Remember everyone, this movie doesn’t owe us any cameos. People got wayyy too hyped for potential cameos for Doctor Strange 2 and said to rewatch movies like Ghostrider and Deadpool. That ended horribly. Keep your expectations in check. Still a good video, I just want everyone to be realistic.

Personally I watched all the X-men movies and WandaVision again and was very thoroughly satisfied to the point where it was my favourite MCU film until the Marvels knocked it down a peg. I think Deadpool is gonna do that again for me, I watched the X-men movies again but included Logan too

That’s what I’m worried about. That if this movie doesn’t have all the cameos people want/expect, they will say it’s boring, and it won’t do so well at the box office. And in terms of business and finances, I don’t know if Disney/Marvel can afford (literally) for it not to do well. Especially since the next movie won’t be out until February 2025; I’m not sure how much money D+ shows bring in.

Ive always considered Deadpool to be in his own meta timeline where’s it’s just the release order. It sounds weird! But the way he references our world and films released before, but not after the releases plants them where they’re released. Like he’s watching everything unfold as we do.

As someone who hasn't seen the majority of the content you mentioned, I don't have much to say as far as opinion on your watch order. But coming from that perspective, I think something that could be helpful for someone like me, not having the time to watch ALL the movies and shows on this list, would be a "priority" or "tier" watch order. So the viewer who wants to catch up can decide how many movies they have time to watch, and, for example, if someone only has time to watch 10 movies, they watch only the ones in Tier 1, and if they have time for 20 movies, they watch Tiers 1 & 2, etc. Of course, such a tier organization would have to change as we learn more about these upcoming movies (especially Secret Wars, since it's still so far out), but an evolving list would still be useful. (Who would've imagined Thor: The Dark World would be important for Endgame?) Either way, I realize it would be really tricky, and just thinking about it, I know it would be hard for me to even put together a tier list for someone wanting to catch up on just MCU Phases 1-3 like I did five years ago, as almost all of the movies ended up being important. These are pretty real scenarios, like for example when my wife told her mom how great No Way Home was, and her mom wanted to know what movies she should watch first before that, we were having a hard time figuring that out, because being fully caught up for that would've meant watching like 32 movies! And now, as your video pretty much illustrates, Deadpool & Wolverine is basically like that, on a much larger scale!

That's a good idea! I'll think about that. I mean, for No Way Home, it turned out that all 5 of the Tobey and Andrew films were heavily referenced. So those all made sense to watch. Regarding the X-Men movies, the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer showed several characters from the different movies appearing, but they are minor characters, so probably just watching a few of the X-Men movies would suffice. And then for the other multiversal films, I tried my best to suggest just the ones that I thought would provide the most bang for the buck. Really hard to predict on those. Anyway, I love your idea and I'll give that some consideration. Thanks as always for your awesome feedback on the vids!

Here's my pitch for the X-Men timeline (mind you I had trouble wrapping my head around your idea so if we end up saying the same thing, go us!) In terms of watching in chronological order and experinceing the timeline changes and avoiding watching films again, you would essentially start over whenever the timeline changes. In my MCU chronological watch, I watch all the multiverse stuff after Loki season 1 since that's when the multiverse started, so your playing catch up to the modern day. You could take a similar approach with X-Men while doing it with the other multiverse stuff. So my watch order would be starting with the original timeline: X-Men: First Class, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, The Wolverine, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Now the timeline has reset from DoFP, so you would go from there in the 2nd timeline with X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool, The New Mutants, Logan. Now I skipped Deadpool 2 because the timeline changes in that film not just from Deadpool at the end but by Cable coming back to find Russell. To me, it makes sense that Logan would be part of the timeline where Cable didn't come back in time to 2018 and stayed in an attempt to help the world "not shit itself into oblivion". So how DoFP is from Wolverine's perspective going back in time and changing things, we can treat Deadpool 2 from Cable's perspective (who comes from the 2nd timeline after Logan) and this being his own little DoFP. So this third timeline consists of Deadpool 2, Deadpool and Wolverine then whatever happens leading up to Secret Wars. For how Deadpool is aware of the events of Logan, he's a meta-character, he's aware that Logan is a film and he at some point watched it. When Deadpool makes those meta jokes, you can simply write them off as nothing more than jokes, not timeline placement evidence.

