterintuitive at first, but they work.
The liver is about 3 and a half pounds, sits over the right side of the body, and has over 500 different functions. When someone starts to develop a fatty liver, there can be no symptoms at all. But, eventually, the person may start to develop a gut, and as the condition becomes more advanced, they may start to notice symptoms of a fatty liver, such as:
• Fatigue
• Weakness
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain
• Right shoulder pain
• Pain in the upper right trap
• Headaches on the right side
• Pain in the right rhomboid
After years of inflammation from having a fatty liver, cirrhosis (scar tissue) builds up on the liver and can cause the person to lose the function of the liver and lose the ability to detoxify. It can also lead to the building up of excessive amounts of cortisol (the stress hormone) or excessive amounts of estrogen. A functional liver is really important in the detoxification and regulation of these two hormones.
The other problem when you have less liver function is you get less bile production. This situation can lead to the inability to break down toxic waste and fats, and the inability to absorb certain vitamins and nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, K, omega 3 fatty acids, and more.
There are two different categories of a fatty liver:
• Fatty Liver - caused by drinking too much alcohol.
• Non-Alcoholic Fatty liver (NAFL) - can be developed by eating poorly.
The big thing that causes a fatty liver is fructose in the form of high fructose corn syrup. It is 20x more likely to cause fatty liver than any other sugars. Two of the most important nutrients for correcting or reversing a fatty liver are methionine and choline, and they are in foods that are higher in fat and protein.
Fatty Liver Cleansing Tips:
• Do a combination of cruciferous vegetables and fattier proteins (egg yolks, fish - but make sure they are grass-fed)
• Get rid of the toxins and fat from the liver by doing a healthy ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting
• Take choline as a supplement (400 to 500mg)
• You can get methionine from quality protein

I want to thank you Dr Berg for all your videos on liver health and fasting. I was diagnosed with a small 4mm benign tumor and fatty liver back in 2017. It progressed to NASH with 17% liver fat and the tumor grew to 2cm as well. Well after watching your videos I immediately started fasting 16 hours and eating only organic cruciferous veggies, the kale, kefir and blue berry smoothie, eggs, bacon, whole lemon with water all blended, raw onions, sardines, cod liver .... everything you teach to the T. I cut out carbs and sugar completely from my diet. WELL UNBELIEVABLY in only 3 months after another MRI and hida scan of my liver the findings are amazing. First of all the tumor is completely gone and I no longer have NASH but a very mild fatty liver, only 7% after only 3 months. My triglycerides went from 389 to144. My cholesterol is still a little high 207 but I feel remarkable not to mention that I lost 25 pounds went from 185 lbs to 160 lbs. This has now become a lifestyle ... THANK YOU and may GOD bless you always.

My aim when starting Keto wasn't to loose weight, it was to get a bit more ripped. No one told me I was either fat or overweight I should add. Now after 2 years, I have shorts that are way too big. The fat I have lost around the mid section is staggering. In addition I can manage my hunger and nutrition better, and feel much better than I did on a normal, balanced diet. Hi, I haven’t found that to be true. I think there is a lot of bad press about Keto. There are times when I really fancy eating something else, maybe every 4 months or so. At times it might kick me out of Keto for a few days but then I restart. The main reason I stay on Keto is that I like it, and I feel so much better overall. I also eat a lot less protein than I would have to eat normally to build muscle. My suggestion would be to keep monitoring your liver enzymes every 6 months. They will be an indicator if your body is reacting against a high fat diet. Dont hesitate to send me a message or email if you need more feedback

Uchiba Uki interesting but I have to say that tobacco back in their day was healthier than the stuff with additives today. There are a lot of people out there who die of one thing or another. The key is balance and of course whatever is genetic. All our foods today are fast or the animals have been given something to produce faster. I think we’ve all been slowly poisoned over the years.

These are my notes: Fatty Liver (25% of the population has): Signs: weak, nauseous, pain. Makes excessive cortisol (stress hormone). The biggest cause is fructose Best is eat egg yolks, liver, grass fed dairy, cruciferous veggies. (Steaming or slightly cooking) Also need meat chicken, pork, fish and nuts Most important nutrients in reversing fatty liver: eat high saturated fat and protein. Low fat diet won’t create enough bile. Must Lower Carbs and Eat Lots of Veggies. Intermittent fasting to use glycogen reserve and run off fat. Start by taking an extra 400 - 500 mg choline supplement, can go to maximum 3,000 mg to speed up the process of dissolving the fat in the liver. Eggs are essential for choline

I thought i t was a fluke, but the increased energy has continued throughout the week. I am able to go on walks and get my housework done, and stopped having brain fog. This is really significant. Short and to the point, and very sobering with my situation. I'm very skinny and have prided myself for years about 'being able to eat what I want'. It occured to me while I was eating a ton of sweet juicy fruits that, for about a week, I hadn't sat down on the toilet productively. I was experiencing massive confusion and brain fog, among other symptoms. Then somebody reminded me that I was extremely low on fat, and that olive oil was the best for bile duct production. Over a week later, I'm now releasing excessive sugars, threw out some serious food in the garbage and and now going more into the proteins and fats. I realized that my take on fruits was extremely over done. Thanks Dr. Berg!

