I was privileged to see the band perform this song the first time I saw them in concert.

This song is about Justin Meacham, the band's second bassist. He was misdiagnosed and improperly medicated for his bipolar disorder. M. Shadows walked in on him trying to overdose on cough syrup and the band checked him into a mental health facility. He received brain damage from the situation, but he's alive today and playing in local bands. This song as an overarching whole is 2 parts in tribute to Pantera's Suicide Note, which had 2 parts. The first part is from Justin's perspective in committing, and the second part is from the perspective of his loved ones. In the story of the song, he was successful and passed away. It's very moving and impactful, obviously. I'm glad you appreciate it. The next part is going to be really jarring by comparison, but I think the dynamics will interest you. Keep up the great work, Yuliya. 🥰💙

Hey Chris, I know you love A7X a lot, sorry that I don’t like all their songs, maybe I’ll check out for myself other songs but my reactions to that band don’t make sense anymore, I know what to expect, and I don’t have natural wow effect anymore, also I generally will slowly stop to do reactions )
@chrismeadows42163 жыл бұрын
@@IYOU Totally understandable, but A Little Piece of Heaven and Fiction will change your mind to some degree, because they aren't something you'll expect based on what you've heard so far, and that comes with a very sincere guarantee. We've recommended songs to you originally based on your love for other bands like Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd specifically, which is why the songs that sound like them, but A7X really do have more to offer that don't usually get recommended without a different kind of prompting. If you had been reacting to different kinds of music before, you would've gotten different recommendations, but seeing that you're not a person that would like to hear similar songs to what you already love, it seems right to take you in a direction of really weird stuff now that doesn't have as much familiarity. Most reactors are hip-hop heads and r&b fans as you know, so they usually get the weird stuff first because hard rock doesn't already appeal to them more than anything else. That's where the other songs come in handy. The two I've mentioned here don't have solos or notable guitar. You'd be getting something entirely different, and I think that's something more appealing on an artistic level. You won't have skills thrown at you or virtuosity or anything intended to wow. You'd get artistic statements with purposeful delivery and less orthodox instrumentation. They're not songs intended to wow or impress, but to amuse and to create strong feelings, and they're very different from the shred songs. They were written by The Rev as he realized his health was declining and as his last song, and they're fulfilling in a way that people wouldn't throw at you with songs that sound like staple metal bands. Think of it like listening to Iron Maiden's Killers album for a long period of time but not being familiar with The Number of the Beast, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time, Brave New World, or The Book of Souls. There's more to the palette, and definitely out of left field, but we hadn't been able to show you that in 10 songs because we weren't sure it's what you wanted. People ask every channel for Exist and So Far Away because they're fan favorites, but songs like this are always put off. Recommendation has to come from observation, or we're just those commenters who solicit every channel for the same thing rather than trying to help another person explore different music. I personally don't feel there's much growth in repetition itself. You never have to worry about not liking songs. Plenty of reactors tell people they love everything, and it's not the kind of thing you're necessarily followed for, because insights come from all sorts of places. You have a different perspective from others, and that's healthy. Phasing reactions out is another healthy thing when they become overbearing and you'd rather move on to other things, and I think it's important that you do make a transition to the things that feel right and bring you joy. We should be able to support you in it and appreciate your happiness if we want you to thrive as a human being. There are a lot of songs, and some of them may bring a spark into your life, but what you do for yourself and especially for your family is most important. Not loving a song is natural. Caring for yourself and those you love is a priority. I hope you know that we respect you even if your passions are different. You're an incredible person, Yuliya. 🙂