9:09 I personally imagine their timeline like this: it was a straight line until in DoFP it started to bend until a loop closed on a point of Wolverine travel. From that point it goes as a straight line again. So the thing is that in such configuration all original trilogy events are existing on the timeline, just not on the straight part but on a bend loop and at the same time there are no new future for these events. And so cause they are still on this loop, you can still visit these events

Good list. Here are my thoughts: - The latest word is that Blade is now set in the present day and will be a Midnight Sons movie, which would be awesome. I think it will still be in 2025, perhaps. - My guess is Sony will want Spider-Man 4 sooner, so likely in 2026. - I fear Eternals 2 won't ever come, but good news is it could be combined with another movie, such as Thor 5. - Not sure if we'll ever get a World War Hulk movie, but fingers crossed that it happens - I think Young Avengers might be a D+ show and will come sooner. But all of these things are guesses. Really hoping Feige gives us an updated slate soon!

There are a few problems with X-men Origins: Wolverine being set in 1979. The Vietnam war scene in Origins depicts the fall of Saigon in 1975. When Days of Future Past puts Wolverine in New York in 1973, things gets confusing because there's no way that Wolverine could be in New York and in Vietnam at the same time. Also, before William Stryker killed General Munson, he said he's been dealing with mutants for 20 years. The government didn't know about mutants until the events of X-men: First Class in 1962 so that would put Origins in 1982.

Great points! So, irl, the US didn't participate in the fall of Saigon in 1975, as they were pulled out of the war after the Paris Peace Accords in Jan, 1973. Thus, on the surface, the Origins movie made a mistake. So the assumption is that in the original timeline, Trask being killed by Mystique resulted in the Peace Accords not being signed and the U.S. not pulling out and thus Logan (who was chilling in New York) and Victor entered the war again and that led to the fall of Saigon happening sooner in 1973. I mean, we clearly saw that they two of them had major impact on the wars they were in, so that's honestly not too hard to believe, ig. Then, in the revised DoFP timeline, the Accords were signed, the U.S. pulled out of the war, and so Logan didn't return to the War after his break in New York. As for the 20 years line, the irl answer is it's another timeline mistake that First Class introduced, but the in-universe answer could be that he rounded up to 20. But, technically speaking, Xavier erased the worlds mind so that no one remembered the mutants in 1962 anyway. They didn't know of the mutants until 1973 (i.e. DoFP movie events) and so Stryker should have said 6 years. Man, the X-Verse timeline is a total mess no matter how hard we try to fix it. Sigh.

Personally I would say that all movies that are not a part of the sacred timeline should be watched after Loki S1as those you universes don't exist until the creation of the multiverse. Untill Loki S1 Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield were never Spider-Man, Huge Jackman was never Logan etc. While the Toby movies take place in the early 2000s his universe doesn't exist untill after Loki S1. Awesome video! If the X-Men timeline had split timelines instead of being rewritten then that would mean there would be much more than 3 timelines that Kitty, Cable, and Deadpool ended up creating. Legion could exist on the timeline where Deadpool went back to meet baby Hitler. Also it may be possible that the TVA could have helped/had a hand with the continuity issues that the X-Men films have.

Great points! Yes, I do think Kitty, Cable and Deadpool created lots of timelines and that would be very cool if one of those was the Legion timeline. In fact, after seeing the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer, it seems they indicate that the Wolverine in that movie isn't the one from the main timeline and so they are establishing that the X-Men universe is composed of lots of different timelines. Also for the 688B/Venom and 1610B/spider-verse, I have each movie moved by the time gaps in conjection with the sacred timeline, i.e., each 688B movie by 4 years ahead in corelation, and because of that other stuff forum on the Discord, you really do cover "a bit of everything"😂

@AbitofEverything4U it's a more interesting time gap for the spider-verse movies. I also accounted for that the prologue of the movie Gwen said was two months before the main events of the movie and so accounting for that and the gap for no way home, there's a time difference of 4 years 9 months 1 week and 6 days for E-1610. I personally prefer to watch everything in order of their release but with jumping from universe to universe (not just MCU release order, then X-men and like that) because I like to relive experiences as closely to like other people experienced them in the past with the release order as possible Btw endgame and days of the future past right after must be an astonishing experience! My personal watch order is watching any and all multiverse projects after Loki season 2 because i still believe Loki's tree is the whole multiverse and he allowed branches from far in the past to result in the ramiverse and the xmen verse and so on. I've been doing a massive rewatch since September of everything i believe to be cannon and I'm about to watch loki so it should be fun

