As a person from Europe I think it's hilarious how celebrities are drinking bone broth as a drink whereas we have broth every Sunday for lunch/dinner. Just eat it as a soup - with some noodles, chicken and lots of vegetables - for sure more enjoyable way than having it in a cup.
@janejustin1788
@janejustin1788 2 жыл бұрын
i think people from different countries/cultures consume it differently. We also consume it traditionally as a drink in Kenya. Even when you buy from street hotels/vendors here, it's sold as a beverage, in a cup just like tea. Some people drink it along with bread or 'ugali' but the normal way here is to drink it as a beverage.

In the UK there's a traditional drink called "bovril" that is basically beef tea. It used to be so popular that you could buy it in cafes etc but it's waaay less popular these days. It's used more as a stock nowadays and it also comes as a spread which people put on toast :)

So I recently learned a trick to get the pomegranate fruit out of the skin. Before cutting, roll it around the counter a bit (you'll be able to feel the lil pods loosening inside the skin). Then cut it in half, put it over a bowl or paper towel, and use the back of a spoon to whack the fruit. The little fruit pieces will pop out into the bowl. Way less mess, and you get some stress relief on the way! LOL

Hey Abby, It would be great if you did a series on FODMAPs like a general overview then a video dedicated to each category with what results in the intolerance, foods that typically contain them, and some ideas for how to work with them. I recently had to do the FODMAP elimination diet and discovered that I indeed have an Oligosaccharide intolerance, (and that I am also specifically allergic to grapes: bummer, but not wine: yea!) but it is so hard to find reputable information that’s concise and easy to understand and the whole process was so overwhelming and I felt so alone even though I had family members doing it with me in solidarity.

The lump along the shell is 100 % normal and anyone who purchases from farmer markets need not be alarmed. Deformities and unique shapes or even double shells are expected now and again and do not harm the yolk or white unless there is a crack somewhere. Do a float test if you are ever uncertain.

@giuseppeferrara952
@giuseppeferrara952 2 жыл бұрын
Firstly, 3000 calories sounds like a lot for a female. She might just be eating this much for one day. Or, she doesn't actually eat everything she shows on camera; in fact, if you watch again, you only see her taking a few bites of each meal. Or, she must be doing a lot of cardio or something (though, least likely).
@AbiGodinha
@AbiGodinha 2 жыл бұрын
My best estimates are 2300 to 2800 for a day of eating like this. It’s like what I ate when I was at the peak of my marathon training. It is not a reasonable diet for an average woman engaged in an average amount of activity.

What you are saying is the truth. Hippocrates (the father of medicine in the western world) shares that all disease begins in the gut. So overeating for an outcome - based decision (future thinking) is literally burdening your organs because of mental state/thinking. It's insanely dysfunctional, which is considered the norm now. And if you speak otherwise, you will *danger* OFFEND someone. And we can't have that. Because...if they're offended, what if you're offended? Then you are offended by their state of offensiveness. Then they can be offended by your offensiveness. See how functional this is? What we're told to walk on ice for. Wake up everyone. Things are changing. And not for the downfall of humanity, even though it's painfully "trendy" to have a machine open your car or blinds for you. Cause, it's too much Effort to use your brain that operate fine motor dexterity. seriously. Fucking insane.

I don't see what's wrong with the apple at bedtime thing. It's a late night snack, meaning she doesn't need the energy to go throughout her day, just to satiate her. Eating that microwave Apple before bed every night would surely lead to weight gain. She ate healthy throughout the day so I feel that that was a bit unfair to act like she needed to reevaluate her relationship with food. She's eating a healthy late-night snack rather than junk food. 🤷🏻‍♀️

How many calories on average do you personally eat daily? I’ve been doing a reverse diet for the last few months and I’m just about 1800-1900 calories a day. I’m 5’6” and 125lbs. I’m extremely active and work out about 6 days a week. I’m burning about 2300-2500 calories a day. How much more should I try and push my calories up?

Yea mindlessly shoveling a container of Pepperidge farm goldfish in my mouth as if it were water would be too much of a sodium and calorie overload for me and this looks like a pre snack snack for you . Good rice and bacon tip to keep in mind though !

She had business start money from her wealthy dad if she didn't have a wealthy and connected father she would have ended up having to take more time to start her business or never been able to start. She is mega privileged due to her father.

What’s your honest opinion on goldfish?? I’ve had other moms tell me to stop feeding them to my kid..but are the ingredients really that bad?

The Ingredients are not bad, pretty similar to a basic bread with extra spices/seasonings. I like them for my kids because they are one of the few no sugar added crackers/snacks I can find. I mostly get the partially whole grain variety, which bumps up the fiber slightly. But similarly to what abbey says about white vs brown rice, the extra gram or 2 of fiber probably doesn't make much of a difference. I generally try to serve them with other things like she does to make it a slightly more filling snack, unless we need just a quick munch in the car to get us to dinner time.

When I was deep into diet culture I used to drink green juice with unflavored protein powder for breakfast. I really don’t know how I did it! 🤢 I tried the expensive diet tea I used to drink recently just to see and it tasted so gross.

Hey Abbey! I have a rice question for you. Does white rice have the same amino amino acid profile as brown rice? Like can you still pair it with beans to make a complete protein?

Hi Abbey I've been waiting for so long for you to comment on the Kardashians and their relationship to food!! I find so many of their comments problematic but then again...they were born and raised in the diet culture so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Love your content, keep it up ❤️
