Terry has done such an amazing job raising him. He’s so well spoken, so confident and so aware of he is. Yes he reminds us of his father, but there’s so much of Terry in his personality. I’ve enjoyed watching him grow into such an amazing young man and I can’t wait to see the impact he had going forward.

You're absolutely right! I'm 40 now and stop watching the show after Steve passed. I would occasionally watch a episode over the years. Just to see how the children were growing. He is very mature and wise beyond his age. I'd even say he has a better grasp and outlook on life than I do. I'm sure he's going to be a great father and husband one day.

This was a very good video on Robert Irwin. So much is made of him being the son of Steve Irwin, but this video shows that he is definitely Terry's son. She raised him, she gave him a role model to look up to, she gave him videos and stories of a father he barely knew to connect to him. Good parents want their children to be better people than they are, and I think Terry deserves a big round of applause for raising her son and daughter to be good people. For TV purposes Steve Irwin came off as a stereo typical male, no doubt there was way more to him than that as he managed to sneak little bits of conservation knowledge into his shows. Terry has used that and more to create a product that pushes conservation and has allowed her children to feel connected to some of the best parts of a father who died way too young. I think Terry is incredible.

It's been difficult for me to accept Robert as an individual, and not a Steve clone. This interview has touched me. I'm many years older than Robert, but we share similar passions, and his father was also one of the people who taught me to respect and appreciate crocs and other wild animals. He's a good lad. And his photography is brilliant.

Me too! It's crazy to me how eerily similar their vocal tone is aswell! I don't mean the Aussie accent, I mean the actual tone. The way he speaks and carries himself, it's incredible. Kids always resemble their parents, or relatives, but it's not too often that your kid is a spitting image of yourself like Robert is to Steve! I also admire that with what happened to their dad, it didn't stop either Robert or Bindi from shying away from animals. Brave, eloquent, well rounded family all together!

What a lovely young man he is - he speaks like a 25 yr old - and he’s just 18! A very mature, wise young man, who has learnt a lot from his mum and the people around him growing up who were good mates with his Dad. I’m sure Steve would be so very proud of him! But I can’t help but wonder how he would be if his father were still alive. He was so young when his Dad died that he wouldn’t be able to remember the times he’d spent with him, only from watching it back on video. Him and Bindi are so blessed to have all that footage and documentaries to look back on of their Dad, as most children who’ve lost their fathers would not have that. I really hope and pray he meets a beautiful young woman who loves & respects wildlife and crocs, just as much as he does. 😊

I love this interview. I loved watching their family!!!! I appreciate everything their family has given, and given and given after all these years. It's a duty and a hardship career to keep going but I see their true love they have from their dad to continue his legacy. I see his eyes and I see his soul how strong he is to keep the face for the world. He is very professional and I believe he has had some challenges in his life as an adult. He's very humble and caring I respect him for him. I don't expect them to be exactly like their dad but I would love to see more of their personality and see them do what they love.

I appreciate Robert for the person he is. Even if he wasn't following his Father's legacy, he stands alone just brilliantly. His energy may be like his Father's sure, but Robert is his own person. He has fun, but he is real. Even makes it clear he is a professional and he really is. At 18 I wasn't anything like Robert. I am in the tech and electronics world, so my Croc could run 220 at 30amps if not even more. Risk is part of the lure of what anyone doing something worthwhile. I think Robert and I would be opposites. My upbringing likely. But imagine growing up as an Irwin. Wow. The responsibility and legacy here. Robert carries it so well. Why? Love. Easy answer for the most complex person whose life has had such a wide dynamic range. I salute Robert Irwin. He is less than 1/3 my age, but I have not grown up, get older yes, grown up? Never. Robert is the best of what a person can be. Never met him personally, but man, would be an honor just to speak with him for say 30 minutes, then let him do what he does best.

I just watched this video (from a year ago). As others have said, listening to Robert, he is such a well-spoken, intelligent, and confident young man. And I really respect his passion for wildlife. It's tragic that he lost his dad at such a very young age (2 years old I think). Unlike his older sister Bindi, I don't imagine Robert would have any actual memories of his father. But, it's obvious, he truly is his father's son. The only thing I don't understand is feeding the crocs!? Obviously, Robert has had a lot of training do this. But one small mishap (even for someone with lots of training) and it could be fatal! Just not worth it as part of any kind of show for visitors to the zoo as it's too dangerous (even for an experienced individual)! But he is wise beyond his years, for sure! And I wish Robert and the rest of the Irwin family much success and happiness in the years ahead!

The Next Crocodile Hunter.. You see him in such a rush & push at such a young age, like he knows something we don't, that's scary. Steve was the same way, he had to make sure we understood because he knew he wasn't going to be here for long. Robert is so much like his dad, the fire and passion. But his mom's kind and gentle shy loving way. I still remember the day I heard about Steve dying, I was in the hospital just had surgery I was so out of it and I thought surely I didn't just read that right at the bottom of the screen. No way Steve is dead, nothing could kill him. When I made myself sit up and actually read what I was seeing all I could do was cry. I've never really cried over some famous person passing.. But Steve... It was like he was our crazy sweet Uncle or something we all loved him. Him & his family was like a part of all of our family... For Terry to stay true, keep his legacy alive through his kids his brand his zoo his animals his babies . Even still keeping Wes & them close that had to be so hard for her, trying to grieve but every single day you can't escape it. But boy did she find a way and I know Steve has got to be so freaking proud of his wife.. Just like she did with Steve she stands to the side and let's his passion through his kids keep living on. We all say Steve was the MPV but none of this would still be here had it not been for her to not let this die with him.