You are definitely not alone in feeling that Loki's tree is the entire multiverse. I hope Marvel confirms one way or another what Loki's tree represents, but for now, it's definitely something fans are divided on. But regardless of what the tree is composed of, your watch order is definitely one I've heard several fans adhere to. Waiting to watch the multiverse movies (Sony Spider-Man, Fox X-Men, etc) until after Loki season 2 definitely makes alot of sense. Thanks so much for sharing your watch order. Really appreciate it!

13:11 I think it's important to mention that a lot of these older versions are wrapped up in all kinds of legal messess. Why do you think you can't watch any of them on Disney+? Howard the Duck for instance was distributed by Universal, and its unclear whether they would need to give their blessing to have that version of the character be reused. And even if it is possible, let's be honest Disney probably don't want to put their team of lawyers into figuring this out all for a baclground cameo which lasts 5 seconds, when they can use things from films they own outright for free and without hastle

About the placement of Days of Future Past and Logan in the second timeline, I'm not against it, in theory. I can see how it could work in both scenarios (even though I prefer your original suggestion). The only thing that I'm going to say is that using Deadpool's references as evidence for either placement is, to me, conceptually incorrect: Deadpool's defining feature is that he can break the fourth wall, much like She-Hulk. He often makes references to real world events/concepts, things that, as a fictional character, he shouldn't be able to know. And so, regardless of where he lives on the timeline, he would be aware of the fact that, in our world, Logan came out before Deadpool 2. So of course in his movie he can make a reference to it, without that necessarily meaning that it had to have happened before his own, if it makes sense.

Great video I really love how you gave a good overview of stuff however I do think you missed some stuff. Mostly spider-man related but heres what I think is missing: Spider-Man 67 (maybe the spider-woman cartoon too, continuity there is kinda iffy) before into the spider verse Spider-man the new animated series after spider-man 1 with tobey, as well as daredevil before it, I know its not technically canon but its probably a branch and worth adding Additionally Thomas Janes punisher has a blink and you miss it cameo in spider-man 2, so that may need some rearranging to add that. Spider-man TAS (and therefore the rest of the 90s marvel universe, X-Men TAS, Spider-man unlimited, Silver Surfer, Avengers United they stand, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, and The Incredible Hulk), Spider-man PS4 Universe (Miles Morales, Spider-man 2 and Iron Man VR), Spectacular spider-man (and all other yostverse content, Avengers EMH, Wolverine and the X-men, Fantastic Four worlds greatest heroes, Thor Tales of Asgard, Doctor Strange, Hulk Vs Thor, Hulk Vs Wolverine and Planet Hulk), all before across the spider verse. I've also seen one source say Spiderman Unlimited is included in Across the spider verse too meaning add that, Hulk and the agents of smash, Guardians of the galaxy, avengers Assemble and Spider-man 2017 in the revised timeline after that universes secret wars. This is very very questionable though. Also note it does contain them traveling to Super Hero Squads universe so you could add that too. I know this makes it WAY more complicated but some of these like the ps4 games and spider-man 67 are absolute no brainers. I also think we may have a chance at seeing Eric banas hulk in either Deadpool 3 or secret wars, thats just my opinion though.

I'm watching the MCU timeline right now, and I just want to comment another watch order for the multiversal movies, it's a mixture between the binge and integrated versions. Start with the MCU movies until right before No Way Home, where you would watch the Toby movies, the Andrew movies, the venom movies(including Madame Web and Morbius), and Into the Spider-Verse. Then watch No Way Home, and after that watch Spider Within and Across the Spider-Verse(and when Beyond releases, it would probably be placed after Across the Spider-Verse). Until Deadpool & Wolverine is released I don't really know when the X-Men would be placed in the MCU, but if D&W says where it's placed, I would just watch the entire X-Men timeline before that.