@@chrismeadows4216 you got it Chris, I think I will even use your way of explanation to deliver my thought. It is difficult to explore all bands fully and explore all their songs to find your personal gem, Usually I record reactions for a few songs of each band and next to move to another suggestions, because it’s unfair to pay attention to only one band, or one person’s suggestions. And I felt that I upload really a lot of videos dedicated to A7X; and most of them I liked, and I made my decision based on my feelings- that i don’t enjoy the voice of this band (spoiler) you will watch it in part 2))) So, you told that that band has more to offer than just similarity with another legendary bands, and this is exactly what I want, I don’t like over saturation; don’t like when ppl recommend the same songs, but I don’t watch any reactions, I did a research a few times just to figure out why my videos blocked while others uploading the same music with no problems. So, I don’t know if the song which you guys recommend - popular on “reaction land”. I wanted to stop reactions almost 6 months ago, but my original content not so interesting for people, however I believe that have more to offer than sit on the chair.. also I have many videos which blocked and it’s wasting lots of time - and it’s affecting my mood. So, it’s just losing a healthy sense. I’ll listen this 2 songs right now for myself , because If it’s artistic and honest - this is what I’m looking for 💜💜💜 thank you Chris for your kind words ❣️

@@IYOU Blocking is a huge hassle, and I've seen a lot of reactors spiral into a deep unrest because of how much effort they put into the things no one will see. Their original content gets such a careless response compared to everything else, and I know as someone who makes their content for others that it's defeating in a huge way, no matter how hard we work at making it great. Your music and your vlogs are really good, and I think more attention should be paid to them, because they really are investing content, and hearing about your move was something that personally helped keep me in a great place through these hard times, among other outlets I could feel a sense of relatability in. A lot of reactors have problems with music videos and DVDs. Those are the biggest things that cripple channels, especially because viewers request them so heavily. They just can't be done on the platform without an extreme amount of editing, which is why people start Patreons, among supplementing their income, which I know you're not in favor of. Patreon isn't a great platform in terms of functionality, though. Messages are hard to see, searching for old content is difficult, and it's a huge mess. There are points where, understandably, any creator using copyrighted content is likely to have all of that extra pressure on them. That miniature heart attack when you see the claim notice. Life based around passion is something that people should really appreciate while they can. Going through unhappy cycles of doing things with a sense of obligation isn't something people will be happy with in the long term, I don't think. We're sharp people who recognize the potential we have to make personal advancements, and we should recognize the worth we can find in a joyful life where everything we do is something we love to. There are many choices in life, and I think the best are the ones that offer us freedom. Life isn't so rough when we have a place to collect ourselves, and I hope you find yours in time. You're welcome, Yuliya. 😊💙

@@IYOU Roman Sky - live from the Grammy Museum and God Hates Us - Rock am Ring 2011. Those will give you other perspective, hearing them live and more mature as a band than most songs with them you reacted to. Need to hear Matt live a few years after his throat surgery, after doctors said he would not be able to sing again. I believe in you, the reaction to the "Master of puppets" album was very goog, keep it up.

Yeah, someone walked on to their bassist (some say it was the vocalist, some say it was the lead guitarist) at the time he was about to end his own life, this song is basically the bassist's vision of what was happening, Part 2 was the vision of the band of what happened

I Won't See You Tonight Part 2 is the most logical next destination, and after that I'm sure you probably want some songs that sound less like other bands. I'd recommend the really odd songs like Strength of the World, A Little Piece of Heaven, Dear God, and Fiction. Most of the other metal bands wouldn't be caught dead performing them.

A7x is a band I really enjoy on some songs and not so much on others. I did generally enjoy seeing them in concert. M. Shadows can sound nasally at times when he sings, like he does in the first of this one, he doesn't really sound that way live though. I will never understand the blocking process, it's decided entirely by artificial intelligence but I see some people play entire songs with no block and others can play 30 seconds with a ton of commentary and get blocked. I don't remember the last time I've actually suggested a song or band for a reaction, as it doesn't matter to me whom you react to really, I'm here for your part of the video rather than the songs! That said, I'm curious about how much you know about David Bowie and his music. He lived his art, constantly changing his look and even his musical genre really. Even if you never react to him I hope you've checked him out at some point or will if you've not.

Definitely check out Yuliya's playlist for them if you'd like to go into the reactions blind. Otherwise, 3 records would definitely give you a good idea of what kind of band they are: City of Evil Avenged Sevenfold Nightmare Their first two records before these were metalcore, and the two most recent are more in line with classic rock and progressive rock. The center albums are a great mix of practically every style they could pull out of their repertoire in their prime. Really good and eclectic.

