Paul, I'm 71 one years old and I've always wondered what I wanted to be when I grow up.... and I decided...... I want to be YOU!! Well, okay maybe not because you do such a wonderful job of being you and I would totally mess it up.... But, I do want to learn how to paint in this loose flowy way. I love it!! My problem is I try to control the paint too much and it ends up controlling me... I'm so glad to be on this journey though... it has been a lot of fun. I hope you have a wonderful week.. see you next time! Sending lots of love from Alabama!

I was asked to do a demonstration on how to use those inscribe pastels as there was a promotion on them and they thought it might help sales. I used them like pans of watercolour by just adding water on the brush and picking up the colour. I demonstrated shading by adding colour to areas directly on to the paper then going over it with the brush dragging the wet colour over it blending the colours. The people didn't know you could do that and 3/4 of stock sold that day. Going outside the box I think they call it

Oh Paul (OMG I've just reminded myself of the deranged nurse in the film 'Misery' who always greeted her bedridden victim with a lovestruck 'Oh Paul'). Moving swiftly along. Hi Paul. This is an amazing tutorial and I can't wait to dig out my 20 year old box of pastels and there may be a lot of digging involved, but when used in moderation as you have done here, it really adds a wonderful little pop of 'light' to the painting and it is such a simple thing to do but so effective. I am so glad you showed us how to do this. So many thanks again as always for all your generosity and good humour, signed, Annie Wilkes 😱

Hi Paul mate, cracking little painting, I always say, if you haven't made a mistake, then you have never tried.. I have used the hairspray before, it can save you a few bob.. plus if you have not got anything else, it is a great substitute.. I love your sense of humour, I am originally from Liverpool, and have the same sense of humour as you.. I used to get hold of pictures from the charity shops, most had a mount in them, then I would paint the frames and if needed paint the mounts also, if you are just starting out with painting, I think any frame and mount will do, its better than none at all. I love the looseness of this paint, and its on my to do list...😉 Take care mate Tom