Not sure how I feel about the binge watch order to be honest. I agree more with the idea of interweaving with the MCU without a doubt. As for the Venom/Spiderverse stuff, also totally agree here too. As for the Fox-Men movies ... I feel like the Deadpool 2 referencing Logan was more a meta thing like how he also references McAvoy and Stewart in Deadpool 1 so it makes it a bit tricky timeline wise. The Origins one though is an utter headscratcher. Oh man I didn't even consider all the OLD shows and movies ... wow. And yep I could see Deadpool dunking on the 2015 Fantastic Four film in the same way he dunks on Origins.

I can't help but notice that Cassandra Nova is young, if she is sticking true to her comic book counterpart as a sort of dark reflection of Professor X- she should he the same age. And considering that Patrick Stewart was kind of pushing himself while playing Prof. X in Dr Strange so I doubt we'll be seeing much of him, I'm thinking we are in for a Cameo from McAvoy Prof. X!

They came out in between the MCU movies and then some more pre-MCU even though some MCU movies take place in years before those movies took place in those respective years

Just wanted to post the way I integrate everything, because I agree with you that integrated is better. However, I leave an emphasis on the MCU as best as I can with 'multiversal breaks' between sections while still trying to maintain a sense of technology of the real world or just simple continuity. So I tend to go Cap 1 - Avengers, then break for X1/X2/Origins and Raimi SM 1-3 plus DD/EK. Back to the MCU for Thor 2 - Avengers 2, second break for FF 1/FF2, X3 and Wolverine as well as TASM 1/2. Back to the MCU for Ant-Man - Doctor Strange (Because Phase 3 is just too big at this point with all the shows), third break for First Class through Logan but NOT the DP films. Back to the MCU for JJ season 2 - Endgame then the 4th and final break for DP 1/2, Venom 1/2 and Morbius. After that its MCU all the time to the current. I admit I haven't seen both Spider-Verse films so I have no placement for those yet.

So my watchlist starts with 616 from The First Avenger to Endgame. Then follows the multiverse with Loki S1, Quantumania, Loki S2, What If...? And from there branch off to the Spider-verse: Spider-Man 1-3, The Amazing Spider-Man 1-2, Into the Spider-verse and bounce back and forth with Far From Home (multiverse fakeout), Venom: Let There Be Carnage, No Way Home, Across the Spider-verse. Hawkeye & Echo make a pallet cleanser (with Kingpins appearing there and Spider-verse) And then I'd watch FoX-Men in timeline order, but it just doesn't play as well so: X-Men, X2, The Last Stand, The Wolverine, First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix; these go together and set up WandaVision and Multiverse of Madness. The rest of Phase 4&5 for now follows connecting characters or other elements: Shang-Chi, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, The Marvels, Thor: Love & Thunder, Guardians Holiday, vol. 3, Falcon & Winter Soldier, Wakanda Forever, Secret Invasion, Eternals, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night. I'll probably edit it once we know how Deadpool & Wolverine ties into the wider MCU, but this is how it ends for now: X-Men: TAS, X-Men '97, Daredevil (2003), Elektra (2005), X-Men: Origins: Wolverine, Deadpool, Logan, Deadpool 2, Deadpool & Wolverine.

If it ties into The Marvels, then it could be better closer to that movie, but it still seems that with the 90's feel of the show, it might make sense in the 90's. Something I'd recommend doing is watching the MCU from Iron Man til Endgame, including Netflix's Daredevil and Punisher series. Then watch the Sony/Fox Marvel films in release order to prepare for the Multiverse Saga. I'd also delay watching Far From Home until the Multiverse Saga as that's where it fits in the timeline. I hope Moon Girl shows up in Secret Wars as well. There is already a live-action version of her that's referenced in the Spider-Man ride at Disneyland, which is canon to the MCU but set in a different branch of the timeline, so there is precedence for Lunella to appear in the future going off that. Of course, it would also be fun if they pulled a "Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?" and had Moon Girl appear just as she does in the cartoon in Secret Wars.

