The idea behind the quarter and semi finals is a challenge of stamina and consistency. You can dance as long as you want, while also trying to maintain a certain concept or story behind your movements. And when I'm talking about stamina, behind that i mean that like in summer dance forever, most dancers prefer to ease it out, focus on the flow of their movement and not lose all their momentum in high energy, like Rubix was doing. The ideal route is to go easy to save energy, before going all out in the final. Rubix's attitude reminded me alot of Rochka's at Sdf against Paradox. He was doing so much high octane stuff that he was pretty much gassed out when fighting Batalla. Larry was smart to go easy, while still telling a story and maintaining a consistent flow in his movements. So I get the decision

I agree with your take on this one. I feel like the judges giving it Larry may have been from him coming off relatively "clean" in his rounds. I feel like some judges view Rubix's style as sloppy because of how wild it gets at times and some of them might not be looking past that stigma to call the decision fairly. I have it at a tie.

I disagree that Larry is any sort of repetitive. Even when he does a "signature", he does it totally different each time. But ignoring that, his rounds maybe just has the same feel because he has his style and approaches kinda etched in stone, where Rubix changes his shit up every event and is way more refreshing that way. I also think he has a bigger vocabulary than them somehow (which is kinda crazy) To me, Rubix had a bigger chance of winning the first round, because that second round felt too clumsy. Larry has had better rounds than his second, but he did represent the tempo better to me (among other things) To me, Larry 2 - 0, or 1 - 1

The difference in this battle was rubix was grooving and connected to the music larry was just beatkilling and dishing out signatures if you compare this to larry 7 to smoke strife battle you’ll see him connected and grooving there. A freestyle is supposed to be about flowing with the music not just killing beats the entire round

I don’t know bro When I watched it from the stance camera angle I thought first round a tie and second round to Larry haha. When rubix did his move on the ground in the second round I think he was trying to hit the deep bass but it wasn’t there so it just seemed like a miss but yeah that’s just my take. This camera angle from fusion is disgusting btw

I say tie, but for me its the opposite. If this was early on, Rubix wins this with his performance, but at this point his diversity (or lack thereof) was holding him back in the 2nd round. The round was missing connection, and usually thats my criticism for larry. I think judges missed the whole dig at the twins with the 2011 juste debout reference though, easy tie.

I think reason why rubix will not beat larry is because of larry technicalities. Once rubix hype, there goes those big acrobat moves which sometimes come up sloppy. Like what larry said to him, feel the music and take it slow as you build up the momentum and flow. Anyway, it's close but like what I've said, Larry's technicality wins that time.

I'm just going to put this out there, if Larry put the amount of effort Rubix put in that battle it would have been a one sided massacre, Larry decided to go for efficient yet clean rounds, put the Larry you saw against Tight Eyes in this round and you got your answer. Also i would have loved to see BouBou in Fusion Concept, Imagine BouBou and Waydi against Les Twins, i'm still waiting for that day to come.

I dont think Larry has ever done what he did in that second round before, musicality was on another level he was creative, rubix too. But Larry used his brother as a weapon the move with his hat was creative and im not sure if everyone caught the music from the beginning when he throws his hat it was perfect with the beat even when the hat drops on the stage, and the fast connection between them like laurent was about to catch the hat just normal but he recognized what his brother was doing and reacted perfectly. And in the first round he did a lot but the crowd was just more hyped when rubix was dancing, Larry beated him technically fast and clean moves and sorry for my bad english

i know people stay asking you to react to the twins lmao but when you got time you should react to this older battle (if you haven’t seen already) with Larry and Regi kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3-ZXqV6hNOdrsU. both sides killed and I feel like Larry did really well in terms of showing variety and flow. i’m not super opposed to how he dances now but I wish he would incorporate more of the groove/flow he had in previous years and practice switching it up more. it’d be cool to hear you commentary on this battle

bruh strong agree. Don't really understand how there's a situation for Rubix to take an L, at the very _least_ it was a tie. Geez he didn't even use some of his crazier signatures that he had in his arsenal by this point, it feels like they killed the grizzly a little early. I feel like the judges gave larry a W for the second round solely for the whole basketball thing. Round 1: Larry/tie Round 2: Rubix/maybe a tie but i don't feel it that second round

honestly, I think larry won because the basketball move in the 2nd round..judges looked mindblown because of that one move. Rubix played with his levels and used concepts. While Larry did his same old foot work tricks and antics. Sets only get you so far. I am not afraid to call out dancers who use the SAME SETS. Judges need to start doing that. Rubix comes with something new EVERYTIME. That's how to me he wins. Also Twins have a harder time solo que against battlers.

When Rubix wins, the Twins win (in my opinion). Rubix is a beast and yes he won Rd. 2 (for sure) and the Twins are GOATS. Even when Larry is doing his signature moves I know it annoys everyone that they can't do it better. That's life!! What Les Twins give to the world can never be ignored.
