@@6ixboss608 obviously because of the fued hyping up the song, plus I just said they had mainstream hits mostly brandy because she had her show, doll, and movie deals, but that alone doesn't mean you have the overall appeal. Aaliyah was part of an independent label so the promotion behind the song and the rules back then for the charts prevented are you that somebody from being higher on the charts.

Her choreographer Fatima created MOST of her dance moves. Her fashion stylist Derrek Lee was the visionary behind her signature clothing styles. Her hair stylist Eric and her other makeup artist Eric Ferrell created her signature makeup and hair looks. She had an amazing team of people who became her friends... she always acknowledged in her behind the scenes videos and interviews. Much respect to them as well.

I've heard you say in a couple of Aaliyah's video reactions that she made her own dances. But to my knowledge, Aaliyah credited Fatima Robinson as her longtime choreographer. She is actually in this video dancing on the left side. Fatima is a legendary choreographer in hip hop/R&B/Pop/Rock & everything that included dance movements especially in the 90s and 00s. Fatima was one of "Babygirl's" best friends and one of the last people to see her alive after the "Rock the Boat" video shoot.

Timbaland also produced Brandy's album "Afrodisiac" after Aaliyah's passing. His work with her is also phenomenal and he called her The Queen on one of their songs "Who Is She 2 U". They collaborated a lot since then. Justin Timberlake's R&B stuff with Timbaland have also been dope. But I do think the contrast of Timbaland's hard beats and Aaliyah's soft vocals are nice. In terms of duo, Missy & Timbaland are undefeated. They're the most genuine and creative tandem. They used to be in the studio making shit that they liked, not what was going on at the time, and it made a huge impact on the game. They didn't have as many hits but the Neptunes and Kelis were a great duo (trio if you want to be specific) as well.

Although I adore Aaliyah, and Timbaland. I believe the best combination would have to be Brandy, and Dark Child. Check out the “never say never” album. “Sitting on Top of the world” feat. Mase, and “Almost doesn’t count” both have videos. Two have completely different vibes. I could recommend more, but I think that’s a good place to start.

Its a baby lol because Aaliyah’s nickname was Baby Girl. Also she did this last part of the video (updated version of the Flamenco) because people always tried to (and failed, laughably so) to clown her for never dressing feminine. So she literally did this just to flip the bird in their faces and never did it again lol