Personally when watching the MCU, I’ll watch the multiverse movies outside the MCU when I really feel like it. For No way home I don’t need to see all the other Spider-Man films beforehand every time, since I’m so familiar with them (just like many other older Marvel films). I have a question for you and all the great watchers out there. Do you think that Deadpool is even in the X-Men universe or is he in a variant of it? On the surface it seems pretty cut and dried. In part 1, he asks about Professor Xavier "is it McAvoy or Stewart? These timelines are so confusing." And we do get a little cameo of the First Class Era X-Men in part 2. He constantly references Wolverine including referencing his demise after Logan at the beginning of part 2. However, it is never made clear whether he is referencing his death in his own universe or is simply fourth wall breaking? It's worth pointing 2 things out: 1.Juggernaut,Collossus and Yukio are all very different people in the Deadpool movies than they are in the X-Men movies. Juggernaut is in X-Men 3,Collosus is in X-Men 2 and 3 and Yukio is in the Wolverine. Very different actors and very different portrayals. 2. While it looks like the X-Men Mansion from the X-Men movies, if it's a variant universe it doesn't have to be. And here's the big thing. While we are certain this is the Deadpool we have been following appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, we don't know that this Wolverine is the same one from before Logan happens. There are going to be multiple Logans in this, by many reports. And the Fox one never wore the yellow suit. So that's a question we are going to have right up until the movie comes out I'm sure. He could be a variant that looks identical but has different history. We have no way of knowing. So while I always do a character run-through marathon every movie a character appears in when a new MCU movie drops, this is particularly difficult here because we don't know yet if that version of Wolverine is what is included. Obviously I include Deadpool 1 and 2 but is Deadpool 2 truly happening after Logan? Because the world of Deadpool 2 does not look the way the world of Logan looked. And if we accepts that Logan has not happened yet, that by extension would mean Deadpool 2 hasn't happened yet...which makes no sense. So I think the only conclusion we can draw is that Deadpool and Wolverine (that is the one from this upcoming movie) are not from the same universe. That's really all we can say with certainty up to this point.

In that breakdown, I discuss some of the comments from the creative teams putting together the later X-Men movies (i.e. Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, Deadpool 1 and 2, New Mutants and Logan) and it seems that they are all in the same timeline. Deadpool has the 4th wall breaking ability and so it's always hard to know when he's being serious and when he's just making a joke, but it seems those movies are all tied together. However, you were spot on in your guess that the Deadpool and Wolverine appearing in the upcoming Deadpool 3 are from different timelines. what bothers me most about merging the Logan movie into the revised timeline of the X-Men universe is that the creatives have stated that Logan is its own separate timeline and the fact that Deadpool three doesn’t want to affect Logan and that specific movie makes me believe that it is in its own timeline, one similar to the revised timeline, but I believe the branch point of the timeline is whether William Price’s father dies or not in the 80s when Logan escapes. in the revised timeline he lives and so Logan doesn’t happen, but in the Logan timeline, he dies leading to new mutants, and then Logan putting itself in its own branch timeline

Yeah, the Logan movie is such a tough one to decide what to do with. I mean, Mangold sure made it sound like it was part of the post DOFP timeline and the movie has those 8 references to the original and revised X-Men timelines as well as the Essex easter eggs. So while it could be that Logan is off in its own timeline, it also seems to fit so well in the existing timelines. ofc, in the end, they left it ambiguous enough that I think people can pretty much go with whatever timeline structure that they want. Maybe that was the smartest move in the end...leave it open ended and let the fans decide.

@@AbitofEverything4U I may be wrong when I say this, but I believe the creative directors behind Logan said that the film was in its own timeline and if that is so then that would also give some more evidence towards the X-Men universe being a branch timeline situation like the MCU. with the new Deadpool and Wolverine trailer and how their gathering other Wolverines from other points in time, possibly branches in time it seems to me that they’re gonna establish that the X-Men universe works like the MCU. also, taking in the fact that Deadpool has traveled to points in time that have been so-called erased or reversed, so it wouldn’t make sense for the characters of these movies to be able to do that if there wasn’t a branch universe. if each time they go back in time and it erases the timeline then it shouldn’t be possible for Deadpool to go back in time to point that was erased, specifically the moment where he kills weapon 11 in Origins: Wolverine, if that makes sense.

Right...I really like the idea of the X-Men time travel creating branches instead of re-writing time. And based on the TVA showing branched timelines on their monitors, it seems that's what they are going for. As for Logan, there are so many different quotes about it. Some of the creative team has said it's a different timeline and some (such as Mangold) implied it's the same timeline. I personally like the idea of it connecting to X-Men: Apocolypse, New Mutans, and Deadpool 2, but I also agree that it may very well be in its own timeline. So I suspect there will never be a fan consensus on it, which is totally okay in the end.