To his credit, he didn’t prescribe meds but gave me advice to consume high omega-3s to combat cholesterol buildup. He didn’t tell me that fructose was a major contributor, which would’ve been very helpful information as I love sweets. Dr Berg, I’m a ‘skinny’, my naturopath said because I grew up with my ‘fight or flight’ response basically switched on all of the time... my liver was the same as an alcoholic. I haven’t ever been a heavy drinker... after a few early experiences in my teens with overdoing alcohol I gave up altogether. However, being a type A personality and running on my adrenals for first half of my life, ( cfs for the other up until a few years ago ) I am now dealing with high cholesterol. I’ve been on keto for a year. I love how my life and energy levels have improved. 🎉 I have put myself on spirulina when I learnt how great it was for the body, I’m hoping to assist my gall bladder and liver to function at their optimum. My question is: As the fatty liver heals... does it let the stored fats out into the bloodstream? Could that why my cholesterol levels are unexpectedly high after a year of keto? Thanks for your help ❤️🙏🏼 much appreciation.

Great videos! I changed my primary doctor after my kidney stones. Found out that I had Gout, which appears to be the cause of all my problems. I had put on weight and had fatty liver, along with high blood sugars, high blood pressure, my arm pits were dark, and I was in extreme pain all the time (could barely walk or stand) and couldn't get in to a deep sleep. Getting rid of the gout was the start, little by little, I was able to exercise more because the gout was gone. I stuck to a Gout diet and ate a lot more fruit and leafy green veggies. I felt better, I lost weight, a lot of fat, my blood sugar dropped to normal levels, blood pressure was good, I really feel great! My goal is to drop another 175lbs but I don't have a set date. I want to drop 2lbs every week and keep my blood sugar below 125. Also my ketones are up around .9. I'm shedding fat like a hot knife through butter. 10,000 steps per day. Thanks Dr. Berg!

I've also committed to lowering my sugar intake to 10g or less a day, It's a big step for me since I rarely tell myself no to sweets since I eat clean with everything else. Looking forward to the change I want to see. Good luck to all on their healthy journey!

I am benefitting quite a bit from a number of your videos. I am now taking Fish Oil, Benfotiamine, Vitamins K and D3, all from watching various videos you have made over the last few months. I have quit taking a blood pressure med I had only been on for about 6 months, but which was starting to have negative effects on my circulation. And this week on your advice I have added Selenium, wow, it has had the greatest positive effect overnight! I can already tell it is working well to improve my overall health! I appreciate that your videos are concise, each has a specific subject which you explain clearly and give the reasons how it goes wrong, suggestions on what to do to start fixing it, you share observations on if this is happening in your health, then you can... Really like and appreciate the content of your videos. I have also bought alpha-lipoic acid and your gallbladder formula in the last month, definitely helping! I also appreciate your discussions of take these vitamins together, take this other one at another time of day recommendations and reasons why that is best. I can't afford to buy into your course, I am so glad you make the content available anyway, without being greedy. My health is improving, I can even do the tapping on the back of my head to reduce the noise of tinnitus, that is so cool, I had no idea that method even existed! Thank you, thank you so much for everything!!!!!

Years ago my teacher had me do a liver flush that clean the liver. She said to put in a blender four to six cloves of garlic , 1/4 cup of olive oil and one lemon peeled and remove seeds and 6 oz. of orange juice. Blend then drink. Do this for three days.

@connora9504 3 жыл бұрын
Fasting from food but drinking orange juice every day is counterproductive. You are just eliminating the possibility to enter ketosis as your body is relying on the sugar in the juice and then you are starving yourself for a few days, with intermittent blood sugar spikes. Olive oil, garlic and lemon are good for a variety of reasons, but mixing it with orange juice is nonsense. "Juice cleanses" using sugary juices don't work.

Matthew while this video has the right intention, so much of it is so bad for the human body. How can a high fat high protein diet be good for health. I have been on a fruit and natural carb eating ie potatoes, especially sweet, lots more plant whole foods of all types, with less fat and getting my protein from Mother Nature. My body is now healing, I am now feeling the best I have in years. Keep an open mind, take a look at Medical Medium, who explains how the body works in ways not yet discovered by medical science, any fats, even healthy fats can be bad for the body in high amounts and he explains why. Also explains the root causes of chronic illness in detail, which medical profession still to this day cannot answer. Healing millions around the Globe from Chronic Illness.

Paul Barclay yeah, food industry, pharma hard science!!!! I will trust my spirit and gut instinct any day, I have already proved to myself that Medical Medium is healing, and I am one of millions!! I only put the information out there for food for thought, just because there is science, does not mean it is correct! (Always follow the money as to who funded the so called hard science, not many are truly independent and most are tainted with influence about their outcomes!) I will also trust Mother Nature any day, thus my choice!

