What amazes me is the presence of some fairly prominent names in the area. You'd think their families would be outraged.

Those owners may be telling the truth. They may have been scammed. Back in the 90s, I went to look at a Chevy conversion van at a house down the street. We went for a test drive to the mausoleum, when the guy mentioned he was either the owner or caretaker of the place...I forget. This guy was really shady though, and was trying to scam me on the van. It was filthy and full of dog feces. I swear, this is true. I grew up in, and still live in the area.

To bad the city can't take it over and make it part of the parks department . Pass a property tax bond to remake the mausoleum and demolish and remove the office. Then just maintain the grounds. Of course the owners would have to donate the property to the city. Thank you JP for the revisit.

Did some reading and I think a big part of the problem lies with the county and not so much with the owners. For starters it was in decline before they bought it. The previous owner was a pastor and his church took over the upkeep of the cemetery. Supposedly someone forged his name and took the funds set up for it's upkeep. After he died it was put up for sale at a tax sale. Taxing a cemetery and selling a cemetery at a tax sale is illegal in PA so it should not have been sold that way. The new owners did try to get the sale voided but lost that legal battle. The county did not want to put it up for sale again since it might not sell then they would be partly liable for the property and would become a legal trustee which they didn't want to do. Ten years later (2015) the property was put up for sale again in a tax sale in which $15,000+ in back taxes was owed by the owners. The property was pulled from the sale due to some kind of litigations going on. Maybe this litigation is still ongoing? There is a law in PA that states a county court can put a neglected cemetery under the care of a municipality and of course they say they don't have the funds for that. IMO the county should be responsible for this property and helping people get their loved ones moved since they are the ones that sold it illegally in the first place and refused to void that sale to keep from being responsible for it.

I agree with you 1000%. The county just cannot sit back year after year thinking that this issue will just go away. It needs to be addressed ASAP, for the sake of the families. The deceased certainly deserve much better than this.

That is really strange to see bottles of Coq10, it's an antioxidant that is good for the heart. And thoes are cases of cough medicine, which is used to make methods. So that is shocking to see that many cases, of cough medicine. That was a meth house absolutely shocking. Wow! $10,000 to move there loved ones. That very hard on thoes people.

They won’t do anything. My great grandparents are buried there. I tried to get the state to make the owners take care of it and I also tried to get the state to force them to sell it to me and they refused.

I've watched your four visits to this sad location and it just tears at the heartstrings to see that nothing's being done to correct this situation. The owner should be arrested and forced to remedy this situation for all involved. It sounds like they bought it online, from another country even, not knowing what they were buying. The smells and the mold are detrimental to anyone's health to be inside those buildings. Every one of those people in that mausoleum should be removed and the building bulldozed! If it were a house with that type of moldy condition, it would be bulldozed and destroyed. I look forward to further videos that you can produce with updates at that point in time, thank you for your help in recording the timeline and conditions that have continued to decline. May the families of these deceased individuals find solitude when this is finally taken care of.

It shouldn’t matter if the owners didn’t know what they were getting into, they should do the right thing and take care of it or pay to move these people to a new location. The country should step in because it’s the right thing to do. Same with the state. Something worse could happen like someone could get hurt just visiting their family members.

I own a vacation home near good Shepard. The condition of this place always leaves me speechless. Just heartbreaking. At least the vandalism seems to be kept at a minimum. Prayers to the families and people who are stuck in this mess.

Thanks J for the update. It is so heartbreaking to see what is happening to this place and to see the selfishness of the property owner. I have watched your videos in the past on this place and I must say it still rips my heart out.. it not right.. it isn't right at all.. if the property owner doesn't want it then it should be sold to someone who has some respect. If its the courts holding up the sale then shame on them. The owner has a right to sale it and if they had any sense they would have done so right after buying it blind. If they didn't know it was a cemetery that's their fault for not going to see it before hand. They could have resold it to someone else after they bought it. What I see is people who probably bought the property during auction for the back taxes. When they saw what they bought instead of being an adult and admitting they made a mistake they probably have been trying to sue whomever sold it at auction. I would never go buy anything auction without seeing first what I am buying. So sad this is happening.

Current owners need to sue original owners if it wasn't disclosed to be a cemetery when they bought it. Current owners either knew or didn't do enough research into the property before they bought it, probably sight unseen as an "investment". Families should sue the current owners. There have to be laws that address upkeep of a cemetery. Can't understand how this can keeps getting kicked down the road.

I do know the original owner is deceased and that it went up for tax sale. Current owners claim they weren't clearly explained what they were buying, but we don't know what info was disclosed to them. Everyone is pointing fingers and it's a long, stressful ongoing issue for everyone involved.

This is just a total disgrace...So sad that the state or township would allow a burial place (that these people had to pay for) to be in such a deplorable condition. I work in funeral service and this is just totally heartbreaking. The mold will eventually take over the place and it won't be or already isn't a safe place to visit and pay respects. No disrespect intended but this is a good sad example of ppl trying their best to stop the natural cycle. We come from the earth and to her, we return. How sad that this place; that was meant to preserve those who had passed away for their surviving family members, has been left to fall into such a state of ruin 😢 it must have been a nice place to lay loved ones to rest in years past. 😢 I will say this may have turned into a meth making operation after being deserted by the previous owners. The multiple packages of nighttime cold meds could be evidence of exactly that. I'm sad for the family members who entrusted their deceased loved ones to this place only to have them and this place left behind and abandoned 💔😔 with no one to look after them 💔😔😢

This is a sad video, here in the county I'm in named Huron County state of Michigan; we had quite a few cemeteries moved. The people that had their cemeteries moved the State of Michigan paid for the cost. Myself I think their should be a petition that should be signed and the owner that own's the Mausoleum sell it to the state.