@@AbitofEverything4U technically Logan being on its own branch can go with the apocalypse evidence, still have new mutants within that branch with Logan, and then since Deadpool seems to be a Nexus being, aware of time travel and changes within the universe, it would make sense for him to know what is going on in a timeline separate from his own. it just may mean that during the watch order we would need to jump from the rewritten timeline to the Logan timeline real quick and then back to the rewritten timeline in between the deadpool films

I mean, sure, there was like a little statue/toy of Logan dying, iirc, but it could be a custom thing he ordered... I don't know. Yeah, with Deadpool, it's hard to know when he's joking versus giving us factual info. I mean, he jumps over to Wolverine Origins to kill crappy Deadpool, so the dude is all over the place. But I admit I do like the idea of Logan being in that second timeline and thus being part of the reason that Cable's future is so dismal and that it gets reset once Cable fixes things in 2018. Deadpool just seems to be able to sense stuff in the timelines that he doesn't like, even they happen in the future, which makes everything alot trickier.

Hey man, just wondering where you’d put Loki season 1 and 2 in comparison to the MCU. If season 1 is after endgame. season 2 is after the marvels but season 2 starts just at the end of season 1. Very good question! I should’ve mentioned it in the video but I personally think watching both Loki season one and season two back to back makes the most sense. But I also think it helps to know that from a timeline standpoint marvel considers season two to start right after season one, but that season two runs parallel with the MCU all the way up to the end of the marvels. That way while you’re watching the rest of the Multiverse saga, you can keep in mind what’s going on with the loom in the Loki series.

You could watch Daredevil, Elektra and Fantastic Four after X2 then Rise of the Silver Surfer after The Last Stand, and then FANT4STIC before Deadpool, in the revised timeline.

Small thing that you could add, but it’s completely unnecessary. For some of the franchises you listed in the multiverse movie section, their TV series released episodes as their movies. Just mentioning it because you included 1, being the the back door pilot episode that released theatrically for The Incredible Hulk in 1977. At that same time, they also released the Return of the Incredible Hulk, and later on they released videos of the 2 hour film “The Bride of the Incredible Hulk” (or The Incredible Hulk: Married when it aired on TV). Similar thing with the Spider-Man 1977 series, they released some episodes as films in theaters, mostly in Europe

next time you talk about the x-men timeline, could you maybe add months to it? this is a problem specifically for the wolverine, which is placed in 2013. sure, there's only one mcu film in 2013 (iron man 3), but I find it necessary to do that.

Yeah, I do need to add the months for times when we know them. Like, we know the months of the movies that happen around historical events, for instance, such as with First Class happening during the missile crisis. But The Wolverine is a tough one, as they don't really give us any indication of what month it occurs. If you have a suggestion on it, I'll definitely add it to the timeline spreadsheet. For now, I just have it in the month it was released, which is July, although it could fit better in the fall, as it seems many characters are more warmly dressed. Any suggestions?

What is super confusing is, if the What If episodes are branches off of 616, you'd think that their numerical designations would either be decimal points (like 616.01, 616.02, etc.) or start with 616. But every What If reality that has an official number, and even the Team Thor reality, all have their own official, unique numerical designations. Which implies that they're as much a parallel universe as 838 or the Tobey/Andrew realities. But then you have the Spider-Verse realities, which are differentiated by "616-B" and the like, but instead of very much being branches, THOSE are considered independent realities. It's so counterintuitive.

Ngl i would just ignore What If; loki already established that every 616 branch is labeled as “616-(string of letters and numbers)” and its like 10x more relevant to the overall saga than what if is so i would simply assume the what if writers didnt know what they were supposed to do. Same with spiderverse and the 616-b stuff; its like the situation where mcu and sony cant agree if the main universe is 616 or 19999. Irl just some miscommunication issues, and in-universe characters just have different methods of naming realities

Interesting...where are you seeing the different reality numbers for the What If episodes? If it's on the wiki, keep in mind that it's a fan driven site. I suspect Marvel doesn't consider them separate realities, since the timeline book shows that the What If episodes are indeed direct branches off of 616 similar to the Loki branches.

