The fact that it comes with hydraulic brakes, tapered head tube, and 29er+ wheels are definitely bonuses. I have seen several other YT channels buying the Kent Trouvaille, but this looks to be a slight upgrade to it.
@RunBikeMike2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is two levels above the Trouvaille. And looked to offer the best parts.
@collinscarbro45892 жыл бұрын
But you can put 200$ into the Kent and have a way nicer bike than this and spend less
@RunBikeMike2 жыл бұрын
With that said what parts would you go for with that $200. If it were me I would 1st go hydraulic brakes for sure and if possible a dropper post.

@@RunBikeMike yeah hydraulic brakes I put a shimano tecktro forward hydraulic break and a new saddle I still need to get a rear brake and I’m also putting a new cassette on it along with shifter and derailer because I didn’t like how you couldn’t see what gear you were in on your cockpit I’m gonna make it a 1 by 10 so the shifting is a lot smoother lastly I will get sealed bearings on everything

I am really enjoying this bike. I have had it for 2 weeks now. I let my local bike shop put it together and look it over and they were impressed with the specs on this bike. This is entry level bike shop quality in my opinion, actually better for the price in my eyes. I am very happy with this bike and highly recommend it.

Also, I'm curious why the intrepid is so heavy. It's a good 1-1.5lbs heavier than the Trouvaille from what I've seen. What are your initial thoughts/findings for the weight difference?
@RunBikeMike2 жыл бұрын
Could be the 120mm fork and I also believe the frame is slightly bigger. Plus my scale is not super accurate as it is just a fish scale. So I might weigh it on several scales this next video. I came up with a little over 36lbs about 5 times before I said ok that is as good as this scale will get.

I just ordered this bike. Do I need to buy grease or any other extra tools to put this together?
@RunBikeMike2 жыл бұрын
It does come with tools to assemble it. Everything should be greased from the factory. However some areas might not have grease that should. Like any of the metal on metal treaded areas. So having grease on hand is a good idea.

hey thanks. I'm in the slightest drizzle and suffering from rust altho I wipe off the chain. is grease the answer? DG SD CA@@RunBikeMike
@RunBikeMike Жыл бұрын
@@dgunde13gunderson78 No you don't want to use grease. Grease will allow more dirt to stick to your drivetrain and wear it out quickly also get all over you when you ride. You need a good Wet weather lube like this. amzn.to/3sKx6Le Add the lube then spin the chain backwards for about 10-20 turns. Then take a clean towel and clean off the extra lube on the chain. You only need a fine coat of lube to really keep it running smooth. If your bike gets wet each week. I would recommend checking and lubing every week.

Just got my Trouvaille in the mail and assembled it this weekend. The rear brakes suck, but it does have a 42 tooth, which is weird this Giordano has a 40 tooth. The kickstand is pretty hefty. Take it off to save some weight - even if the flange is left over...
@RunBikeMike2 жыл бұрын
Make sure you bed in the brakes. Mine where very soft until I bedded them in. And I wish they added the 42 tooth. I know on the two Gio bikes they went 40. So crazy. Definitely will be dropping that kickstand too.
