My weight has ballooned. Doctors keep telling me I will have to live with the pain. I decided a month ago that since pain and I are such good friends, why not take it to the next level. I figured if I can build up all the muscles around my neck, back and abdominal I can lessen or stop the pain. When I first saw one of your vids I couldn't walk very far or for too long without pain. Last week I decided to walk to my pain therapy session 3.1km away. I can tell you by the time I arrived I was soaked with sweat and in a lot of pain, but I did it! Today I walked there and back! He is honest and up front about he was building muscle for many years. This transformation was only to cut fat. A lot of youtube channels did not talk about how long will it take to build muscle from a beginner. I’m a beginner was infront of consoles for most of my life time. KZbinrs doesn’t tell me what I should be expect in 1-2 years, 3-5 years. Have the truth up front gives a correct mentality is important. A lot of them were fat athletes or they had been playing sport when they were young and the video look amazing, all of them were cutting down fat. Jessie inspired me and taught me it takes time to build basic muscle and start to question other youtube channels the truth behind it. no way you can build muscle like Jeff in 1-2 years. It takes much more then that.

Seems true. I've been sedentary all my youth, skinny and always tired. I have started working out two years ago and only now at 21 years old I've started growing my muscle a little bit. Haven't been regular tho because I got dishearthened by what people were saying on internet, that I should get muscle in 6 months and it made me believe I just don't have the genes or something so it was impossible. So if there are people like me out there, just keep working out guys, no matter what people may say on the internet or irl. It takes time to build muscle.

Well, a lot of people won’t even start if you tell them it will take them 5 years. So I think it is ok at the start to make people think it is easier. Then maybe 3 months in when they already built a routine, then you let them know it will take longer.

i have skinny bodytype dude, but you're indulging yourself. A constant 5 days a week training WILL get you results in 6 months, otherwise you're doing it wrong. Also you shouldn't shoot for jeff's body, it's mentalizing for failure. Cheers!

I completely agree. I think I'm a hardgainer as well. It has been 10 months since i started working out. At first, i started with jumping rope, then as my footwork improved, i included some shadow boxing and later on some bodyweight exercises. I didn't do a lot of weight lifting, because back then i thought it makes my jab speed slow, but I've made progress even though the process was slower that what others expect. I think making a routine is what's most important. So yes, it takes years to build those kind of muscles that you could put up for display in public, and building basic muscles comes first if one is a hardgainer like i am.

You guys have to stop thinking in 1930s terms. He looks the way a 54 y/o SHOULD look. It's getting sedentary and going along with what society tells you you should be that ages you. I know guys (and gals) in their 60s who look younger than him (I just saw a 65 y/o farmer's walking with 200lbs in each hand without breaking a sweat ,and he's Jeff's size). People are routinely living into their 90s and 100s now. Khan is in early middle age--literally. Jeff and Khan are great examples though. Just keep training and never listen to what "society" tells you that you should be at any age. They want you numb, dumb, dependent and helpless.