The site itself is technically unofficial since Marvel the company has no hand in it, but as mentioned, it’s staffed by actual Marvel employees, and their reality designations do show up quite frequently in official products.

The dead pool references are just that. Not actually interactions with the other timelines. Deadpool has a completely different origin in Origins. That would make it a completely different universe not just timeline.

Well said! Everything deadpool does is part truth and part meta reference. That said, I don't think Cable's device lets him jump to a different universe, but I do think that the Fox X-Men universe has lots of branches (similar to what we saw in Loki for the 616 universe) and that Deadpool jumped around between those timelines.

So my order is kind of a combination of your order and the binge order in some ways let me explain Starting obviously with the infinity saga in chronological order which i go more or less by Disney plus ive made like 2-3 tweaks based on stuff like when i stop for a day and minor things like that but i basically honor that order Then we have eternals and shangchi which can go in any order but usually when i do this order endgame is the last movie of day 4 so i usually like to start day 5 off with eternals cause it has more of an end of one story start of another feel to me then shangchi does but he comes right after THEN far from home now this order takes me almost 2 weeks as it is so it mainly prioritizes movies if im in the mood for any shows i add them but movies are prioritized for now not to stroke your ego but i think you do good work just assume any show i don’t talk about here is wherever you have it (and agents of shield is totally canon bt dubs ;) ) however if a show is important to whatever movie im doing the rewatch leading up to it i make sure to add it in Deadpool and wolverines case im talking mainly about Loki so loki is next MULTIVERSE EVENT ALERT Loki just made a tree connecting all the timelines together we have all this new shit to explore!!! THIS IS WHERE ANY MOVIE (and/or show if you love ya some bill bixby ;) ) pre establishment of the MCU goes These are branches outside of prime universe 616 so their order is mainly irrelevant (i don’t quite have YOUR patience heres where i say we kinda “combine with the binge order “ i just binge these other series in order of their timeline) With the following exceptions Venom 1 and 2 im doing right after Loki I don’t wanna say “to get them out of the way” cause it sounds like im dissing them and they get more hate than they deserve but that’s basically the “concept “ and this puts them close to far from home in the other enhancing the cliffhanger thats gonna take a few days to see its resolution (a few watching days not timeline days i gotta sleep you know ;) Whichever order you do from this point forward i say the last three stops on the multiverse tour should go in this order Fox X-Men timeline (pretty much your order prior to the discussion of the DOFP/Logan discrepancy which i have personally decided i disagree with) i view the Deadpool 2 logan spoiler as a fourth wall break with Deadpool 2 still going before new mutants and logan but i have acknowledged that if anyone uses my order to introduce the fox movies to anyone for the first time then putting Deadpool 2 after logan is the “spoiler free” version if you will) Tobey spiderman movies Andrew spiderman movies Then Amazing Spider Man 2 goes right into No Way Home imagine that transition and tell me it doesn’t tempt you Then from no way home on ive just been reverting back to Disney plus order with release order as the default for movies not on there yet with updates if necessary depending on that and any movie by another studio at this point will just correspond with release date unless something in the movie gives me a better idea (i.e. right now venom 3 is going after Deadpool and wolverine but if say….the first scene takes place right after the no way home mid credits scene then it’s going after no way home) (and im not buying madame web so i don’t have to worry about that ;) ) so right now Deadpool and wolverine is going right after the marvels until the movie itself or Disney plus tell me thats a bad idea you and i basically also have the same rule that no established timeline = “present day”/release date So what do you think?

@@AbitofEverything4Uyeah im actually doing my Deadpool and wolverine prep rewatch now with this order and when i made this comment explaining it id just rolled out of bed and im now realize ingot so caught up in explaining the order itself i didn’t do the best job explaining the logoc of it in case you didnt put it together the idea is basically that the temporal loom in Loki acts as somewhat of a multiversal “big bang” of sorts once either the loom is unleashed or once loki stabilizes it up to interpretation basically thats when everything from sony fox etc comes into being while from each of their perspectives time still flowed in a normal direction for them

No offense to anyone who enjoys the binge order for themselves, but I think you'd have to be insane or just totally out of touch to _recommend_ it to anyone lol. The quality is so much more varied than the MCU's, and the payoff is so much more delayed than the binge would have you think, that it's a surefire way to kill any normal person's interest in continuing past it if you present those multiverse movies as essential. I'll always champion the old SM movies being thrown into the first two phases for exactly the reasons noted here!

