@@harleyguyinmilw Sorry to say but they mentioned in a live stream that the car has already been sold. They are working through the footage and making episodes of it. the 1970 is the best looking one in my opinion. 70 was the best year for a lot of cars in terms of the look of it, in my opinion.

Personally, I liked the Roadrunner better. Had less chrome You guys are making me quite ill! I had a '70 Roadrunner, the sedan body. Not the hardtop style this is. But, mine had a 440, and an A833. Yes, the Pistol Grip, too. That year, you could slide 2, .020 feeler gauge leaves, one on either side of the upper shifter, and the whole pistol grip handle would slide right out. Then you replace the 2 foot long handle, with an 8 inch Comp Plus handle. 1 to 2, was 4 inches. 1 to 3 was 1.5 inches. I did a burnout, and the 1-2 shift, where there was no rubber, you could cover, with a standard 8.5X11 piece of paper. With the Pistol Grip, couldn't cover it with a yardstick. I spent a whole $800 on that car. I'm sure it is worth 100 times that much now. steve

Use shell rotella 15w40, 1100ppm phosphorus and 1200ppm zinc. Iv run it in my 1970 f100 since 2005. 408,000 miles and counting on the original 360FE.

just run the diesel oils. they have plenty of zinc in them. I like to run shell rotella 10w30 diesel oil. It has all the zinc and it has all the diesel detergents so my engine stays nice and clean.

It is nice when an engine starts right up like that. My 66 mustang was like that and my 63 ranch wagon is like that, 302 and 260 V8 respectively. I’m getting motivated to get back to work on that wagon. Wish the 390 in my 65 Galaxie wasn’t seized.

For future reference, you can still buy oil with zinc, it's called 15w40 diesel oil, works great in old cars.

Add zinc....use motorcycle oil or Valvoline VR-1 racing oil. I use the VR-1 in old motorcycles because I don’t want synthetic oil in it since some clutches don’t like it. VR-1 haves lots of zinc in it. Oil for motorcycles haves lots of zinc since air cooled motors need it more then water cooled. Yes, even lawn mowers

a good way to release stuck break drums is to apply some heat and then you might hear a cracking sound witch means they should be able to be taken off. try that anyways good videos from the UK glad you got the engine running.

I'd like to know if anyone has a real life story of a stock cam with stock valve springs failing from low zinc in the oil. Tons of modern overhead cam engines have valve "buckets" that are basically the same as a flat tappet and they run flawlessly with modern oils.

@@ThunderHead289 No. I've never worked on a VW. I have been into plenty of DOHC engines such as Toyotas with the cam running right against the buckets like any flat tappet application. They routinely do 300,000 miles with the modern watered down 0W-20 oil. I have also seen cams fail. But it's typically with some crazy lift and the valve springs turned up to 11.

Watch Wes Work Watch Wes Work Iv never played with over head cam stuff myself, so I can’t speak to the valve spring pressures, but I do know that pushrod engines take a lot more pressure to control since there is so much weight associated with that style of valvetrain. Without looking into anything, I would venture to say they are heavier than overhead cams. BUT also, zinc is not a cumulative is better scenario. Even oils with 500 ppm will support anything, just higher pressure scenarios will consume that ppm quicker. Change oil every 3k and even flat tappets live forever. I run retella with the Lucas stabilizer just to keep a coating on the valvetrain and Iv never had issues in the stock world

I don't work on cars like this Satelite, but in old tractors with flat tappet cams I've never heard of spontaneous cam failure and you can bet your lunch that farmers are buying the cheapest oil ever made.

A trick I have used to un stick clutches, put the car on all fours, un plug coil wire, press in the clutch and crank it in gear. usually this works good

I built a mate a 351 clevo it had twin plate clutch set up sat for about 3 years put it in another car the one he put it in rotted away in Cairns and the clutch was stuck started it in gear got it up to 100 and just pressed the clutch pedal and it was good to go 😊

The FUN way to break a clutch free: Drop the car off the blocks, put a floor jack under the pumpkin to lift the back wheels off the ground, put the trans in second, start the engine, press in the clutch, rev the engine and release the floor jack to drop the back wheels onto the ground!

Shell rotella T4 has 1200 zinc and 1100 phosphorus.. the API standard has changed in the past few years if it has SN stay away I always use diesel oil for my flat tappet vehicles... With a API of CK4 which use to be CJ4
