Imagine being in a hammock or an Adirondack chair by a fire pit, looking up at those trees and the sky, outside a warm cozy cottage, just listening to the wind.

This channel is a nice reprieve from the daily insanity of the world. Very peaceful walk in the woods. 😊

A tin roof would be great. Laying back listening to the rain. I could handle that. It’s a beautiful ruin, loved seeing it. Thanks for taking me along.. please take care

Great video cliff. I love exploring old abandoned ruins, and I really want to see the jet bunkers and gate 251 in that area as well and see what other history is up in the area

I'll certainly help you fix it up, put a roof on it lay down the floor, add a fireplace and a screened porch that would have a wood burning stove to heat it during the cold months. 😊 It looks serene, peaceful and quiet.

You have to leave the tree with the red leaves in the middle... build some sort of opening in the roof so the rain can come down through and drains out... Now THAT would be awesome.

There is also "The StoneCamp" not to far from there which is built under a bolder. You can drive to it and park on the roof. "

As many times as I've been up there I never knew that was there. Wonder what they used for a floor. I'd love to see pictures of what it look like back in the day. I will gladly help you clean it out and live there. Be safe as always❤❤❤❤❤

Maybe the downspout was used to collect rain water in that cistern. That's my guess.

Cliff, I tried to find some old pictures of the camp, but all I saw was an article about the land taken over. Do I get the feeling you could be a hermit? Cheers, Rik Spector

I live on the Olympic Peninsula and when I was younger, I lived on the Quinault River. I was out hiking up a smaller creek, following a game trail along the edge. There was a little peninsula spot and the trail split, part continuing along the creek, the other part going up the bank to the top of this outcropping. Without thinking about it I ran up to the top, into the copse of alders there. Well, it was midday and there was a herd of elk in there laying up, chewing their cud and just taking it easy, until this silly human came running up into their midst. They all jumped up and took off! First thing I knew, all these huge animals are jumping up and taking off all around me! I had scared them, so they were all letting off scent. It was one of the most exciting things that has happened to me! I was so lucky that none of them ran over me. I had a friend who got ran over by a deer when he was hiking, that was hilarious, he had hoof prints on his back! It compared to when I was hiking in Enchanted Valley and had the bear in camp all night. and the same friend who was ran over by the deer, decided to fight the bear for the pack of food it had gotten down from the tree, where we put it so it couldn't get it. But those are different stories.

Trees look better. Stonework was done well, looks better now. The pines, on the way out, look healthy..It.s too bad there weren't any out of service trucks.

I think the area was taken by imminent domain by the US government in the 50s. The area was also a target of the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
