This old home had so much character and so many things inside. The place felt like I was walking into a time capsule that has been sitting vacant up for a long time. Renters come and go with these older homes and farmers costs become to great to maintain for cheap rent so they sit. I love these sort of ones. Enjoy.

Really enjoyed it. If you look past all the mess and look at the bones you can see it was a very beautiful house at one time. Loved the fireplaces and that long hallway. Plenty of room for the children to roam. Inside and out.

Hey Kathleen thanks for watching :-) Yep this seems to be common as these types of country farm houses were once the original homes of a property that has either been sold and had a larger newer homestead built so these ones were rented for a period of time and when the repairs or maintenance became to much the tenants move out and the farmers leave them to rot or use them as storage sheds. Quite intriguing actually.

I hope you took the Macarno set and truck because it's a shame to have them lost plus that album next to the teddybear I would have taken and given to a historical society. I left everything as it was mate, I do really hate seeing those things rotting away but I would hate to be caught trying to do a good deed and accused of doing bad deeds. There are so many of these places in country Vic that are on farmers land that were used at some point for rentals. A lot of the time they seem to be the original homes of the property owners but new ones get built for the children close by and these ones have Ma and Pa live in them til their dying days then the house gets closed up left to rot. I really want to start doing a legitimate salvage of cool stuff for history with the owners cooperation. I did one on Thursday with the owners permission, stuff from 1947 still in there.
@mkuebler5
@mkuebler5 6 жыл бұрын
That would be great. I was going to say go find the owner and ask what they are doing with the stuff and if you can take it. I want to find who owns the old place where the door opened by itself and ask if I can take the things from it before it gets knocked down too.

Urbex Indigo That would be awesome..good luck with it & I hope you get to do a lot of them. I'm selling my place & I'm trying to give away the things my sons don't want, even my outside plants that come back every year. I've already told a young couple that lives closeto me to come down & we'll dig up all they want. I'm afraid someone will buy my place & not love my plants I've gotten & planted overthe years. It started out as a lake cabin,on 2 water front lots, it's old & I'm sure someone will just tear it down & build a new house. So I want all my plants to have a good home..lol

They must have had a large family as I counted twelve dining chairs and the wood stove in the kitchen was for heat.Only the living room and kitchen were heated. Houses I lived in as a child were the same.You could buy a adapter for the light socket that screwed in and you could plug extension cords in to run the radio or T.V. At least they had a indoor bathroom which is one thing we didn't have until I was ten yr old.

Well of course the door is stuck. There is a body inside of the thing. You know, it is the body of the artist that flunked painting the door mural on the fridge. Holy jumping...you must look a fright after some of these places! The bones of this place were lovely. Lots of kitchen storage. The painting on the fridge was...odd. Wish you would have shown a bit more. Those houses with long hallways where one can see from front door to back are called "shotgun" houses in the US. 'Cause you can shoot the shotgun from front to back and not hit a door. Seems to have been a popular style down there in the more rural areas. That photo of the man is wicked. That Buddy L Army truck is worth quite a bit of dosh.

I drive past so many old farm houses like this one. I always wonder what’s inside. I’d love to have time, to stop and go in for a look. Do you have a UV or black light torch? I bought a good Chinese one from eBay. It’s great for spotting mineral glass, milk glass and uranium glass items, eg; lamps and light shades, glassware, plates, vases, etc. Very handy if you’re doing salvage jobs. I collect it; worth more (to me) if it has a story. 💚 I love that you pulled the lid back in place on the old electric organ; respect! 💛 I totally get why you left the little truck and the Meccano set behind, but that would have been really tough for me to do; but I get it.👍🏼

I know here in the US I've personally known people who fight for years in probate court after someone dies. While that's happening the homes literally rot. No one can touch it. It's very sad. When my mom died the things I wanted most were the least 'valuable' to most people but they were part my most cherished memories. I've made it clear that I would haunt my kids if that happens after I'm gone.

My paternal side of the family let 3 family homes go in great disrepair before I was even thought of. My dad use to take me in them to explore and I'd itch to no end, cough, sneeze. Parents never thought of masks because they weren't widely available in the 80s and 90s. Wish I had had a camera then and thought about recording them. That is one reason I enjoy your channel. At--7:48-- The TEDDY BEAR !! OMG...Ah....poor thing,,, looks to me like it may have been a STIFE (sp?) Bear. Super old, would have been super collectable at one time. I used to collect bears & have a bear by Charleen Kinser Desgins. If you find a stuffed toy by her it is very collectable!!

I love watching your videos at night. Oh and by the way love your accent 😜😜😜😜😜...oh my God at “4:16” you hear a male voice saying “I love being alone”. But before that at “4:12” you hear the same voice say “go away: or it says “in the hallway”. At about “8:24” in a very low whisper you hear “get out”. But at “9:22” a voice says back to you “1980”😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

A smashing find ! .....The kitchen was an interesting display of evolving technology's----- the coal/wood cook stove on one end and the electric/gas range on the other. That second stove I had to look at several times to make sure of what I was seeing.. but there are two electric coil 'burners' on the right, and I am sure that is a gas broiler-type assemble on the left--- I haven't seen one of those stove outside of the UK in years !... and very rare today, at that. That toy truck really caught my eye... That is a "Buddy L" toy- known for bring made of sturdy sheet steel- a boy's toy made to be practically indestructible. I think it is quite old- Buddy L trucks made of metal date to before WW2- during that war metal was unavailable, and afterwards the company switch'd to plastics. It's American made, and when it was new it was quite expensive-- I fell in love with it,-- and to be truthful I would have been very hard press'd not to have 'rescued' it it had it been me making the discovery. It could possibly be worth something too. And speaking of discoveries, that rose-pink satin dress hanging solitary in that closet- it looked as if it was hung there yesterday...what tales that could tell ! ...... Eerie ! As you walked thru the house I was struck by the absence of electric AC power outlets. The house obviously had electric power, but it seem'd to be only in the overhead lights and a few wall switches. Maybe I just didn't see the power sockets- but it made me think that the house originally was not wired--- that electric power was add'd later on. I have seen many such old houses where the wiring is run along the rafters, and dropped thru the ceilings...maybe a switch's wire is dropped down a hollow wall, or more often, simply open wired down the outside of that wall, -----but usually the light bulb's socket had a built in switch. Power for appliances came from this light fixture, down some sort of extension cord. Did the owners die and the family took only what they wanted ?....If only the wall could speak ! Thanks for posting this video..... :)

Hey ana ixtar! :-) Yes I really enjoyed this one too! The house was actually larger than it seemed from outside and I was not expecting so many cool things so it was a cool surprise. Although the ceiling had fallen in in a lot of rooms it was still a nice time capsule of how it was probably left by those who live in there last. Things had been moved about but it was an eerie feeling to find those toys and dress as you know someone at some point really cherished them and had fond memories from using them. Those greens and purples feature quite often in the houses I explore also, I really like them. I get the feeling that this was once the original homestead of a large property and when ma and pa passed away it was left to just sit there. Thanks so much for your input and watching. Cheers :-)

I am fascinated by urbex and watch many of the people who have channels on YT but yours is one of the very best I've seen. I've seen a lot of abandoned houses videos. I don't know why but this is one of my favorites. Maybe it's because the house was nice once upon a time. Or maybe it's because you went slowly over everything and I got to see so much.
