We used condoms every time, and I guess he may have run out. He chose not to pull out. When I told him I was pregnant, he broke up with me and demanded that I have an abortion. I don't believe in abortion, so I chose to keep the baby. I understood that he wasn't going to be there, but it still hurt. No, you don't have to be a parent, but child support will make you financially responsible. Child support does not care about you saying you don't want children. This is a similar situation I found myself in. I ended up pregnant and the guy I was laying with 100% wanted me to abort, I couldn't go through with that decision regardless of how much I had "messed up". He said he therefore didn't want to be involved if I was keeping the baby. I said okay, I accept your decision, cause you can't force a grown person to want what they don't want. Did this man not get even more upset and started being toxic and bad mouthing me and tryna manipulate me to abort and the sad thing is that the entire time he wouldn't take responsibility for his own actions that got us in that situation. I knew I had unprotected sex, but he kept tryna blame me for getting pregnant as if we didn't both have unprotected sex. If you can't change the actions that got you into that situation, the realistic thing is to accept any involvement you had and make better choices going forward. There are cases where men will sign over their parental rights but in such cases he may or may not still be financially obligated depending on the state. That being said; it’s not really worth the risk for men or women to choose to have sex with people that they would not want to be in such a predicament with. Birth control of all sorts can fail. People have had their tubes tied and had vasectomies and STILL have conceived. At the end of the day you’re still responsible. Even if you run, abandon the child, choose not to be around etc; that person you helped produce still has your DNA and is a part of you. Sex is not casual.

I found out on accident they didn’t voluntarily tell me. Imagine if I would of slept with these men 😫 (that was the only time I online dated--never again!) Would you want to be with a man who is pressuring you to have sex? What happens when you get married and have a baby or get sick and can’t have sex, would you really want the man who is trying to force you to in your most vulnerable state? Yeah, my mother did as well. It was gloom and doom if you had a child without a husband. No man would want you. You would struggle financially. My grades suffered because I was always worried about getting pregnant. He wanted to get married when I turned 18 but I wanted freedom. We continued to have sex until I was 18-19. We used that good old Catholic withdrawal method and condoms. I thank the universe that I never got pregnant. But I dumped him at 19 because I was just tired of the pressure to have sex. I finally worked long enough to save money to go to college. It took me years to finish going part time but I graduated. I worked two jobs, saved money, bought a car and a house. Paid off both and now I'm retired and childfree. I travel every three to six months (Jamaica, Paris, New York, Mexico, Vegas, San Francisco) and I'm finally getting to live the life that I always wanted to. Kids are a blessing but I just couldn't do it. I love children better than men but I didn't want to have a child without a husband.

In my opinion, whether you want kids or not, most of the time there is a chance of pregnancy even when on birth control. So actually both people should be accountable for the act of having sex. If a man or a woman doesn't want to have a child then they should decide whether the act of sex is worth the risk. This is what my youngest son father told me. God told me to have my now 26 year old son. He is the best son, father and husband and has saved so many lives. My ex flip-flopped on me when we were together he knew he was my first he knew I was in love with him and we will talk about children all the time he would bring it up randomly so when I got pregnant, I was sort of surprised, but more so that he went back on what he was saying before and and then to turn around and talk about all the plans he had for all three of us but at that point I couldn’t get over the hurt so I kind of made up my mind when I was like eight months pregnant that I was going to be a single parent like, I already knew this I got this. exactly...the child doesn't deserve to be denied physical and financial support because one or both parents were irresponsible. Men have sex with women KNOWING that if she gets pregnant actually HAVING a baby is ultimately up to her. No. A woman has 100% control of whether they keep the child or not and if you truly believe that the responsibility belongs to both, then logically they should have a 50/50 split on the descision as well. If they come to an impasse they do what they each wanted and move on. He can walk away and she can keep the child. If she cant financially provide for the child without him then shes obviously made a bad choice.