I'm using voice to text and I was commenting on your entrance, and it misspelled entrance as "in trance." That's even better, though, because this entrance leaves me in a trance. Very lovely, and very creative! My feelings about Avenged Sevenfold echo your own. Depending on the song, I either really like it, or I just don't feel it at all. To be fair, I can say that about some of my actual favorite bands. The Cure. Slowdive. Metallica. Pantera. Definitely Anthrax -- I have a few songs by them that I adore, but also many of their songs that I don't think are that great at all. There are probably seven or eight songs by Anthrax that I love and have listened to many times; and the rest of their discography, I never listen to it all. It's sort of a love/hate relationship. "Hate" may be too strong a word, actually. Sort of a love/"meh" relationship... 😋 I'm hearing this song for the first time myself. I'm liking the piano and the guitar intro. The vocals could be stronger. That's my thought as the vocals begin. I'm not saying I could do better personally, but I'm imagining a deeper voice, and I feel like that would fit the song better. I think that might be my biggest criticism of the band so far in general -- it just feels at times that the vocals could be stronger. Music is subjective, though, and I like some vocalists that others hate, so I acknowledge that this is just my subjective opinion. I like the vocals better as the first chorus hits. 5:09 I'm feeling the passion from the vocals more in this section of the song. Agreed -- interesting sound at the end of the song! I feel like this song has so much potential, and it almost hits that potential at times, especially with the instrumentation, but it just didn't "hit me in the feels" as much as I thought maybe it would. (Did I just use the phrase, "hit me in the feels?" I did, and I'm sorry, but it just seemed to fit as well as anything else I could think to say there.) 😜 I am curious about the second part to this song, though, so I'll look forward to your reaction to Part 2, and I will wait to listen to Part 2 until that time myself. I'm was also noticing that dress, have we seen this one before? I've watched most of your reaction videos, and I don't remember seeing that dress yet, or maybe I'm just noticing it more for the first time today, but either way, but I like it! A vision of loveliness, literally descending from the heavens, as I watch that intro again... 🧡

Ok, more time I am here. See what I do for y'all?😏 So yes, I agree with Iuliia that not all A7X is good. People get mad at me when I say I dig pretty much nothing after Jimmy passed, other than some stuff released after that Jimmy was involved in. Jimmy contributed more than people realize to the earlier music. Jimmy was indeed one of the greatest drummers in the world, but was a lot more than that. I like that Iuliaa is able to show off her fashion on these videos. We could use more just fashion videos, without reactions/reviews or, whatever the kids are calling 'em nowadays. Some full album reviews here and there would be cool though. I miss her other channel. Maybe on that channel I can get the red door in a video.😏

Your reactions to this band really confuse me. You've reacted to some of their newer stuff and liked it. But now that you've reacted to some of their older stuff, you didn't like it. The biggest thing that confuses me is that instead of finding out more about the band and their style progression, you're just deciding to stop after hearing a few songs from their 2nd album in 2003? It just doesn't make sense to me, I'm sorry to say. There are soooooo many amazing songs from this group that you're depriving yourself from listening to, but to each their own.

You know, I was afraid to make any conclusion from the very beginning, because it’s not objective, but even tho I aware that they are talented and skillful musicians, I still all the time FEEL that it’s LIKE Iron Maiden, LIKE Pantera, LIKE Megadeth etc.. like something what was created before them, Some of their epic songs with a very deep philosophical meaning seems more like - “hey guys let’s right a song about this and that because it’s gonna be cool” rather than “I feel this problem on the personal level”. Nothing is wrong with it generally; I’m not blaming them for writing a good song through this way of course, but I just saying that personal art touches me more. it’s like in life - how many ppl we all know who can endlessly talk talk talk like philosophers , with all this smart phrases and even smart thoughts, but NOT showing on actions any decent example. We all can talk in theory about theory… I vote for the actions, experience, examples). So if I wanna listen sound like Iron Maiden for example, why do I need to listen a7x if I can listen Original Iron Maiden. 💛💛💛