Im more of a binge guy. But im gonna stick to the X-Men movies and shows for Deadpool & Wolverine since its a homage to them. Im gonna skip any Spidey movie cause the current Sony deal has one MCU Spidey solo film and one crossover film that Disney can make with Spidey. I dont think Marvel is gonna waste that one movie on Deadpool & Wolverine and not on Avengers: Secret Wars. This way, they can use Andrew and Bully Maguire as well. And Im also gonna skip the main MCU timeline cause this film is gonna pay homage to the X movies of days of future past (see what I did there?). As for Secret Wars, Im gonna binge all titles with Marvel Studios in the logo and that includes No Way Home, Deadpool & Wolverine and the upcoming The Fantastic Four. Im mentioning these specifically cause they're either set in an alternate universe then 616 or their story is multiverse heavy. Im gonna skip any Marvel movies made by Sony, Fox, New Line Cinema etc with the exception of the above mentioned three titles. No Way Home is co-produced by Disney & Sony, D&W & The F4 are co-produced by Disney & 20th Century Studios (formerly Fox). Besides, imagine watching Captain Marvel and then straight to Spider-Man. No common subplots, no common actors (even characters), no common goal. And its going to pay off 50 movies down the road with No Way Home and then further 20 movies down the road in Secret Wars. Will make your brain hurt. So, in conclusion, The X-Men Saga for Deadpool & Wolverine, and the mainline MCU with Marvel Studios in the logo for Secret Wars (and yes, these wont include the Defenders Saga since the logo isnt present) I know they're canon, please dont be mad at me...😇

Yeah, the X-Men timeline has to go down as one of the most confusing ones out there. The fact that it still gets debated even today is so wild. Good news is the movies are alot of fun to watch regardless of the weird timeline, but I'm still so surprised that it ended up being so confusing!

Honestly, whilst I found this helpful I'm probably not gonna watch everything. I'll stick to the X-men and spider-man movies (not venom-verse though) and then main MCU movies and shows. Also quick question about X-Men '97, should I watch the og series before the new episodes or am I able to just watch the new stuff?

Yeah, I'm gonna mostly stick to watching the X-Men and Spider-Man movies, although I make re-watch Daredevil and a few others here or there. What I did like was seeing all of the movies listed in one place. That was alot of fun to put together. Even if I don't watch them, I still think it's nice to know what's out there. As for X-Men 97, I've heard alot of people say they have only watched the new show and that they can still follow the story and are enjoying it. So you could try watching the new series and then if you feel you want more backstory, you could check out some of the original episodes. In my breakdowns of each episode, I try to mention any of the og series episodes that are referenced, so that you can go check them out if desired.

​​​​@@AbitofEverything4UBecause of it's connection to Logan, i think that Logan is in the old X-Men timeline, Logan is continuation of X-Men: Days of Future Past ending scene, when he meets old Professor X and old X-Men in the school. Where you see old Charles Xavier it's Earth 10005 and where young Charles is Earth TRN414. And also about Daredevil, Elektra and Fantastic Four, you can watch them alongside the old X-Men timeline Earth 10005, because in Fantastic Four there was a deleted scene where Reed turned into Wolverine and showed Logan's face to Sue, which proves that the creators wanted to combine old films into one timeline and as for 2015's Fantastic Four, the creators wanted to include this film in the Deadpool and Dark Phoenix timeline Earth TRN414

See i never got this because ya i was thinking sony has the perfect reasoning for that morbius post credits scene by using the collider yet they use the same exact effect with the sky rift from no way home which makes absolutely no sense

So, my guess on that is that the writers of Morbius truly wanted it to be the No Way Home incident that sent over Vulture. So they gave us that effect in the sky. The writers of ATSV realized how impossible that was, so they tried to fix it by implying it was the Collider event that caused the issue. Thus, I assume the disruption in the sky that we saw in Morbius was what returned Venom to that universe (since they are in the same universe) and thus it isn't tied to Vulture's appearance, per se. Not the best of answers, but it does make everything fit.