He specifically states exactly what his credentials are if you care to read his remarks above, after his clear summary of what he said in the video. What is clear in every one of his videos is that he is really interested in what actually works and how it works, and knows that after the AMA has messed with the population so long peddling drugs which made us worse, he prefers natural solutions which work well. His calm and precise delivery is easy to follow and what he suggests works. He has been doing this a long time, and has created an organization which serves the public well. Low-fat was the worse plague upon the American diet, and keto diet is the solution, with lots of fat. And cabbage, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, celery, avocado, kale. Almond milk and MCTs. Real butter. Sugar Free uncured Bacon. Life changing. EXERCISE.

Dear Dr.Eric Berg, I would like to take the time to Thankyou. As you/your video had helped me overcome my fatty liver disease. I had been drinking alcohol quite heavily for the past few years, a Champagne bottle a single day (or 1-2 on the weekends) constantly 7 days a week. Ultrasound had detected fatty liver and it ended up hurting, unable to sleep on my right and pain after I eat, which is likely from expanding of the stomach pushing the liver or the liver working too hard. I ended up quitting drinking (myself without medicine or therapy.. and boy was it difficult at the start), watched your video and followed your dieting tips. Thankfully I have overcome the fatty liver (possible hepatitis also due to the pain) and healed. The liver count is satisfactory and no fibrosis or cirrhosis. Thankyou so much. James

Hey there, Dr. Berg! I love your content and as a practitioner myself, it's wonderful to tune into your videos when I am searching for deeper answers to something. I am curious about liver detoxification when someone is sulfur intolerant? Sulfur is so necessary for detoxification along with so many other functions, but what can be done when high sulfur foods send someone into major anxiety attacks, hives, and really other unpleasant symptoms? When they take out high sulfur foods, everything clears up and they are even tempered. Pathway 2 is definitely struggling (estrogen dominance, multiple chemical sensitivities, emf sensitivity, etc). It's been an interesting process trying to understand this. I'd love to hear your thoughts or a video surrounding sulfur intolerance and liver detox as literally NO ONE has talked about these two simultaneously. Thanks in advance and have a wonderful weekend! ❤🎉

I really enjoyed the information here! I’ve had hepatitis my whole life. I contracted it at age 2. Was diagnosed with full cirrhosis in 2004 via laparoscopic & biopsy procedures. I’m curious as to how I can help my liver . I don’t have a gallbladder. I don’t take any prescriptions either. I am very much into the most natural way of helping my liver. I do clean it with lemon water. I also drink a lot of water. No sodas at all . I’ve been trying some aloe juice, & love herbal teas. I try to get most of my natural supplements in a soft gel or liquid form. Tablets have too many fillers. Caps I can see through are key also. One of my favorite meals in the morning is yogurt with wheat germ & fresh fruits. I’m very particular about my foods & liquids. I’m not a big meat person but prefer the organic grain fed bison, beef & chicken. I love almost all vegetables steamed or raw. I am fully aware of how the liver functions and its ability to keep our bodies detoxified. What else can I do to help it even though it’s scarred ?

Dr. Berg KNOWS what he's talking about in this video. I was diagnosed with NAFLD about 8 years ago, with my gallbladder removed and an ERCP surgery a year after since I was still experiencing intense gallbladder attack-like symptoms. I was then diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia (sphincter of the oddi dysfunction). Long story short, there was no solution other than taking highly expensive digestive pills for the rest of my life. After 5-6 months of "clean" keto and IF, I'm pain-free and I no longer have to take Ox-bile pills. Keto has been truly transformational!!

The moment I heard "cortisol", I wanted to check something. I'm someone with many of the symptoms described in the video. I also have pretty grey hair at age 35, and my first grays started appearing at around 20. So I searched "cortisol grey hair". Lo and behold, Nature has published a study earlier this year that found a connection. Well, I personally knew that "stress" was causing it for me. But I didn't imagine it could also be my faulty liver producing too much _stress hormone_. Honestly I can't believe this isn't already main stream health information. They should have taught things like these to everyone in high school. So we could all just live healthier and better.

I had symtoms before it got bad. Mostly a stabbing pain in my liver - especially while bending over and doing yoga. I had NAFLD - diagnosed. I was eating REALLY healthy. I do not do drugs or drink or smoke. I do yoga, stretch, walk daily. And yet I got fatty liver. The way I healed it was to begin my journey with Intermittent Fasting. It was one of the best things I have ever done for my body. I lost 45 lbs. and gained tons of energy and felt like all my internal organs were thanking me for doing this. It is something I will do for life. Anyway, I just wanted to say I HAD SYMPTOMS and my liver was NOT that bad. I reversed it with Milk Thistle and Alpha Lipoic Acid. I was NOT eating the sugar you described - at all. I read ingredients. I shop at health food stores. I only eat coconut oil, olive oil and some butter. I cut out all sugar - except for berries - period. When I went back for a scan - 6 months later - they said there was little difference in the scan - which shocked me. How could this be? I don't know if I even trust their scans. Anyway, I eat salad with a homemade cole slaw that has TONS of healthy ingredients - ACV, 2 types of cabbage, carrots, garlic, tumeric root, celery, etc. - EVERY day I put this in a salad with mixed greens - no dressing because the "slaw" has liquid which serves as a "dressing". I eat protein. I eat the HEALTHY fats daily. ETC.
