Its Painted! The Opel opc Astra Gsi Z20let in flame red has the engine bay under hood painted. Restoration has restarted!
Iong way to go yet but next job is to get it rolling with refurbished subframe.

@@AaronUnknownPerformance yes too right mate do it right first time round. Little tip not sure if you tried before the scuttle panel you said had faided to grey and you dressed up to get them back to black try using a heat gun on them it turns faded plastic back to as new 😉👍

It's about having an attention to detail, plus all that work making rest of the car perfect & mint then leaving the inner arches with tar all over?...like the little details with the new nuts & bolts too. All adds to the level of craftsmanship and quality of the build. The heat shield looks great in black, better than the bare aluminium finish I think.

Absolutely gleaming geezer 👌👌 wish you’d have mentioned about the fuel line clips previous 😂 i managed to pry mine back to remove the knackered split front metal sections , feed and return gave up over the bad weather and snapped off right at the ends evaporate pipe still to do but it can wait for now an from bay to floor now on mine

Car looks mint mate, iv had my Sri turbo 190 for 15 years now. just starting to get small probs like 'the turkey noise' and a it of a flat spot at 4000rpm but like u say these cars are getting rare now days so trying to look after it
