Yup. I've had *awful* experiences with vets, mechanics, and doctors- multiple times. I learned my lesson that I know my body/vehicle/pet better than they do, and 90% of the time, I can figure out a solution better, quicker, and cheaper than the "professionals."

Im happy Nala seems to be better!🙂 My cat had a pretty bad ear infection. Videos suggested after antibiotic drops are put in, to massage the ear for at least 30 seconds for it to work its way into the canal. Once at the vet, she administered drops, I started massaging as I was holding my cat. The vet grabbed her after 5 seconds & was pushing her into the cage saying “Thats good” as I was still trying to work it in. In other words she may as well just yelled “NEXT!” Unfortunately, just a business for most. 😢

Hi Natasha ( Quest out west ) I totally hear you we had a vet here that said she would kill our cat if we didn't hand her 15 hundred dollars to save his life and ALL it was was a serving of Green peas ( You might try that with your cat as we had the same cat ) and it made him pass his hair balls I will give you a word of Advise The Tidy cat Clump and seal litter will dehydrate your babies that's what killed our cat and dehydrated him sucked all moisture out of his body he died with in a year of us being out of the travel life while we had to be home

😲 thank you. They have seemed dehydrated. I will look into that.

You're most welcome (I'm Shannon:)!! Vets can be frustrating. I've been to many in different places and most don't really seem to know how to diagnose cats. They just give lots of different meds and, hopefully, one works. It's very similar to how physicians are in the US...leading and "treating" with meds instead of diagnosis and solving the issue. I wish I could find a holistic vet. Take care!!! 😻

I stopped giving my two cats fish food because the mercury in it was causing them to become ill. Hope your baby is doing better. I have a camper truck and bring my furbabies with me when i travel. I keep a portable air purifier for my babies as well as myself. Helps with my asthma. ✌
@QuestOutWest Жыл бұрын
Thats a good idea. A portable air purifier.

Vets are mostly doing it for the money. Its getting more expensive everyday. I haven't met a good one.
@lauraslanesvanlifetravels Жыл бұрын
yes I agree vets are like doctors of any kind and they only go by the general practices they don't think all natural about anything...and can we get some claps for the dramatic snow falling cat scene, that was awesome! 😀

Not all people know this, but cats are pure carnivores …even moreso than dogs! Cats need meat, not fish, as their main staple. I either feed raw ground meat or grain free dry kibble with meat(s) as largest ingredients. This will keep kitties (& dogs) their healthiest, as they get sick from the corn & other crap fillers & additives that are in dry food with grain. The same goes for tinned food …get the meat versions instead of fish. Please read the labels of your pet food because if corn or other grain is in the first 3-5 ingredients, you are doing your pets a nutritional injustice! Feed animals well & they won’t need to be going to the vet, except for emergencies. PSA over (😆) & sending much love, as always 🐾❤️🥰

💯!!! its weird that they are given so much fish. I used to feed them raw meat but not having a fridge makes it impossible. So now I give them stella and cheweys chicken or duck and chicken. I plan to get them back on raw soon when I move out of the van. Its crazy that vets dont tell you this.

I’ve had two different experiences with vets. I got a cat from a friend. She had been taking the cat to one vet. The vet did the same thing, poking and prodding, running up a cost to $5k. The cat was finally diagnosed with what should have been more immediately diagnosed. IBD. Despite the incredible bill my friend paid, I continued to take the cat, now under my care, to this vet - until the cat came home so injured, I needed emergency care. After this experience, I began taking the cat to my regular vet. No problems. In fact, after going through the previous vet’s notes, I found some information that I asked my friend about. She had never been informed of the results of testing and other things. The previous vet also prescribed medication to calm the cat. Yet, my vet has never said anything except how calm the cat is. In fact yesterday, my husband reported that the cat climbed right onto the scales for weight check. And was calm the entire time! Had the previous vet handled the cat in a more humane way, this vet would have seen what a wonderful patient she had!

Awwwwww... I'm so glad Nala is feeling better ☺ When you held her up to say hello to us, I was like, dang! Who's eyes are bluer, Natasha or Nala 🤔😄 Both sets are bluetiful!!! 🤗 So the other night , did the SB music go away or no? Also, just an FYI, I dont know if I discovered it on my own or it was already a thing but, to make a hot latte that tastes like StarB, hot water, instant coffee made kinda strong and add powdered coffee creamer. So dam good and not 6$ a pop. Stay warm up "yonder" ☺ Wish I was getting snow and not a lot of rain. See yall next time ☺🌹

Google is a better tool for diagnosis than going to a vet!!! Always do this, especially for prescription drug side effects, interactions and adverse reactions. I just had a cat die from a negligent vet. This vet also hid her radiologist's report from me, which had explained her issues she was never treated for or given a referral. I learned to request their records after every visit too. This cat was really special to me, she was a very healthy and active senior I had for 19 years. If I would have goggled care and prescriptions, she'd still be alive because I would have gotten a second opinion or went to a specialist. If the vet doesn't explain things, give you written instructions, give you at home care instructions and very specific instructions for drugs and emergencies regarding their diagnosis, then don't spend another dime there. Lookup how to spot a bad vet.

I have a dog that I’ve had for 16 years. And that time I’ve treated him for a half dozen or so problems just by googling it on the Internet. What are they present with what do they need how do you get it in them it’s about the thought train that it takes.
