it takes a big ass cave to hide horses - they more than likely had previously made deals with people so they could change out their horses - most likely once they were finished with a horse , the horse was finished too - so they would board horses at various places and swap them out - when it was possible to do

If you are in Kansas, Quantrill would not have a hide out there. They went into Kansas, did what they had to and went back to Missouri. Search the Sni-a Bar river bottoms and those areas for Quantrills hide outs.
@Highplainsprospectors9 жыл бұрын
Dean Carder LOL, that's funny. These guys went deep into Kansas. Way to deep on occasions to make it in one day. So, unless you assume they rode hard and fast for days on end with no rest, it would be ridiculous to think they did not house up somewhere occasionally. And, do you think I would be following a lead without any type of evidence?
@deancarder3779 жыл бұрын
High Plains Prospectors- Metal Detector & Gold Prospecting Supply My great x3 uncle( John McCorkle) rode with Quantrill and wrote a book about their exploits(Three Years With Quantrill) and had never said or wrote about camping or staying in Kansas but told about riding as hard as they could to get back to Missouri. After most actions they broke up and hid in the brush along the Sni and other small rivers in the KC and Independence and Clay, Jackson, Cass counties.

Other's have wrote differently. I think it is silly to think they NEVER stayed in KS.

Morgan looks to be in almost uncirculated condition for being in the ground so long. That's about $110 USD value.

TekReview's I know, it is in very good condition. Looks like it was dropped shortly after being minted. I am not good at grading coins...all I know is it wasn't the really valuable one! It'll never be sold though...it is my first and only at this point. Nothing can take away the feeling of pulling it out of the ground!
@cuddles69389 жыл бұрын
High Plains Prospectors- Metal Detector & Gold Prospecting Supply Yeah, I checked another site that sells them :) And they had a page showing how one would look in terrible condition to extremely mint condition. I found a German Penny from WW2 dated 1942 someone made into a necklace but after moving to the USA our shipping container was missing a lot of items, the shippers were known for stealing your valuables.

Reminds you of being back in "Nam" climbing in foxholes??? (15:37) The Vietnam conflict came to a conclusion 46 years ago...adding another 17 years for the minimum age for active duty, How old are you? You certainly don't look to be any 63 years old. I'm not hating on you... as a Vietnam era vet I'm just a bit sensitive towards Veteran posers.
@shaneholmes90585 жыл бұрын
Veteran Poser? Get over it. He was being silly.
@StillSalty-r5p5 жыл бұрын
I love real veterans as much as anyone, but frankly no ACTUAL combat veteran would take issue with something like this. Shooting and being shot at tend to make one more concerned about gravitas and issues of seriousness, not wandering around on the internet whining about a stray joke (if you can even call it that - more like a comment that it was like being in a fox hole). Our culture has forgotten what the word 'veteran' means. Throughout all of history, until recent times, veteran meant someone who had actually spilled blood.... a lot. A FIGHTER of experience. Our culture has started treating office workers who had uniforms and served one tour bc they couldn't think of anything better to do after highscool as if they were warriors who took life in hand every day - they are not. Not differentiating between the two bastardizes the people who make the hardcore sacrifices and makes it seem like they are equal. THEY ARE NOT. Look up the sort of sacrifices revolutionary soldiers from TOP TO BOTTOM with very little exception made. Or the insanity that was Alexander the Great or Napoleons campaigns. This sort of sanctimonious whining sounds more like what someone who was 'in the army' but did virtually nothing. (if in it at all).

On the NW corner of 3rd. and Garrison in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, is a store building that used to be a bar back in the 1800's. I had a store there in 1981 and was told that Belle Star and Jesse James used to hang out there. I also was told that in the basement there were illegal card games and that 52 people were alleged to have been killed there for cheating. I had really weird feelings when in that basement; and I mean really weird feelings. That shop is within a couple of blocks from the famous Judge Parker's Courthouse (The Hanging Judge that hung dozens daily. Jaywalking, spitting on the ground, cussing, etc. would get you hung.
